GoogleThey called me on 29th of July, 2023 to view a property in Alicia Crescent near East Dock Road, Newport but they never turned up at the property. I waited for nearly an hour. I sent a text message and even called them. But they never replied back. I felt really helpless.

Myself and another have recently rented a property from red key. I rang up around 9:30 am and i was put through to Lisa, straight away she was very helpful and managed to get me in for a viewing that afternoon. I arrived at the property and was met by Lisa who was very friendly. She showed me around the house and answered all the questions i had. I explained my situation and that i wanted to be in the property as soon as i could be and within 1 week i was handed the keys with everything sorted for me.

From the first property viewing I had, the staff really made me feel comfortable and I felt like they actually took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for. Being with estate agents in the past I would call about one property and that was all I would be advised on, whereas Red Key took down my whole criteria and although the property I originally called about had been rented, they were able to recommend a property that actually suited me much better. Upfront explanation of costs was another huge reason I am writing this review. I knew exactly what I would be paying and what it was for; a breath of fresh air. I'm now all moved in and happy, so thank you Red Key.

Having dealt with lettings agents in the past from both sides of the table, they all seem to suffer from the same failures - that was until I come across Red Key. From the very first introduction I was met by a very personable agent who had a vast knowledge of the local housing market. They thoroughly surveyed my property and gave me a realistic achievable sum which balanced income with speed of let - instead of inaccurate sky-high estimates which result in an empty property for long periods. The rates are fair and offer great value and service for the money - it is worth remembering from both point of view of the tenant and the landlord "you get what you pay for". They outlined certain things that I needed to do to the property before they would begin marketing, where others have turned a blind eye to in the past (elec, certs, suggested improvements, consent to let from lender and freeholder). I am aware of some of the lettings agencies ill-advising tenants and the leaseholders to ignore some of the covenants in the property's lease which often voids insurance and inevitably can lead to lease forfeiture - just in order to fill the property! Unlike some of the other lettings agencies they do carryout thorough checks and references on all prospective tenants before even getting so far as to query me - as with most lettings agents seem desperate to fill the vacant properties with anyone, regardless of suitability. Within days I had a suitable tenant offering the top end forecast, which resulted in a 24 month tenancy, without my involvement whatsoever during this period. They are always there at the end of the line and if not available will always return your call - customer service seems to be king at this organisation. From experience they are by far Newport's finest lettings agency and still after 5 years I wouldn't consider going elsewhere.

Being a private landlord for many years I have always rented my properties online, dreading having to pay an agent their fees, meaning I made less each rental. This was until RedKey laid out the benefits of being with an agent. I usually have a rental void of around 20-30 days between tenants. My flat rents for £600 a month which is around £20 per day, that's a total loss of between £400 and £600, which more than covers the agent fees and they gave me a very swift turn around between tenancies.. Add this to their 4 point tenant reference, makes me a very happy landlord. Hopefully everything stays seamless and easy with this company.

GoogleAVOID AVOID AVOID Typical estate agents taking peoples deposits and retaining money for end of tenancy fake cleaning bills. I lost over £800 deposit money with these cowboys. Lets hope nobody else decides to rent a home off them. AVOID AVOID AVOID

As a new landlord, I popped into RedKey, Newport with a whole host of questions. I met with Samantha who was exceptionally patient in answering all my questions in detail. I was impressed with the prompt follow up action and the speed in which my property was marketed and then let; in the space of a couple of DAYS!!! I couldn't ask for a better first experience as a landlord and would fully recommend RedKey to others!

GoogleOverpriced for a tiny one bed apartment. Kicked my friend out who was struggling with depression and messing him around with the end of tenancy agreement. Only gave him a week to move out of the flat. Avoid this lettings agency!! Biggest rip offs ever

GoogleI have struggled to get anyone to call me, raised a formal complaint and still no reply. I hope by going to the ombudsman I will get resolution. Redkey are slow to arrange viewings, slow to process renewal documents and slow to arrange for increases in rents. Very poor indeed.NegativeResponsiveness

After having nothing but grief from my previous estate agents (being left over 2 months with a broken boiler) Lisa Snooks and Red Key took over my property management and within 48 hours we had a boiler repair man out to fix it. Definitely one of the best estate agents I have been with. Extremely helpful and friendly and I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

GooglePlease avoid this estate agents if you are a tenant unless you want to lose all your money. They charge you for ridiculous things when your tenancy ends such as dust!!!! I have never dealt with such greedy estate agents. Terrible experience.
