I have always had a good professional service from Candlesriggs Branch Glasgow. I have rented out my property for a few years now and they have always been attentive to the tenants needs and the Landlords needs. One time we had a very difficult tenant and they managed the tenant extremely well which i was grateful for. i will always use them for future leasing.

Overall a positive experience, to be honest the only reason I gave four instead of five stars is that it took a few days to get a for sale sign up, and by then we had already had interest noted, no complaints from my side as the communication was good and the colleagues were great , but my house sold very quickly so YMMV.

5 star service from Shona and her team. We actually sold our house via another estate agents and only came to know Shona as we were buying a house from her. Her service far exceeded our own agent who seemed to forget about us along the way. She kept us up to date and just checked in regularly to ensure everything was on track. A fantastic experience with countrywide estate agents, Burnside. From the original survey when realistic valuations were discussed and no false promises regarding asking prices. Once this was done we were contacted by Shona who explained everything to us regarding the asking price etc and was constantly in touch updating us with any information. I would highly recommend both Shona and Jacqui as they were always upfront and honest with progress and what efforts they were making to drum up interest and get feedback from potential buyers. Altogether a very stress free experience for us regarding the sale of our house.

Avoid selling with Countrywide Glasgow - West End Sales if you want to be sure you will sell for the highest available offer. Here was my experience with them. I am currently a first time buyer. The number one priority for me is that the property is in a good school catchment area and that any other schools in the area are also good. That way when my son starts school next year he will have the best chance of attending a good school. This has proven to be quite difficult, it does seem after all of the research I have put into Glasgow primary schools that it is rare that 2 or more good schools are next to each other. Anyway eventually I found a property online on Raeberry Street, North Kelvinside that met my requirements. The problem was I work 50 hours a week and live in Edinburgh so getting to Glasgow for a viewing was taking me a few days. I did have a viewing booked that I had to cancel. I called Countrywide to cancel but informed them that I am very interested in the property, but I didn't want to make an offer until I had a viewing. So I asked them to make a note of interest for me and to call me if any other offers are going to be made. They said this was no problem and they would put me down as a verbal note of interest. They confirmed that they would contact me if any other offers or notes of interest were made so I would have the opportunity to bid too before it sold. A few days later i went online to look at the property, I was confused and disappointed to see that it was "sold subject to contract". I called up to find out what was going on and why I hadn't been contacted before it was sold. The explanation I got was that because it was a verbal note of interest they did not contact me because it has to be an official note of interest made through a solicitor. This would have been very useful information if they had informed me before the property had been sold and when I had previously called. I then asked what the purpose was of a verbal note of interest if contact is only made on an official note of interest. The reply I got basically said a verbal note of interest is pointless. If I had been told this when I originally called about my note of interest I would have made an official note of interest through my solicitor. What they told me though when I originally called was completely contradictory to this. I also have reason to believe that this property sold for under the market value. I was willing to pay the market value so it seems that countywide failed to get the seller the money that they should have got them. Considering the huge amount of money that an agent receives when a property sells, this level of incompetence is not acceptable. I missed out on the opportunity they should have given me to make an offer, and the seller lost money. For the record I do want to say that the person that answered the phone James Robertson was very professional and apologetic. Regardless though I am very unhappy with this company. They sell a lot of properties so as a buyer it is difficult to avoid them. But if you are a seller I would recommend finding a different agent to sell with. You will be paying them a lot of money so make sure you choose an agent that will do what you pay them to do.
