I am deeply disappointed with the service provided by this estate agency. I requested a viewing for a property that had been on the market for less than 24 hours, only to be denied this. When I inquired about their selection process for viewings, the response I received was shocking. I was informed that there is no formal agreement between them and myself for viewings . They stated that while registering with does not mean they are obliged to facilitate viewings. This is a less than ideal response. I believe landlords expect their properties to be marketed effectively and provided with a selection of people to hand their property over to. However, this objective becomes challenging if viewings are restricted, and groups of workers are excluded from viewings. Those who do not work from home, and NHS staff are at a disadvantage.

Horton and Garton were excellent, and especially their letting agent Shiyane. I was looking for a new flat for months and had encountered zero-empathy and insincerity from the majority of estate agents I’d dealt with. When I went to the H&G branch in Hammersmith immediately the staff greeted me warmly and Shiyane took me for a viewing of the property that same morning. I knew it was the place I’d been looking for. Shiyane and the team were always super helpful, polite and understanding, on the phone, by email and face to face in the office. She organised the admin, documentation and inventory in quick time and also accommodated my own intense work schedule. The whole process was seamless and Shiyane really gave me the sense that she was going to do her best to make sure I found a flat met my criteria and was very pro-active. I am used to chasing people up but looking back already, Shiyane was in frequent communication and I didn’t need to do much except complete the documents and deposits necessary to secure the property. I highly recommend this estate agents. They are by far the friendliest team I’ve encountered in London, and Shiyane especially is an excellent letting agent who went out of her way to help me secure the property that I wanted. Many thanks Shiyane and team.
