Sales Process Disappointing

Having purchased 7 new homes this was by far the worst customer experience - I genuinely believe it is cultural in the sales/marketing process having felt as though they were doing me a favour in selling me a home - lack of clear engagement, moving of goalposts and general communication was poor.The house itself is beautiful and the builders/site team are fantastic as usually are construction teams - Gareth in particular was very attentive and responsive.Happy to provide more feedback as it is definitely a blind spot !

Firstly, this small retirement development is beautifully designed, with houses spacious enough for those of us who’ve been lucky to live in good sized family houses for some years. PLEASE BUILD MORE! There IS a demand for them rather than the somewhat generic apartments cropping up everywhere! This complex has an upmarket appeal, with beautifully landscaped grounds backed up by regular maintenance, which makes all the difference to its continued attractive appearance. The spec inside is equally high and very well thought out for older people. As to the staff, they have been hot on the case of any blips, extremely patient with those of us who struggle a little with new technology and always courteous, with the highest professional standards. Penny Ingram’s qualities in particular are exemplary. She is very approachable, knowledgeable and fun! I feel I could ask her anything, however, trivial and not feel stupid. She’s an excellent communicator with the guys on site and the best possible conduit between the client (me!) & the Jones / Emerson team. All in all, moving here has been a delightful experience and I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who feels a little daunted by the thoughts of downsizing. You won’t regret it!

We moved into our new build at Hillside Way a couple of weeks ago and we love our new home. Our sales advisor, Sandra, kept us updated throughout the process and continues to check in with us even after the move. The site manger, Liam, has also been great and is promptly sorting the minor snags found so far. A positive experience to date.

The few minor issues raised were dealt with efficiently thank you, timing agreed to inspect and resolve where necessary. Gary arrived on the day agreed and did a great job all fixed to my satisfaction even going the extra mile with a smile to ensure I was happy with the jobs - which made all the difference on gloomy wet day.

Don't do it.

I bought a house with JH and moved in last April. There were many issues, from the house not being completed properly by the move-in date (e.g. not enough paving slabs as outlined on the plans and no proper silicone/lining on the bathtub leading to leaks and stains on the downstairs ceiling) to not even having my first snag list completed yet, after 13 months of being in the house. The company uses lockdown as a reason for not being able to get the basics done but they have been able to build a whole new estate up the road within the same timeframe. Myself and my neighbour don't have gas mprn and serial numbers and this was left to JH to sort as we cannot actually sort it ourselves through the energy companies, even though we have tried countless times, so we are a year in without having had this sorted yet. The road on the estate has not been tarmac'd yet and the surface at one point was actually dangerous. If I knew 18 months ago what I know now, I would not have bought a house with JH.

Come to Westlow Heath in Congleton and see all the skips outside the houses.This is because they don’t prepare the ground which is clay before they put your grass down.They then refuse to come to your property in the winter and wait for summer.Then they try to say its boggy because of maintenance.The man who inspects is rude and insulting and told us “I’m not customer service am I”.Everyone is having to spend thousands of pounds on astroturf or getting rid of grass all together as the ground just isnt good enough for putting grass on..Smoke and mirrors at the show room.You wait months on end also for any major leeks to be inspected let alone sorted.The he doesn’t turn up on numerous appointments.Plenty of excuses though after you have called asking why they haven’t turned up.The whole of the estate have a whats app group and I would really stay away or be prepared to spend thousands on your garden as they will do NOTHING to help.There is NO customer service not even at the top of the company.Just rudeness and arrogance.Don’t be fooled by the lovely plants at the show houses.Smoke and mirrors. Oh and two skips have already gone this week after one house had gardeners there for 2 weeks to sort the garden out!!!!.If they prepared their ground properly this would not be a problem.Even the gardeners shook their heads and told us after our 3rd lot of grass that it needs ground work (not just drainage in half the garden and patching up)that Jones are not prepared to pay for!!!.The gardeners do what they are paid to do.Jones won’t pay.They now have new gardeners but that won’t change anything.Do a job properly or not at all!!.

I moved into a small cottage on Sanctuary Mews, Handforth, March 2022. This is a gated community, set in pleasant surroundings, with a lot of security. At the sales office Julie gave help and support whilst I sold my home and purchased this property, also helping me to settle into my new home. The site Managers - Mike and John- along with Emerson’s Customer Services make sure any issues connected with a new build are addressed with care and thoughtfulness. At the Club House, with its excellent gym and social areas, Jo and Mel make everyone feel welcome and looked after. They organise social events and classes. The community is friendly and supportive. It is a good place to live.

Don’t do it but an older property! Utter shambles of a company Since buying Our forever home we’ve had nothing but problems mainly with the so called customer care team, don’t return calls blank your emails, we still have outstanding snagging going on two years now, and in that time we’ve seen 2 customer care managers, and still not getting anywhere, the contractors work seems to be on par with a inexperienced diy’er so have to carry out repairs multiple times !

Appalling homes

Appalling homes, appalling company. Our build was delayed for months. Once in, we've discovered they're useless builders using cheap materials and incompetent subcontractors. Problem after problem after problem. We've had scaffolding up twice to repair our leaky roof. The roof still leaks! The top floor toilet was not fitted properly and leaked on to the floor below. The middle floor toilet was not fitted properly and meant our water usage and charges sky-rocketed. Internal door handles breaking. External doors not fitted properly and let in the cold. The kitchen is cheap and falling to pieces. I could go on. Shameful company, dreadful customer service, who'll probably respond to this feedback with more lies and a promise to address problems. I've contacted the NHBC a number of times, it seems this is the best way of getting action. I cannot write anything positive about the company. They should be ashamed.

Absolutely shocking.Customer Service ,What is that?.Purchased a property with a garden that has bumps (waves)like the ocean,Neighbours gardens completely sodden and flooded.Grass is the cheapest possible backing showing throughout.Jones like to do a “60 minute makeover”(smoke and mirrors springs to mind).Its to give you the view of everything being perfect, but Underneath everything is done on the cheap.Amtico with no Damp proof membrane, any fitter would advise this is done on a new build!!.Take your money and run.Customer service ignore you for weeks and weeks.One neighbour contacted Mr Jones for him to basically not care at all.What a fantastic business you are running.!!!!.We wish we hadn’t given you a penny. All gardens are now being redone and a lot of flooring where people have bought through Jones are being replaced.And you want to give this company your money?.
