GoogleThe most appalling service, even the word service is a bit of a stretch. The person I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with was completely unresponsive. They also knowingly misrepresented the property on behalf of the landlord.

GoogleThis agency was by far the worst one I've ever worked with. To begin with before we moved into our house (September 2020) we had established that in case of a new lockdown the contract terms could be negotiated. With the lockdown in November and then again during the new months of 2021, my flat mates and I were unable to come back from Portugal (our home country) due to the lockdown travel restrictions. Since we've moved in we've used the house for approximately two months. TWO! Yet they were unwillingy to renegotiate contract terms with three students who have to work to pay for the rent for a house they've barely used. Additionally, as soon as we moved in one of my house mates and I found the house in terrible conditions... not cleaned, a sock and a textbook on the floor, the living room table had crumbs everywhere and the walls were marked and dirty. We had to spend money from our own pockets and spend two full days deep cleaning the house when it's the agencies MINIMUM to ensure the house is cleaned and ready for new tenants. With our bare minimum use of the house, we had to request for a person to come fix a hole in a wall in one of the rooms and the shower base was broken. A person came to fix the problems, fixed the shower and said would come the following week to fix the hole in the wall. Never came back... I think all these examples are enough for the person who is reading this to NOT purchase or rent a house from this agency. They are TERRIBLE! I will award them one star becuase giving 0 isn't an option. Please be careful in what you're getting yourself into, especially if you're a student!NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

GoogleMy girlfriend had the sad misfortune to rent through the amateurs at Michael Simpson’s Colchester office. For nearly 3 years she was either ignored, lied to, and generally treated purely as a source of income. And when leaving they withheld her deposit using spurious claims, from damage their installer caused, to leaving behind items that were there when she arrived. The initial check-in inventory was done by an untrained starter who apologised at the time for all the errors. This inventory was then used as the check-out inventory causing distress, untold hours of phone calls and emails resulting in the independent arbitrator through the Tenancy Deposit Scheme finding against Michael’s. Obviously. They have form on this if you read other rental dept reviews. It turns out the house she was renting was actually owned by Michael Simpson himself. So there was never going to be a fair settlement from Michael’s themselves, being both “poacher and gamekeeper” My advice. Do not go near them. GoogleAll of the staff have been lovely, helpful and supportive through the whole sale and purchase process. Whoever said estate agents don't call back hasn't been to Michaels - always return calls on the rare occasions they have not been able to come straight to the phone. Well done to the whole team
