Be prepared to be wrong 😂

Dealt with Amanda in the Bishop Aukland office. It brought to mind the old Monty Python sketch “do you want the 15 minute argument or the full half hour”Honestly trying to book a simple viewing in Crawleyside turned into major argument as I apparently told her the wrong time and God forbid she’d have to actually do something like rearrange a viewing. Either she’s having a bad day or there’s a policy of trying once only in that office and sod you if you screw up 😂

Job done

After trying to sell our home with a handful of local and national estate agents who wooed us with big valuations and promises of keen buyers in our area, we've had a great experience of selling with JW Wood in a challenging market. Julie, Jonathan and the team couldn't have been more helpful with their advice, even long before we switched to Woods, and now they're being equally proactive to help us with our next move. We will definitely use JWW when moving again in future (hopefully a long time off!) and we'll save ourselves a lot of headache by starting with them next time!

Recently I consulted Tommy Evans at Homewise to discuss the viability of attaining a property to suit my future needs, within my budget. I was most impressed by his pleasant helpful manner. Never returned our calls

Consett branch OK but the sales woman to say what is going on, never gets back intouch, really bad customer service. We have left 7 voice messages and no reply from her. Terrible service

Friendly no pressure consultation

I was referred by a partner estate agent through to Homewise and had an excellent phone consultation with Kiera. She was very thorough,and was friendly and approachable throughout. I didn't feel under any pressure. After taking all the relevant details and explaining the plan, she emailed my personal illustration straight through along with a selection of properties that may be suitable for me. I have since emailed a couple of extra questions through which have been replied to promptly.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. They were dishonest and were not presenting our interests as the sellers and promoted and protected the buyer. The overall service verged on negligence and they were in violation of three of the codes of conduct that they are signatory to, and we thought about taking them to the property Ombudsman but we decided our time is too valuable to spend on them. The Durham office knew that we were so disappointed and so shocked, of how things transpired including the managing director, but not a single person picked up the phone to talk to us. They deserve 0 stars in reality. They in fact give a bad name to real estate agents. It took us that long to digest how badly they managed the whole process over an 11 months period, and only now we feel we can put a review that reflects their unprofessionalism, dishonesty and the favoring of the buyer, while representing us and the sale of our house.

Its an option for some.

I contacted Homewise, having read various reviews and they are all over Rightmove. My partner and I wish to down size our house, we live in the London area and expect to have £900,000 left after sales. A budget of £600,000 to spend on a new house. So £300,000 to invest in us. Aged 60, Homewise would give us £60,000 of the £600,000 for a 50% share in the new house. We would maintain and cover various costs and upon both deaths or care home, Homewise would sell the property. So our estate would receive 50% of the sale price. As property doubles on average every 20 years, its a very interesting option. Our present house has trebled in 17yrs.I spoke to my IFA, who had one question before we got too excited. Homewise talk about up to 59%, how do you get the 59% investment? Simple, your older than 60.Homewise and I had already exchanged a few emails and I had explained our needs. They arranged a phone call with an advisor. A very quick Q&A they estimated that at aged 60. They would offer £60,000 on a £600,000 purchase subject to T&C.The Homewise offer was not substantial enough to be worth while to us. I understand why the offer was low, if we live another 25yrs. Homewise have a long wait for any substantial return and the rules on CGT may have changed. Its not a simple investment to either party.As an option to buy a property, its very interesting and I would recommend looking at. Everyone’s situation is different.I have read some of the 1 star reviews and feel some didn't understand the product fully. A home is a big and often complex investment, so please ask questions.

Our experience with Homewise was professional and extremely helpful

Our experience with Homewise was outstanding. Kayleigh was our contact, she was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us locate a possible property to purchase. She came across empathetic to our wishes, needs and decision. We did not go with Homewise in the end as we've decided to retain 100% of ownership. The scheme is a great one but just not for us. We would consider Homewise if our situation should change in the future.
