TrustpilotFriendly professional staff.
All the staff at Homewise, have been well trained and seem to know their job well. The experience with this company was friendly but professional, and although we decided not to use this company their professionalism remained till the end.

TrustpilotOrganisation is a mess.
I applied for a letted property I specifically stated on the online form that I couldn’t attend on Friday for viewing before 12:30pm due to work. 5 days prior to the viewing I received an appointment to attend at 10:30….I phoned a few hours later to rearrange an appointment they stated 1pm and I agreed. I received an email a few hours later to say the colleague couldn’t make so they will push it back to 2pm instead. Okay no problem. The next day I received another email stated their colleague couldn’t make it for 2pm so they would push it back to 3pm. The day of my appointment arrives I knock on the door nobody is there so I phoned the office to be told my appointment was 2:30!! I never received any correspondence stating that time! Eventually Megan turned up. She was professional and friendly and apologetic, but their organisation is a joke I will think twice before applying for JW Wood.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we're sorry for the frustration you experienced.
You're right that this fell well below the standard we expect. This property received a very high number of viewing requests, and in trying to accommodate everyone we rearranged several appointments, including yours, at short notice. That's on us to manage properly and communicate clearly, and in your case we didn't do either. The final mix-up over your appointment time, and the lack of correspondence confirming it, should never have happened.
We're glad Megan was able to help on the day, and we'll be sure to pass on your kind words about her.
We're reviewing how we handle high-volume viewing periods so this doesn't happen again. If you'd like to discuss this further, please do get in touch with us directly, we'd welcome the chance to put things right.

TrustpilotFinding my happy place.
Both people I have deal with so far (Keira and George) have been extremely helpful and informative, quickly answering my questions and attentive to my needs. Early days in the home finding process but I don't feel pressured in pursuing what will be my final home. Being aged and escaping marital issues, I now feel I have a shot at happiness thanks to Homewise (just wish I'd heard of them a lot, lot sooner).

GoogleWe wanted to move closer to our son and daughter-in-law, we have lived in the same house for 41 years and at 74 and 82 this was a huge decision to make. Houses are more expensive in the area they live and with our savings depleted we wanted to see how we could raise some equity from our house . Having researched Homewise and the benefits of a lifetime mortgage we felt this could be an option to explore.
Firstly we visited the Homewise offices in Worthing and met with Sam the Customer Account Manager , from the outset he made us feel at ease and clearly explained how Homewise could help us achieve our house move. From there on Sam has been so supportive and been available at the end of the phone when needed. Despite asking so many questions and wanting reassurance on different aspects he made the process seamless.
We have found our house with the offer accepted and with the offer on our house accepted we are progressing to the next stage with the confidence of Sam and his team at Homewise’s support.

GoogleIf you want to lose everything then use this company. My in laws wanted to sell their 4 bed house and buy a bungalow as they had both reached 80 and couldn't manage stairs. Dad was also mums soke carer.
So they contacted homewise and yes, all calls were prompt and agents were lovely. However, they were both led to believe that the bungalow was a leasehold and not a lifetime lease. When I rang homewise to discuss, I was told it was none of my business and they called mum and told her to tell me to stop interfering. I should point out that the solicitor acting was in fact the husband of estate agent!!
Cutting the story short, they were sold a 90 year lease, thinking it was a leasehold property. Who sells 2 80 year people a 90 year lease. This cost them £140,000.
Dad did actually refuse to sign contracts but said he was forced to by estate agent and solicitor. He asked the solicitor to note that he was signing under duress, but that appears to have been ignored.
Dad died last Tuesday after only 2 years in that bungalow. His dying wish was for to sell the house and find mum a good care facility and pay for his funeral.Of course that can't happen as there is no house and no money to pay for care. I did call homewise to discuss but they told me they don't have to talk to me and hung up. Myself and my partner live 200 miles away and we have no idea what to do about mum or how to pay for the funeral.
I had to put this review up to warn families of elderly parents not to fall for this. This is our story and is as factual as I can say without being able to talk to Homewise.

We're sorry to hear about your loss and understand this must be a hard time for your family.
What's described here isn't a circumstance or customer we recognise, and it doesn't reflect the standards we hold ourselves to. We'd like to understand more about the situation, so we can look into this fully for you.
If you can contact us directly with your customer reference and the full address of the Home for Life Plan property (email service@homewise.co.uk or call our office on 0808 291 4523 and press 3 for the Customer Care team), we can identify if you're connected to a Homewise customer and be able to advise further.
To reassure you in the meantime, every Home for Life Plan is shaped entirely around the customer’s wishes. They tell us what they want and choose the home they want to live in. The plan is built to legally protect the customer and, while the customer doesn't own the property itself, they own the legal right to live in their chosen home, rent-free and mortgage-free, for as long as they need.
If one partner passes away, the other remains fully protected to stay in their home, for life. If the customer needs to move into full-time care, they can end their plan, and any percentage of the property's value they chose to set aside is paid to their estate.
Customers are supported from the start, and their independently chosen solicitor must confirm they are fully informed and happy with the terms of their plan.
We’re keen to understand the circumstances to be able to help in any way we can, and hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
Danielle

Thank you for your review - it's great to hear that Huyen went the extra mile to support you and your clients. However, we are Homewise and are not connected to Huyen in any way.
We are a UK company that helps people aged 60 and over move home through our Homewise "Home for Life Plan" - it sounds like your experience relates to a different business entirely.
We do hope Huyen and their team see your kind feedback on their profile instead.
Best wishes,

TrustpilotHomewise Nightmare
If I could give zero I would.
Selling my home was a nightmare because the buyer used HomeWise to help with funding. Their relaxed attitude is a problem and they are not transparent in communication. They were so slow they lost my purchaser two first-time buyers HomeWise then suggested a we buy any home company. This group wanted the buyer to drop their price by £25,000 pounds. They also asked me to cut my price by £19,000 pounds to make the figures work. I refused and the deal collapsed. I wasted nine months. I will not accept any buyer using HomeWise when I relist my house. They are hopeless you have been warned. To Homewise try talking to your employee Hannah she dealt with the purchase your end. My estate agent was Miller Countrywide.
Im sorry multiple buyers and sellers what are you talking about. There was my buyer who was using yourselves to help fund and you lost them two first time buyers due to your slow processes. I had a vacant property to move into everyone was waiting on you lot. Multiple buyers really. You couldn't get a smaller chain. Face the truth you are slow and hopeless. Your customer hasn't chosen another property they have come off the market as the experience was so traumatic for them. Your just making up stuff. And I spoke with other estate agents in my area and they all said anything to do with Homewise will end badly. And it did. At least my solicitors have some LFE and will advise their clients of this experience if they are unfortunate to be involved with you comedians.

We're sorry the sale didn't work out the way any party hoped.
Chains involving multiple buyers and sellers can be complex. Problems can arise anywhere along the chain, a property issue, a financing problem, or a change in someone's circumstances. When they do, we do everything we can to keep things moving and help our customer stay on track for the home they wanted. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, it wasn't possible on this occasion.
This isn't the typical experience. We take real pride in the support we offer customers through their moves, particularly with difficult conveyancing. In the current market, chains are taking longer and collapsing more often, often for reasons outside anyone's control.
Our customer has since chosen another home to settle in, and we wish you all the best with your own move too. Feedback matters to us, and we'll always look at how we can do better for everyone involved in a sale.
Best regards,
Danielle
