GoogleSince the day we moved into one of Martin & Co's rental properties in August 2017, my partner and I have received excellent customer service and are very happy we chose a property with them. Easy to communicate with and efficient at getting any problems sorted. Most of our contact has been with our property manager Emma Greaves who has really listened to us, making sure we are comfortable and content in our first rental.

GoogleWe booked 3 viewings and travelled 6 hours to visit the properties. Upon arriving to Plymouth (within 24hours of the viewings) they were all cancelled for various reasons. I was not made aware prior to my trip that cancellations for such reasons may occur. This resulted in the trip to Plymouth being a waste of time. Unfortunately I would not recommend their service.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

Dear Fraz, We understand how frustrating it must be as a potential tenant to travel great distance only to discover that the properties that you planned to view have already had tenants accepted on them. This is why we called you the evening before two of the three viewings to let you know that they could not proceed. We called again on the morning of your third viewing to let you know that the current tenant was unwell and had understandably denied access. The lettings team have subsequently worked incredibly hard to secure viewings on other properties that may be of potential interest to you and hopefully we can line something up for you that works. I'm afraid that both the lettings and sales markets have moved extremely quickly over the course of the last couple of months and I know of no system that precludes the requirement to cancel viewings where a property is no longer available. I have tried to call to discuss this matter with you so that you can shed some light on what you feel that we should have done differently. Kind regards, Chris Whitaker Managing Director

GoogleI would strongly recommend you get a lawyer before accepting any terms from martin and co, here’s why: I’m a first time landlord with them and used this opportunity to screw over the naive new landlord. They discussed with my mother and not me without my permission that I don’t get landlords insurance which is against gdpr. And then held this negotiation over my head. They’ve let in a “shortfall” tenant. Which means someone who can’t afford the rent on the property without explaining this to me. He hasn’t payed rent in 4 months despite only being the property for 7 months they said they would start court proceedings and never did. I now cant move back into my only home. Can’t sell it in this time of crisis. They’ve said they have no obligation to get me my rent, and no obligation to get me my property back. Trusting them was the single worst decision of my life. Untrustworthy, unprofessional, incompetent, and useless. I will be taking legal action. I wish I had never had these “professionals” work with my house!

GoogleEmma & Tom at the Martin & Co team provided an excellent & professional service when I initially consulted them about selling my property. Emma responded promptly to my request for a valuation, took written notes of the property, and had great depth of knowledge of the local Plymouth area. Additionally, she demonstrated proven knowledge in selling a range of properties, AND in a range of housing markets - highlighting her experience beyond the "sellers market" of the past 5+ years. The documentation I was provided by the Martin & Co team was extensive, including guides on the buying/selling process, and recommendations for sollicitors. I would recommend Martin & Co to anyone planning on selling their property.
