Issue in refunding my Security amount. Here I want to share my recent experience with Ellis & Co Harrow. Despite of paying agreed rent on time and having sufficient evidence that all my rent final settlement is done, this agency is finding different ways to deduct more and more from my security deposit and sending email forcing me to agree to the amount that they want to deduct. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS AGENCY WHILE RENTING WITH THEM. After being tenant in the current property for 9 months, when I called Ellis to report a gas leakage problem, they have started getting mad on me blindly and shown the real face how they support their tenants. Due to the lack of support in provide the meter readings, I have to get my smart meter installation done with the new energy supplier and the new provider is not supposed to hit any nail in the wall or put any wiring as that provision was already done by the old energy supplier. Without understanding the details, the Ellis Harrow agent literally starting shouting at me and started getting mad at me. He said that I should always keep in mind that i am just a tenant here and should take approvals for all these things. Before blaming me, he should have listen to me properly and understand the concerns and real matter. He putted all my concerns down and blindly started raising concerns on behalf of Landlord. To me, this has shown the real face of Agent and hence i am sharing my feedback here.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

I had an amazing experience with Ellis and Co Harrow. I started renting with them in 2011, since then they were looking after me extremely well. When I had boiler broken they sorted everything in couple of days. When my landlord decided to sell house where I was living they found me straight away beautiful place in very similar price they helped with everything. TEAM IS SO SO SO HELPFUL. Now I changed towns I moved out of Middlesex and I didn't had any problems with receiving my FULL AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT. And amazing recommendations for my new place when I was looking for. Can't recommend them enough. They people for people there, really looking after you. ONE MORE TIME THANK YOU Mr . Kam and his Team. 10/10 service. Where is our deposit??? KEEP CLEAR OF THIS AGENCY

My family left the rental property some time back and the agent will not return our deposit. We spoke to landlord directly who emailed the agent clear instructions to return our deposit but still the agent ignores such instructions. Agent ignores emails and phone calls and looks like they are trying to keep the deposit for themselves. My family spoke to a recommended person at another branch who made it very clear that it may not be the first the owners of Harrow branch have kept the deposit for themselves. If we don’t receive the monies back this week then we will have to seek help by way of a solicitor to guide us.

Stopped using this agent years ago…

Stopped using this agent years ago after the proprietor shouted and swore at my mother at the time. Since then they continue contacting me when I’ve not signed any agreement with them for over 4 years. After repeated requests for them to remove my family’s contact details from their database they still to this day are emailing asking for annual fee. They have no idea how to converse with clients and have broken all GDPR regulations. I have reported them to Ombudsman and urge everyone else to do the same

Unbelievably poorly run letting agent

We visited the office recently as we received no response at all over the phone despite several complaints. Our tenants moved out the property and although we clearly instructed the agency to give our tenants back their deposit, my tenants still have not received anything. We are also owed fee refund which again the letting agency agent haven't paid. We visited the office only to find there was no full time staff there and the lady that did speak to us appeared possibly drunk and smelt of alcohol. We are now waiting for the agencies Head Office to investigate this further.

Where to start?? Rude, don't return calls, take money that isn't theirs, make constant excuses about missing rent payments owed to me, the list goes on. I visited their branch recently to find they have no experienced staff working there and the lady I dealt with wreaked of alcohol. Am about to deal with their Head Office as my tenants claim the agent is withholding their deposit when I confirmed in writing to Ellis & Co to send it back to them.

Waste of money

Waste of money. We pay for a management service but always end up dealing with the problems as the agent ignores everything. Our tenants have told us many times about problems they report to agency but I have to end up organising repairs myself even though the agency takes a management fee every month. As soon as my tenants leave I will use a professional agent instead. Friend of mine lives in the same road as the owner of the agency and apparently he is more interested in holding sex parties with prostitutes.

Agent doesn't care for tenants. Have been trying for two years for them to repair problems. I took legal advice and first steps I had to communicate with the council to take action. Also my landlord has called me several times because he thinks I did not pay rent but I had paid to the agent every month for last few years but we found out they kept it and didn't transfer to my landlord for two weeks after I paid it sometimes. I speak to Jay Joshi who is the only helpful person there but he has told me I needed to write to the owner called Kam Karla which I did but I never received any reply or help. Seeing other reviews about this agent really sums it up.

Please take this review as ZERO stars- unfortunately Trustpilot only gives an option for minimum one star. This company is exactly why estate agents have a bad name. These staff have no interest in customer service or any level of service at that. Rent payments to me are always approximately two weeks late even though my tenants have paid the agent on time. They neglect issues in the property so my tenants end up calling me as they get no reply from the agent. Ellis and Co then have the nerve to try and charge a renewal fee and management fee. Management fee for what? I wrote to the owner Mr Kam Kalra who also ignores any responsibilty it seems. Just stay clear of this shambles of an agent.

No one turned up to the viewing. We were 30mins Early AND Waited 30mins before deciding to leave. The irritating thing was I travelled 50miles to get there. An email confirmation was given but there was no mobile number given for the agent we were meeting. We even emailed the agent 30mins before the viewing to say we were there. No courtesy to phone or email us to say the viewing was cancelled or they were delayed. This was their first impression and they couldn't get the basics done correctly. Won't be dealing with them again!
