The team at Feitherstone Leigh in Richmond might have saved me more money than I think. As a recent arrival in the UK and with two cats, I had a horrible time trying to find a home. Once I had signed a contract with another lettings agency and landlord, I got a cancellation just 2 hours before moving which entirely broke my plans. No reason was given other than the landlord wanted to backed out (so apparently the other agency lied to us and the landlord never signed) That very same afternoon we went to visit a property in Richmond. We got greeted in time and we had the usual tour of the location. Immediately decided to put down an offer. We explained what happened to us to the property presenter and we felt there was actual empathy from her. That very same night they got to work and our offer was accepted. Next day we began the reference check process which was the biggest bottleneck. It only lasted 3 working days but you can imagine we tried to do our best to move as soon as possible, as paying for a pet friendly hotel was damaging to our budget. We finally moved the following friday, so it was 6 full working days (9 calendar days) to move into the property. Etienne Villalobos was in charge of our case and he demonstrated interest every single day, and had to put up with our impatience. We did not know if we could trust Feitherstone Leigh so we had to be pushy. Now we live in a beautiful 2 flat maisonette in the middle of Richmond downtown, one block away from the station, surrounded by shops, and super close to the Thames. The flat is beautiful, in well shape, all wooden floors, and they had no issues accepting our 2 pets. Things happen for a reason. Thanks to getting cancelled on the other property, we got to know this one from FL that was vastly superior and much bigger, in an excellent area. Etienne continued to show interest and help us in whatever we needed after we started our tenancy. The property management team usually takes a day or two to reply our requests. We did notify them of several small issues we found and they approved the fixes. Overall content with the experience and I hope that we have an excellent year. Thanks to FL Richmond, Etienne, Melanie and the rest of the team for helping us when we needed it the most.PositiveProfessionalism

Unfortunately we had a very negative experience with this agency which meant we lost a property mid way through the process and meant we lost money on legal fees/ a lot of our time was wasted. Due to the lack of transparency by the agents the property we were trying to purchase didn't have the correct HTB funding available despite being advertised as such. The agents also seemed to know nothing about the HTB scheme. To make matters worse the director at the agency told us we would be able to continue with the purchase once this was sorted only to go and re-advertise the property, without telling us this was the case and we found out online. She then gave poor excuses as to why it was re-advertised which made absolutely no sense and we had to contact the developer directly to get our deposit back after it had been re-advertised which was also an awful experience. Really poor professionalism and transparency making it clear why people find it difficult to trust estate agents who always seem to have the developer or sellers interests.

She drove the sales process with her personal attention, sound property skills and honed experience of the right buyer profile, the right price and the proactive approach required to achieve a timely, efficient sale. Sophie, Jo and the rest of her team were such a welcome change from the 'list it and wait' approach of many rivals. In a mixed market, I doubt we would have achieved our goal with just a 'reactive', low-resource agent.

We purchased our first home through Featherstone Leigh just recently. We obviously don't have anything to compare with, but from our perspective everything went really smoothly, from the first viewing (where we were shown around by a lovely young man called Stephen who was enthusiastic without being over-bearing) all through to completion. Featherstone Leigh were always quick in passing on any questions we had and getting answers. They also provided prompting which was helpful whenever we'd forgotten to do something, or if our solicitor was being slow. We were mostly in the hands of Matthew Aboud, who was great. Very professional, very responsive and nicely enthusiastic when it became clear things were going well. All this meant we completed in good time and are now very much enjoying our first home.
