TrustpilotParkers Properties Review
Our review is solely based on our experience with the letting agent and maybe different from the experience of others. We have recently moved to a new flat managed by the property agent and this is our experience.1. We were instructed to pick the key at 1:00pm but upon arriving at their office, they mentioned that the key is not ready until 3pm. This should have been communicated to us prior the agreed time but we have not received any calls or emails. We are also expecting an agent would accommodate us to the property and explain stuff about the flat and building (i,e garbage bins, boiler controls, etc), but none of those happened. There were no inventory listing provided as well.2. There were 1 to 2 days delayed response from the agent from which seems to be frustrating when you need urgent responses.3. It was also mentioned that the property agent are the one managing the property and all matters relating to the property should be communicated to them and then they will liaise with the landlord. We followed the same protocol as mentioned by the property agent however we're not sure if this is actually communicated to the landlord as we are not copied in any of the emails or communication which is really disappointing since we have agreed on 12 month fixed term of the contract. We are hoping that this can be remediated or atleast we can be copied in the communication with the landlord so we can get the landlord's side and to get comfort that things really have been communicated to him/herWe are hoping this can be remediated for the rest of our stay in the property. The property is really nice, however this does not compensate the poor service of the property agent.

Hi RoyThank you for your feedback, but I do feel your 1 star review is a little unfair for the following reasons:1. We instructed you to collect the keys after 1pm, but unfortunately having arrived at 1pm, the keys were not available. This was due to a delay in the keys being returned by the inventory clerk, for which I can only apologise for the inconvenience this caused. I understand you were able to collect the keys a short while later at 3pm.2. Whilst we endeavor to respond immediately, unfortunately this is not always possible. I personally don't think 24-48 hours for a response to a general query is unreasonable.3. As we manage the property on behalf of the Landlord, you would not have direct contact with them. I'm afraid it would defeat the object of us managing the property for our client if you were cc'd into our communications with them, giving you the opportunity to bypass Parkers and contact the Landlord directly. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Naturally we want to ensure you have a pleasant experience throughout your tenancy, so welcome any further feedback.Mark BrookerLettings Director

TrustpilotAbsolutely appalling branch
This is why I absolutely DON'T recommend using the services of Parkers Estate Agents. If you don't want your energy wasted and peace of mind shot to pieces, don't use their services.Never have I seen lack of common sense and complete disregard of people's time taken off work, effort in research and risk going out in these hard times.I contacted Parker's after seeing an advert on Rightmove on Monday 14/12/2020 inquiring about a 4 bed in Reading, called them up and asked if it's available, the lady who picked up (H.) told me it is available for viewing and asked me when can I see it. We agreed on the time and day 5:45pm on Tuesday 15/12/2020. I asked (H.) exactly what are the steps needed if I like the property and would like to sign it, while she was asking all the usual screening questions. She said I would call them up and get the process started online on the same day. And that another person has already put an offer but the landlord would see the offer(s) later and decide. Went on to add that my chances are better since we're only 2 people looking to move.I specifically said, I don't want to be going all the way there from South of London zone 5 to Reading in the west to have the other potential tenants' take it the next day before I even decide, because it's happened to me before. (H.) said don't worry we'll let you know on the day so you don't go through that and save the trouble of coming to viewing it.The next day, on the day of the viewing, 15mins into my train reaching Reading station I get a text alert that a voicemail left by (H.) to tell me "Hi there, it's (H.) from Parker's. Unfortunately the property has been let. Please call me back."I call while onboard the train in absolute shock, her colleague picks up, I explain that I'm on my way and ask to verify that the property has been let. He responded with yes I'm afraid so. I plead my cas to no resolve or offer of any outcome other than sorry it's been let, the live version.I call again after I walk out the station, ask the colleague who picked up to let (H.) call me back. She calls, to reiterate her message again. Absolutely no resolve once again to anything we spoke about before, anything that can be done for a counter offer from my end, no other properties to see while I'm already there. Complete and utter failure of a business and who they let work there.Advise anyone who is searching for properties in the Reading the area west of London not to use Parker's estate agents.

Hi YosriWhat you have stated is simply not true. At the point you booked the viewing, you were informed there was an offer that was not accepted, but being considered. My colleague advised you that you would be informed if the offer were accepted.Unfortunately, the offer was accepted and a holding deposit secured a few hours prior to your appointment. We contacted you as soon as we received confirmation of receipt of the holding deposit, but it sounds like you had already commenced your journey to Reading. Whilst I appreciate this would be frustrating, I'm sure you'll appreciate that we can only let a property to one party and it's inevitable that someone will miss out when we have good properties that attract interest from multiple applicants. Unfortunately on this occasion, you were the one to miss out, but I do not believe this constitutes a 1 star review. Had there been other similar properties for you to view, we would have done our upmost to accommodate this whilst you were in the area, but we don't have anything remotely comparable at present. If you wish to discuss your concerns further, I would ask that you contact me on 01189575455Mark BrookerLettings Director

Googleas a tenant, avoid avoid using Parkings.
We rented a house for many years and it was old and run down. We chose for the location. Big mistake. The landlord told me he doesn't want Parkers to manage it as Parkers charges 15% management fee. But during the years he failed maintain the house. He is very old and been in hospital a lot. Most time can't reach him and he didn't want to spend a penny to repair things. So the windows (single glazed old wooden) got moulded. Mould on the ceilings and walls. I did everything to clean it but the mould left stains. Kitchen cupboards broken...the landlord was very rude when I reported issues. Siad he had trouble understand me.
Although Parkers didn't make fee from him, they are on his side. Someone called mark called me very aggressive said we trashed the house. Yet he didn't care the landlord never cared to look after the house. For 8 years things will get worn. Carpets were old at the beginning and they expected they are the same after those years? What a joke.
Before we were moving, parkers sent someone to take photos try to prove we didn't look after the house. We were packing why did I bother to tidy stuff?
After we moved out, Parkers found some
contractor, to do the cleaning, and rubbish removal. I would say the contractor ripped the landlord off. Firstly the invoice isn't detailed, only gave a figure. Secondly, it's way too much for professional cleaning and a bit rubbish removal.
I guess the reason Parkers on the landlord s side is that they can rip more money from the landlord. He is not capable of doing the works for the house, that gives the opportunity to them to rip him off. Very despicable agent.

I am disappointed to hear that you feel your Landlord failed to maintain the property you were renting. I am fairly confident I know which property this relates to, but I believe you may be using an alternative name to mask your identity, which makes it difficult to comment on your accusations. Should you wish to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to contact me, I'd be delighted to talk these through with you. Mark Brooker, Lettings Director 0118 957 5455

GoogleThey really are just awful to both landlords and tenants. My landlord could have gotten a tenant much earlier for a higher rent than I was paying, but they cost him the extra income for absolutely no reason.
I gave over two month notice (8th Oct), and told Mark Brooker that I'd be leaving much earlier (11th of Nov), so the property is available from that point onwards if they find a renter, and that I will continue to pay the rent until the end of the notice period in accordance with the contract with the previous agent until 19th of Dec (unless of course they found someone earlier, so the landlord is not at a loss).
Mark Brooker being the useless that he is, advertised the property for the 3rd of January! So not only is the landlord not getting the extra income he would have gotten from the increase in rent, the property is now empty from the 20th Dec until the 3rd of Jan for no reason! I gave my notice early so they can take charge of the property, check it (while I'm paying the rent) get it ready for the market and advertise it asap, there was absolutely no justification for the loss of income to my landlord. Now I've been paying for 2 months for an empty property including council tax because these people are incompetent. Could have advertised the property earlier, but chose to be utterly useless and unhelpful. The only reason my landlord is tolerating their nonsense is because he's far away and doesn't want the hassle of finding another agent.
If you're a landlord, look out for your best interests, find a better agent and have a direct relationship with the tenant, and you're likely to find better ways than these useless people.

TrustpilotPoor communication
I'm a tenant of a property managed by Parkers in Reading. Just avoid if you can. There's an extreme lack of communication and no real customer service when you can get hold of your property manager. They are very happy to take your money and don't offer much in return from a tenant's point of view. Also, they have a number of regional offices in Reading but they seem to have little to no autonomy in making their own decisions or completing processes so you always have to go into the town centre branch to sign any forms or hand back keys.

GoogleI had a disappointing experience with Parkers. I arranged a viewing for 9:30 am, but the agent arrived at 9:45 am, leaving a group of us waiting. When it was finally my turn, I was given barely 5 minutes to look around the property. To make matters worse, the agent had no information about essential details such as parking, gas/electricity setup, or the terms and conditions of the flat. It begs the question, why send an agent who isn't equipped to provide basic information? After traveling over an hour to attend the viewing, this experience was not only frustrating but also unprofessional on Parkers' part.

GoogleI recently had a pleasure of dealing with Parkers.
There absolutely nothing I could point out as being wrong or even suspicious, to be very honest it was a truly great experience, I have dealt with Holly and Becca and both were fantastic.
Please keep in mind, Parkers will go out of their way to help you but don't expect them to do everything for you, me and my wife had our references done and completed within 24 hours but we also had all relevant parties lined up and waiting to be contacted to speed up the process, from the day we went to view the flat it took less than 5 days to collect the keys.
Great team at Parkers and massive thank you to Rebecca and Holly for all your help.
