Excellent service. ELR were a joy to work with and were calm and supportive throughout. They kept us fully informed at all times. They liaised with our both sides and with the respective solicitors in a mature and professional manner sorting out any problems that arose. We highly recommend them.

The people at ELR are very competent and friendly and they certainly know the market in my area very well. I am very happy to recommend them to others.

We bought a house through ELR Hathersage and they were brilliant. The purchase was not the simplest but Holly in particular was fantastic and went above and beyond to help us and push things forward. Thank you ELR and Holly!

Nine years ago we sold and bought property through ELR Hathersage office, and were most impressed with the service. We have, in 2025, gone through a similar process, choosing ELR Hathersage again, and have not been disappointed. Between them, Caroline, Kathryn, Holly and Tim have provided a professional yet personal and efficient service, all delivered very pleasantly. We would have no hesitation in using ELR again, should the need arise.

Finding ourselves in the sad and difficult position of selling my deceased younger brothers house, our experience with ELR has been first class. Olivia has simply been amazing. Always professional but also caring and comforting at the same time. Sorting problems eg locksmiths, professional advice, feedback, prompt responses to never ending questions, communicating with family abroad and sense of humour. We had a very good outcome with the house sale which was due to the great teamwork from ELR and positivity that they gave. There was no particular emotional stress from the house sale, but, I'm guessing that was due to Olivia shielding us and being so great at her job. Thank you everyone.

Great experience of buying my property through ELR. Even though I was the buyer they kept me up to date on my purchase and always friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

I would not recommend using ELR as I do not believe that they can be trusted. They were the original agents when I was selling a house in the area but we terminated our contract with them after lots of problems arose when they completely changed their personnel in their Bakewell office without warning. (Problems such as being completely unresponsive and showing the house to people who weren't interested in it: surely estate agency 101 to know which houses you are selling). Under the terms of the agreement with them, we were liable to pay them commission if exchange happened within six months of termination, so exchange was delayed to avoid that cost. Nevertheless, ELR sought payment of their fees via our new estate agents. Seeking payment when you are not entitled to it is dodgy indeed! ELR did not respond to my enquiries about why they had done this. For these reasons, I cannot recommend them
I am sorry Mr P, I completely refute any of these issues raised are about trust, I think that is unfair. Whilst I accept we had changes of staff which may have affected the consistency of service for a short while, this was exactly the same for the subsequent agent you instructed. ELR introduced the buyer of the property and successfully sold your buyers house, to enable them to buy your home. I understand the change of staff may have been unsettling, but ultimately ELR found you a buyer in a challenging housing market. An agreement was made between ELR and your subsequent agent to split the agency fees. Given our work was for you was completely unpaid and some of our staff were left deeply upset with your manner, I think it is a unfair to offer a 1 star review. If you would like to discuss this matter any further, please feel free to call me.

We both let and sold our house through ELR. Richard Attwood was our first contact. He was always extremely professional and thorough and produced a high quality video together with photographs of the house. These were used for both letting and selling. They were followed by a large of number of photographs at the end of the letting period which were very reassuring as we were not in a position to view the house for ourselves. Judy Hudson handled the sale and proved to be both efficient and helpful at all stages. We thoroughly recommend the Bakewell Office and all of its staff for its attention and professionalism.

Lots of incorrect information, errors and delays.
Dear L 65, We're extremely sorry to find out that your experience with ELR hasn't worked out for you. Perhaps you could expand on your issues for us or call the office to discuss. We cannot find you on our database so it may be this review was made in error. Kind regards, ELR

Not the best experience
Lots of incorrect information, errors and delays from the Bakewell office. Straightforward conveyance took twice as long as it should have. Very stressful!

Longstanding name in estate agency in the area with extensive knowledge. The property in the Hope Valley needed major repair following flood damage & I instructed ELR to sell mid renovation. It was a protracted sale but the guidance offered was invaluable even though I found the eventual purchaser! Thanks to Tim, Carloline and Holly in the Hathersage office.

I recently bought a house through ELR Hathersage and had an excellent experience. Caroline, Holly, and Kathryn were all fantastic to work with. They were professional, responsive, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Their expertise and dedication made buying a home a smooth and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend ELR Hathersage and their wonderful team!
