GoogleRIDICULOUS Me and my partner were interested in a one bedroom flat they were advertising. Called on Tuesday morning to see if I could book in a viewing, the lady who answered said the gentleman who handles the property was in a meeting but she would pass on the message and get him to contact me later on. The day goes by and no one calls. I call them back on Wednesday, the gentleman says he "didn't get my message" and tells me they'd have to arrange the viewing with the tenants and see if they were ok with me and my partner going round on Saturday at lunch time to see the flat. He said he would contact them and then get back to me. Once again, the day goes by and no one calls me to confirm or cancel the appointment. I decide to wait until Thursday afternoon when I give them another call and the gentleman informs me they can't get in touch with the tenant (which, in 2016 I find really hard to believe) so they can't confirm my viewing. To this point, after having to chase them up like that for something so little and simple as a 5 minutes viewing, I got fed up and informed the gentleman that if he couldn't confirm the appointment by Friday morning then I would have considered it cancelled. I was shocked and absolutely not impressed when he told me if I wanted to cancel I would have had to call them (AGAIN) to cancel a viewing that's never actually been confirmed in the first place! I don't hear back from them all Friday so I assume our appointment is cancelled, but on Saturday at lunch time I get a call from them saying that we had a viewing booked in for that time... I am honestly appealed, I work in customer service and I know I'd lose my job if I had to be so rude and inconsiderate with my clients! If they can't even organise a simple viewing by communicating with tenants and getting back to people who are interested in the property, I don't even want to begin to imagine what it would be like to work with them in case you decide to move forward and rent the property. I surely won't ever find out, not keen on dealing with them again!

GoogleABSOLUTELY SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! As a landlord or a tenant i would never use this company. All they care about is the landlord and disregard the well being of the tenants. My experience with this company was shocking. First of all Matt was my first terrible dealing and very unprofessional when my room had a burst ceiling due to a waste waterpipe from up stairs, and human waste over my bed. He was more interested in getting home than sorting me alternative accommodation. Second problem, and the reason i moved out was someone going into my room with the contract 24 hour notice period. When contacting them asking who was in my room they where unable to answer and tell me who it was so this was a safety issue as very expansive personal items in the room. Third problem was a rodent in the kitchen going in all the cupboards and eating food. Obviously this is coming to build up areas. But i was spoken to disgustingly by the agent quoting her "well just move out" shouting down the phone. As a landlord myself i would be very annoyed at the level of unprofessional behaviour by someone who is representing my property. Last problem was a second waste water pipe leaking in my room down a wooden partition wall. This shows me the level of cowboys/unprofessional craftsmanship going into work in the property. When i moved out 2 weeks early due to all these problems the agent made no effort in getting my deposit back but try and take all my deposit off me and give to the landlord. All in al shocking customer service.

GoogleI’ve used this company three times now. Once to let my property which was fuss free. Let quickly and only ever got contacted once to ask if a fence panel could be replaced. That house was sold in 2013 and Julian in the Cricklade office dealt with the sale. Julian was utterly professional and it sold within 3 days of listing, good buyers and I was kept well informed throughout so much so that when I sold another of my houses in 2015, I went back to McFarlane’s again and this time my contact was Silvia. I lost the first buyer due to Ill health but a new buyer was already waiting in the wings and again the whole process went through smoothly and without any dramas. Really good professional but friendly staff, nice offices and good client care. Happy to recommend.

GoogleI’ve been both a tenant with Mcfarlane and used them as a letting agent for my own flat and have always received friendly, professional and efficient service. Recommended a couple of friends to use them when looking for places. Ignore the poor reviews - sounds like a disgruntled tenant.

GoogleI have 5 properties currently being managed by Mcfarlanes and I have nothing but good things to say about the service I receive, they have been super quick to find quality tenants to go into my properties and my tenants tend to stay long term and all seem to be very happy. All the staff are great particularly Carla who manages my properties, she is professional, efficient, friendly and patient (which she has needed to be dealing with me over the years)

GoogleMcFarlane provide a good service for us as Landlords. They do regular inspections, provide comprehensive reports and follow up on any issues raised by us or the tenants. Carla the Property Manager is always very helpful and professional and responds very quickly. They seem reliable and try to preempt any possible problems.

GoogleWill never use them. They don’t come out for services or even inspections that they promised. They come up with excuses not to pay our money back. Never will recommend them. If you do rent out with them make sure you take before and after photos of your place. I would give a 0 if I could.

Googleabsolute joke of an agency! so many problems never get fixed, hundreds of emails and calls to even get to the first stage! some problems there when we moved in promised to be fixed before we moved in it wasn't and we are still waiting with a dangerous building and my kids unable to even use the garden because of the shoddy work floor falling through not to mention the ceiling! absolute shambles and very unprofessional DO NOT RECCOMEND

GoogleWould give 0 if I could, would not recommend, had 4 months with a dodgy shower and nearly 7 months without an intercom, I wonder if it’ll be fixed by the time my tenancy agreement is up, funny they’ll ring me to check up on my rent but not use money to pay to give me a suitable flat for the £2000 deposit I paid!!!

This is my third engagement with McFarlanes (Cricklade Office) having used them previously to both rent out and sell my former home, and I have to commend them yet again for handling my current sale so well too. They have consistently exceeded my expectations by efficiently (and sympathetically) dealing with all of my problems during a messy conveyance - by providing me with assistance and advice beyond their remit 'out of hours' and late into the evening from their own homes. How good is that? Once again I have to shower Silvia with so much credit and thank her personally for her inexhaustible support and kindness. If I were a CEO, I'd head-hunt her lol. So, a big thank you to this wonderful company, and to the MD, Shaun - who is a total gentleman, for creating such a well oiled team. You can safely put your trust and confidence in the hands of this agent.

GoogleI’ve used this agency both to rent out and sell my house. They are Blue Chip by their level of professionalism and come very highly recommended. Both my Let and Sale over the last 18 months went swimmingly well, both offices driven by their superb teams based in Swindon and Cricklade that always went the extra mile. They are to be commended and should be considered for an Industry Award for setting the standards so high. Their service is very personable and I found their rates quite competitive, especially when you compare their work ethics with other agents I’ve dealt with in the past. I cannot recommend them enough - take my word that your property and interests will be looked after in safe hands.
