Never heard of them but was looking for a house and they were at the other end of the phone. I thought they were estate agents but they are not. They are in my opinion providers of bridging finance to the elderly to take over the properties when they pass away. Its not something very nice and clear too. I was just informed that if your spouse is under 60, He/She has to vacate the property within 28 days of the one aged 60+ passing off.The maths don't make any sense and justification to be fare. Best to all the maths before signing up...

An absolutely crooked student rental agent.
Beware, they claim against deposit for redecoration of rooms that are handed back in exactly the same state as received, claim for damage that was present but hidden when you move in, and change your checkout form from that you sign when checking out, when you dispute this with TDS.
Keep all documentation, take photos and video everything at check in and out, but ideally avoid the agent in the first place.

I am in the process of buying a retirement flat through Homewise. Just a few comments. Having spoken to 3 people in 4 days it has become a bit onerous and repetitive. Having read the comments on this site I think some of the problems described are unjustied. For leaseholders , such as me, you are not the owner, you own the lease for a certain number of years but you do not own the freehold. There are complaints about maintenance of the property. That is the responsibilty of the leaseholder, not the freeholder. When you die the property, whether that is the outstanding lease or the freehold passes to them. That's how they make their money. I don't have any family so it is not a problem for me but it's probably a bad idea if you want to leave things to others after your death. We'll see how it goes and I'll comment further later. I admit that I don't like the false bonhommie,the mateyness.This always makes me a bit suspicious.

I don't care if this is part of their "scheme" I've never heard of them nor given them permission to do so and the multiple adverts with different values created confusion about my propert and may have affected interest. I will be exploring legal action and I can see I'm not the only one.

Absolutely shocking they advertised my house without asking . It was on with another agent and they listed it. It looked it was less than the actual sale price due to the way they operate. Complete cowboys. Please beware they should not be doing this without consent. I will be seeking legal action.
