We're generally pleased with our property overall, although we have an ongoing issue with our garage that has taken a long time to try and resolve. The sales team and site managers were great. However the whole purchase of our new home has been soured by the lack of a direct footpath into the town. When we originally purchased the property we were told that planning was underway to arrange a link to the current footpath along the Crediton Road, however we were unaware that this would be a path through two active developments i.e. Building sites. As it stands there are no current plans to arrange for a footpath to be made along the Crediton Road, with all parties (Barratts/local council/highways agencies) claiming that the other is responsible. The lack of a direct footpath has caused many people, young and old, to walk along a busy stretch of road. It's an accident waiting to happen. It's such a shame that this matter has caused us to feel unhappy with our new home and it's location.

Stay clear unless you want a lot of problems and issues with ur home I spent more time going back to my house for trades to rectify problems then I did at work it cost me days of lost wages witch they will not help you with or compensate you and the money I lost I needed to have to actually pay for the house and bills so very bad on barrets as they said in beginning they would help but switched after they took ur money and the jobs that they done where done to such a poor standard that some times they where back multiple times to do the same job and customer services are not interested at all I would not be buying agin from barrets and would not recommend them

Not compliant with Part S of the Building Regulations in relation to EV charging. No charging points setup in new residential development of 100s of new houses. No ground cabling provided if you wish to install an EV charger to your house. On top, installing a EV charger could thousands of pounds to carry out the necessary ground works, as you can't just fix to your house due to health and safety concerns due to the way parking spaces are allocated to house owners. I wonder how the government aims to reach their net zero emissions target, when the builders are not complying with the regulations even in the new build and how the local councils are approving development plans that makes it difficult to own an electric vehicle.

We recently bought a property with Barratt in Leith and we had a great experience from the day one. Our sales advisor's name is Danielle and she's been incredibly supportive and always available to answer my million questions. Buying a new property can be very stressful, but with Barratt the whole process went smoothly and in a blink of an eye (almost) we are now the owners of a gorgeous flat. Nice small development on edge of Swanage. Staff member at show homes office wasn't very helpful though.

Recently moved in here. Cannot fault the service from beginning to end, thank you for your great support Lorna you’re a star. The property itself is absolutely excellent, very minor snags. The build quality, fixtures and fittings are of very good quality. Best new build we have bought 👍
