GoogleFrom the start of the letting procedure, through to the end, College and County were incredibly friendly, efficient and professional. Sonali and Ines in particular were absolutely amazing. Any issues with regards to maintenance were dealt with in a timely manner, and the people who were brought were incredibly quick and skilled. Not only this, but the staff were a joy to talk to even when having a supposedly mundane phone call! I have been with many different letting agencies throughout my almost 7 years living in the Cowley area, and College and County were undeniably the best. 10/10 from me! :)

GoogleWe have been renting with C&C for 3.5 years now. Our property manager Verity is a star! Her support has been amazing throughout. Every maintenance issue, big or small, is addressed with super quick turnaround.

GoogleI've rented with College & County for the past year and they've been amazing! They have always been very quick to respond to any complaints/issues with the property and have them sorted efficiently and hassle-free. Our property manager, Sonali, has been so easy to work with and has handled everything very professionally and to a high standard of quality. I would definitely recommend renting with them, as I will do so in the future.

GoogleI rented a flat in Oxford from 2021 to 2024 and moved out this year due to personal reasons. College and County is one of the best lettings agents I have seen in Oxford. Unlike some agents in Oxford who intimidate you or do not respond to your emails during the leasing period, College and County was responsive to any issues that I had during the last three years. They were able to resolve any issues I had with the property within a reasonable timeframe. The landlord was good too. The staff is professional, courteous, and helpful.

GoogleRipped us off with cleaning charges (£225 for small amounts of dust and some streak marks from us cleaning). Took 6 weeks of fighting to get our pro-rated rent back. Took 5 weeks of fighting after agreeing to their outrageous charges to get our deposit back (this is illegal). They lied about this and said we were not entitled to a refund. They required invasive property inspections. I would not recommend them, much like every other letting agent, they exist only for the benefit of the landlord, they are not on your side.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Very sorry that your tenancy end was a little frustrating Joel, but perhaps some further understanding of process will help? It is your landlord who proposes deductions from your deposit, not us. In this instance you agreed to the deductions proposed, but we had made it clear to you what you needed to do if you considered them unreasonable. Your over-payment of rent was a result of your early release being allowed by your landlord. when rent is received we send it to our client, and in this case we had to wait for it to be returned before we could forward it to you. The delay on the deposit return was largely due to the accounts team having to wait for bank details from you; as soon as bank details were received the deposit return was processed. GoogleI have 2 properties with college & county both for over 10 years, they have been great throughout, quick to respond to problems, good variety of professionals for any job from Plumbing to brickwork and at very reasonable charges, we have had problems occur and they have sorted them even on a weekend. GoogleTL;DR: Personally, College and County was the worst renting experience in the UK so far over the past 6 years of living here, would only consider them again in extreme circumstances. The property had a rodent problem, which was not being fixed for months (they didn't believe us when we were saying there were rats in the house). The only thing that made them tackle the problem was me taking a photo of a baby rat sitting next to our dishes in the kitchen and then showing it to the agency. Upon leaving the property, they told us to get professional cleaning by their number one recommended provider. We did that, it cost us almost £600. The cleaning was done on the penultimate working day of our tenancy - as late as possible - after everyone had moved out. However, we were still charged over £100 from our deposit at the end of the tenancy for what they called "light dust" and similar things. Also, things like "loose door handles" and similar natural wear cost us £180. Overall, we were charged around 20% of our deposit for various things. We were too tired to argue with them over the money so just ended up paying in full and we were so happy for everything to end. My friends and acquaintances who have rented from C&C have told me many similar stories. Hands down this is the worst renting experience I've had during my 6 years of renting in the UK, will not rent from C&C in the future.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

Tadas, whilst I am of course very sorry that you feel College and County offered a poor level of service, I have investigated your claims thoroughly and there are a number of points that might benefit from clarification? The rodent issues was first reported to us on Saturday 2nd November, on 4th (Monday) Pest Solutions attended, and treated the site including blocking possible entry points, and leaving deodorant bags to mask any resultant odours. On their follow up visit a week later they reported that they considered the matter resolved, and the tenants had no indications of further ingress. You then reported hearing activity in the wall cavity (over a month later) but there was no sign of entry into the property so the tenants were asked to monitor the situation. On 23rd December you reported a smell again, and were offered a return visit by Pest Solutions but because there was no-one to provide access, we also arranged a second opinion from Oxford City Council’s specialist team. They attended and made the following report. “On my visit to site I found no signs of present rat activity. The smell had gone and the guys at site (tenants) said the smell had been bad and has now gone. It is likely that a rat died in the wall cavity this will now be fur and bone. This will not be a problem to health .The previous pest control people have carried out proofing in a number of places hopefully they have found the entry point . If not you will most likely have rats again in the autumn and winter period. No further action needed at this time.” A further report in June 2020 was also followed up with further visits from Pest Solutions. The contractor attending did note significant food waste on the floors. Your allegations in respect of the deposit deductions proposed by the landlord are not quite accurate. The charge of £107.40 was proposed for the removal of rubbish left in the front of the property and for the emptying of the bins, which you had been reminded to do in your final visit report. The check-out report and letter proposing deductions by the landlord was sent to you on 15th September, and at no point did we receive any further correspondence from you disputing the proposal. The undisputed sum was returned to the lead tenant within the ten day window. GoogleI have been living in a flat operated by College and County since 2015. This is the fifth year of me living in the flat and I would really recommend CC to anyone who is looking for a good and reliable agency in Oxford. Everything contract-related is very transparent and I am particularly happy about how the maintenance team has always been operating - they have been very reasonable and responding fast when anything goes wrong. The communication between us and the landlord has also been handled really well. GoogleWe have used College & County exclusively over more than 10 years for a let-only service for an extensive portfolio of flats and recommend them without hesitation. The quality of their tenant selection is our primary reason for using them; secondly it is an owner-managed business and all communication with them is handled efficiently and professionally. They are an experienced team offering consistent points of contact from one year to a next which is helpful when managing renewals and a very busy summer changeover period. Paperwork and accounting is also handled correctly and without delay. GoogleMy overlall experiences with College & County have been positive to this day. The team members are very friendly, helpful and especially flexible and react promptly to inquiries in most cases. I give four out of five stars, because I had a couple of situations where the symptoms of a problem were tackled rather than the problem itself (i.e. short-term solutions instead of proper fixing). Luckily, these have been solved properly in the end. All in all I would recommend College & County.

GoogleMy husband and I had to move to Oxford in a very short period of time. We are very happy with the service so far. From the beginning very professional and very friendly team of people. Very prompt and gave us all the necessary information without wasting a minute, which we were very thankful for.
