Nancy Markou from Central Estates has been amazingly helpful since she became the property manager of the house we are renting. She is so lovely to speak to and very easy and efficient to deal with. She will respond straight away to emails which is very important to us and is great for getting things done ASAP. We sold our flat through Central this year and we are so pleased we went with them. The MVP by far was Richard Maher, who was absolutely vital to our sale going through. Rich put in so much time and effort, he went above and beyond. He provided fantastic experienced advice to us throughout the entire process and counselled us when we were unsure how to proceed. He sometimes felt like our therapist. Trying to move home through Covid has been an unusually challenging experience. Rich has been there every step of the way to make it happen. He helped us navigate the uncertainty of lockdown, he quickly found us another buyer after a Covid-related pull out, he helped us secure the property we were now buying on the other side of Walthamstow. I would NOT recommend Central Estates to anyone. The agency made us feel rushed to move in without parts of the house maintenance being completed. We’ve had to chase the agency/landlord for a number of things including something as basic as a front door number which we in the end ended up buying and placing on the door ourselves. We’ve constantly had to chase for works to be completed with the agency property manager but not getting back to us unless we chased things. We’ve had builders coming in regularly at the beginning which could have been avoided during a pandemic. We were informed by the agency that only 1 contractor would come to get a quote for paint work which ended up being 2 builders attending without our notice. We left the property with paint works still not being completed which was way overdue. My advise to anyone renting from the agency is to make sure the property is of a good completed standard and make sure you are not rushed to move in. Furthermore, staff need to work on their phone mannerism. After moving, a member of staff suggested I send an item from kent to London via Uber to the agency, an item we sourced ourselves which did not come with the property. Absolutely ridiculous. Once your money is taken, unfortunately many agencies and landlord don’t care about dealing with tenants and that is exactly the experience we had. Dealing with Central Estates has not been as smooth as we would expect.NegativeProfessionalism
