GoogleBuying a house is not a nice experience anymore (compared to past generation's experiences). It's pretty cut throat.
These guys had us over a barrel several times - first house was a confused contract race - second, left in the rain for an hour on the day of viewing, when the agent finally turned up without a key (forgivable but soggy) then in the final moments on the 6th house's day of exchange - a 20k bump on the price (they might get a flat rate - but sellers are mislead and their greed is feed). I know it's just another day for many agents but to a first time buyer this is no small fry - it's a pretty big life-savings-deal when buying a home for your family. That's quickly forgotten in a market bloated by demand.
You'll get a house eventually but you'll have to be a nuisance to get any attention. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. So be extra squeaky.
Pretty savvy now from the experience. But for you first time buyers out there - don't expect much help.

GoogleVery rude and will not be dealing with them anymore. Not worth the hassle.
They will not be helpful to suit your needs as a client. As a buyer I will not be looking at their properties anymore and will never do business with them when selling my home.

GoogleMoving from Cardiff to London was not an easy task, however, due to Central's sound knowledge of the local area and reliable service, this helped enormously! Found a wonderful flat far sooner than I thought possible, in a price range I could actually afford. I was stunned! Truly friendly staff, who knew what they were doing, especially Bhavin and David. I would definitely recommend.

GoogleWe were first time buyers and new to the process, so expected to learn a lot as we went. One thing we knew going into it was that the agents are not working for us, so we didn't think we would be getting any favours from them.
As expected , we got no favours. However we did get a *LOT* of pressure to use in house services. An amount of pressure that I found to be unethical, not to mention dishonest.
I'm sure they get referral fee's for this so I can see their motivations, but the unscrupulous nature by which they went after this ( telling us that the vendor had stipulated that we must use their in house broker) left us with no choice but to open a separate channel of communication with the seller to check that he wouldn't pull out if we used our own mortgage broker. ( we were lucky to have a receptive seller ).
As it was, in the end they had very little to do with our transaction, and any involvement they did have, (once they could no longer get more money from the deal), was slow and handled with zero courtesy.
Two things I like in life are manners and honesty - Central do not display either of these qualities in their professional capacity.
A bottle of champagne when we picked up the keys was a nice touch , but it didn't make up for what had gone before and I wouldn't recommend their services

GoogleMy friend and I dealt with the rentals team for two years. They were at best inefficient; slow to reply (if at all), unhelpful, things were always the responsibility of the staff member who happened to be on annual leave when we called. For the first 6 months we got letters saying we were behind on our rent when we always paid on time.
At worst: They told our landlady they'd had vital work done on the house when they hadn't (blocked guttering that caused damage to the wall). They told our landlady we had signed a new contract when we hadn't.
Best thing to happen was when we got our landlady's contact details from a neighbour and started conversing with her directly. I am grateful that I have the choice never to deal with them again.

GoogleAvoid like the plague. Total cowboys
I was part of a contract chasing experience - our offer accepted, survey done, fees paid - only to find out we were one of many.
They basically fed us a load of lies, told us the previous offer fell through and the developer wanted a quick sale - to then demand more money only a month later. A quick bit of research showed us the property was in fact owned by one of Central's Directors and this was a common scam to try and pitch purchasers against each other.
If you happen to be purchasing a newly developed property from them - save yourself a headache and check it isn't owned by Central Estates or their other company 'Castle Barrett'. It will end in tears - trust me!

GoogleInitially very friendly, once our offer was accepted, they very swiftly turned cold and blatantly annoyed whenever we called.
Constant harassment (a call every other day) despite continuous reassurances that things were being done (i.e. mortgage papers and solicitors). Whenever confronted about this, they claimed it was the vendor that was harassing them in turn (and??).
Tried to bully us into not doing a building survey, claiming that the vendor was losing their patience and they would have to put the house back on the market.
When some critical repairs were identified in the building survey, they tried using scare mongering tactic to discourage us from renegotiating the price: Richard, the director, did not even bother to reply to our email proposing the negotiation, instead he just copied us in an internal email to the sales staff saying "vendor will not accept this, I am selling other houses in the area at a lot more than that - tell me if I need to put it back on market")
Needless to say they won't have our custom when we'll sell our house on. Plenty of agencies in the area...

GoogleI’ve recently put my property on for sale with Central and have been impressed. I had an open day on my flat on Saturday and have already received an offer which I will probably accept. Nicola and James have been great.
So far so good!

GoogleBrilliant service, rented my properties without any issues and always kept me informed of any problems. The management is very professional and would truly recommend them. There are a lot of estate agents out there that promise this and that but fail to deliver but this firm has kept its promise. Well done keep it up.

GoogleI have nothing but great things to say about Central Estates and, in particular, Rich in sales.
After several terrible experiences with other local agents (no names but basically most in E17), Rich helped us find the perfect house for my pregnant wife and I. Central are the only agent I've ever dealt with who actually listened to our wants and needs. Instead of wasting our time with regular viewings of things that didn't interest us, they only showed us properties that matched our criteria. Due to the forthcoming birth of our baby, they also helped push for an extremely quick and smooth purchase.
I have several friends who have also had matching service from Central.
Fantastic agency! Bet that's not said very often about Estate agents!!!

GoogleI'd thought I'd try letting a property via Central being a small agent I thought they would make more of an effort. How wrong I was this is a very unprofessional company, who once they have your money you will have a nightmare dealing with them. They are unable to collect rents on time, tenants have issues reporting problems, their inventories are child like and to add insult to injury they lost the management set of keys to the house. The complaints process is beyond a joke....I still have not been paid for their failure. Do not use....I warn you.....interesting to see most of the positive reviews only have one review just for Central and nothing else..if you're going to post fake reviews you may want make more effort.

GoogleCentral Estates are the worst letting agent I have ever dealt with.
They take your money and do nothing for it. They take weeks to reply to emails, if at all. They don't check properties properly after being vacated. Working with them was stressful and ultimately cost us money in having to repair damage to our flat.

GoogleAll the negative reviews below are accurate.
I had a terrible time as a tenant with this agency.
They left repairs unfixed for weeks and they also made errors with my rent payment so the landlord thought I wasn't paying properly.
They also tried to charge me for a check-out when they didn't check me in.
After I refused access to the property because they didn't give me 24 hours notice, I was told that they would take the spare key and come in anyway.
Stay away.
