GoogleRented a property through Countrywide West End for over two years and have never experienced such unprofessional and condescending communication from any company, avoid this branch like the plague. To give them a single star is ludicrous, also don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews, they ask you for the review when you first move in and things are on good terms, they get a bonus for the reviews each year. Before we moved in, the letting agent giving the viewing warned us the property wasn't in great condition, including mould issues, and advised us to “keep the windows open year-round”, ridiculous advice in Scotland. We were told that stained, mouldy walls and pencil-marked paintwork would be repainted as soon as possible. That never happened. Throughout the tenancy, we replaced a rusted, mould-ridden microwave, upgraded broken furniture (with permission), and returned the flat in better condition than we found it, yet no grace was given. Our letting agent changed almost every other month, making it near impossible to get consistent communication. During inspections we repeatedly reported the same issues, which were constantly ignored. Despite this, the West End office tried to deduct over £700 from our deposit, including a charge for a cleaning that supposedly took place before we even moved in and another day's rent as we had been delayed due to a literal national storm (Storm Eowyn), we phoned them up and had been told it would be no issue, then 10 minutes later received another call to be told that instead they would charge us. We informed them immediately and returned the keys the very next morning. No flexibility, no understanding. Thankfully, the deposit protection scheme saw through their inflated claims and reduced the charges significantly, confirming that much of what was demanded was unjustified. If you're unfortunate enough to rent through this office, be prepared: they’ll treat you politely when signing the lease, but the moment you try to leave, expect stonewalling, delays, and aggressive attempts to maximise deductions. Our deposit dispute took nearly four months. Document everything, take photos, and follow up constantly, otherwise, nothing gets done. If you're a landlord, perhaps you'll be pleased, they know how to extract maximum value from even mould-ridden flats. But if you're a renter, do yourself a favour and go absolutely anywhere else.

GoogleWe had a mortgage meeting with Andrew and after sending over all our evidence for a mortgage in principle he said he would get back to us by the end of the week and we never heard from him again. Emailed a few times but got no reply. Very disappointed

GoogleHad a sticky and tricky set of obstacles to jump over when selling my flat - nought to do with Countrywide. Sophie Aitken was superb. Drilled to the source of the problem and methodically solved the issues. She was my main contact, always returned my calls, quickly responded to questions and saw the transaction through to a satisfactory conclusion. Well done Sophie you are a doer.

They guided us from the initial viewing to move-in day in just three weeks, and were so helpful. The flat had an issue with a utility license on move-in day which they sorted straight away - class service!

GoogleOur experience so far has been one of many ups and downs however what I will say is the saving grace of our situation has been Lorna. Having sold our house for the 2nd time after the 1st falling through after 5 months through a buyers sheer negligence, she has resolved situations that solicitors have sat and let run down the 1st time in this 2nd sale. Always pleasant and plenty of banter on the phone, a real asset to have at the forefront of the Estate Agent. Shoutout to Aidan and Olivia aswell.

GoogleKirkintilloch like many of their branches once they have done a deal they dont care. Went into branch Kirsten quite happily chewing the fat and not even thinking Im a professional. I am collecting keys and the Valuer listening to a colleague planning her social life instead of looking after Buyer and Seller. No that would interfere with her social life. Phoned earlier on week and everything a trial and chore. No wonder Estate Agents get a bad rep. Seriously I wish I had the luxury of doing the bare minimum. World has gone nuts time and place and standards have stayed at lowest levels ... Covid and any other excuse is the fall back. We live in a era where it would good to not have to complain and expect professionalism . Yet at no time did she think you know what this guy is stressed and buying a new house apologise . We all make mistakes and its about accountability . I may have overreacted however I am the customer and Countrywide's liveliehood is about paying customers. I sold that property via Keys in October, Countrywide did not even feature in my shortlist. They did an amazing Job sellling property for fantastic price allowing me to downsize. Its not what you say its what you do that matters .

GoogleI was originally dealing with Kirsten who really supported me and my family through getting our application completed and assured me everything would be ok and went above and beyond to help. Due to the Christmas period Eilidh took over and got our tenancy agreement sent over asap to assure us everything was sorted for our move on the 3rd!
