I’d had some bad experiences with Romans in the past, (as a prospective buyer I was given incorrect information about whether a garage was included, and also as the neighbour of their tenants with a leaking roof issue, which took an age for anyone to get in touch re fixing it), but accepted that over time employees change etc and that this didn’t necessarily reflect how they operate now, some years later. Earlier this year, I visited the offices with my friend, who is clearly very vulnerable, about her tenancy. She had some questions about her notice period, and she was obviously struggling to speak, but the tone, manner and lack of respect in the way she was spoken to was absolutely shocking. I didn’t say anything at the time because we were trying to ascertain what the next steps were and she needed my help. I was dismayed to note that when I started speaking on her behalf there was a shift in tone and helpfulness. I didn’t address the incredibly rude and degrading way she was spoken to at the time as I did not want to embarrass her and we were trying to begin the process of her moving out. She had asked Romans multiple times about the broken radiators, no one ever fixed them and when she moved out it was apparent that this had had a detrimental impact on her health. Would not recommend and disappointed that my initial impression of Romans from years gone by remains.

We completed today on the sale of a house in Wokingham. Everyone we dealt with at Romans was friendly and helpful. We lost our first buyer but they quickly got us back on the market, finding another buyer within a couple of days. Offer to completion feels like a slow process, but we were kept informed. Alyson, our move manager, always replied the same day to any emails and regularly chased all involved to keep us on track. We would happily recommend Romans and use them again.

I have just completed on selling my house today in Winnersh. Throughout the process (not a straightforward one regarding my circumstances) I found Romans to be highly professional and approachable. My main contact was Ian Lewis. Ian has been more than an agent in my opinion. His methodical thinking and controlled approach went above and beyond just selling a house. We chose Romans as their brand is pretty well known in the area and the package they offered was pretty impressive. We were in the unfortunate position of having to sell our parents house after they passed away and Romans knew straight away the best way to get a sale from virtual tours to an open house. Dan and his team kept in contact every week updating us and the service they have provided is amazing and made this awful job so much easier than it could have been.
