GoogleI had a really disappointing experience with this agent. They do not answer the phone, or return messages. After multiple dropped calls (at least once it appeared as though someone picked up the phone and immediately hung up), 3 messages and one email, I finally got through after 3 days of trying to be told I "was lucky to get hold of someone" and to be told how busy they are and only have 2 staff to cover the whole Havering area. After finally being able to book a viewing, I received a call the day of the viewing to be advised the property had been let that morning. Had I got through originally, I may not have missed out on what looked like a great apartment. It's a shame that, as the tenant, you don't have a choice about which agent lists the best properties. They are clearly taking on too much work for the resource they have.

GoogleNot to be trust .... got my property for 4 months and booked 9 viewings but only 6 turn up of which 4 we need to do it ourselves and they started giving us feedback for people who didnt turn up and when started questioning they said they got feedback wrong on different properties....also be careful on signing contract as they try to hold of ur property for long and then once contract signed then I didnt even get any calls for 2 weeks and then I have to follow up and then they got some excuses .... at last I have to wait for 4 months and then kick them out as they turned our to be useless

From pre-sale through the process, then Shenfield branch of Hilbery Chaplin have been helpful, friendly and efficient, and their practical advice and involvement have been useful. They have consistently gone above and beyond what was expected, and have made this a far less stressful sale than normal. I would have no hesitation in using them again.

GoogleThey have been by far the nicest letting agents I have ever dealt with. Everyone was happy to help and guided me the whole way from looking at flats to getting the keys. I haven't got a bad word to say. Wish all agents were like you guys. Thanks Dave

GoogleWorst estate agent ever ! Put the rent up every year and given reason why like how they will improve your property been waiting 6 months for these improvements that have never happened. Your property manager never answers the phone unless it benefits them. They never fix anything ! I've been living in my property nearly 2 years and not once have a property inspection yet they charge the landlord saying they do it. Just rubbish and rude can't wait to move out mine so I don't have to deal with them again

GoogleVery unhelpful and unprofessional company to deal with. I would advise any landlord looking for a good, reliable letting agent to avoid Hilbery Chaplin. They pride themselves on how long they have been in business. But by the looks of it even after a hundred years of business they still are completely useless. Do not use this company, they will over charge and do a slap dash job. Lucky if you get tenants who will actually pay their rent. Good luck if you decide to use these cowboys. I certainly will never be again and will be advising everyone I know;other landlords or people looking to sell to avoid using any Hilbery Chaplin office.

Googlesame as all above reviews total disgrace to the legal profession - i'm a client with a ground rent dispute but living outside of the U.K missed payment due to sale of ground rent without prior notice between 2 parties. Phoned to resolve and after conversation with Dan Thornton who was ENTIRELY UNREASONABLE looks like i will be paying £450+ in additional charges for the sending of a single templated letter..UTTERLY DISGUSTING...AVOID THIS COMPANY!

GoogleHad a lease extension carried out by Rebecca Say who was very professional to deal with, process was all explained in detail, Freeholder chased regularly to ensure timescale was kept to and completion carried out with time to spare. Would certainly use again going forward and recommend.
