We recently viewed a property with Caitlin, a property manager based in the Edinburgh lettings office. We are relocating urgently back to Scotland from the south of England and Caitlin has been so helpful from the initial booking through the tenancy application process - very open and friendly, checking in with progress, quickly and thoroughly providing us will all the necessary info and keeping us completely up to date - helping to make a big move a lot less stressful. Helpful efforts from Evie hunter on the Dunbar house

Staff were very helpful, especially Evie hunter, who gets busy with my phone calls and email every time l needed help to finding a suitable property to filling in the application, Evie prompts and talked to the landlord till he accept my application up to the point of completion and approval. Definitely will use their services again.l am looking forward to move in to my beautiful apartment

very pathetic…

I am landlord & DJ Alexander are looking after my flat in Edinburgh for last couple of years. I am very unhappy with services I received. There is no named person responsible for my flat. Therefore, at every occasion I communicate with a new person & have to start from scratch. They don't bother to reply to emails & even don't acknowledge. This happen repeatedly over last couple of years ie after few correspondences they disappear & don't bother to reply or acknowledge emails. Most recent I sent email 10 days ago but no one reply or acknowledge. This is their regular practice. All they remember to detect fee every month. Very disappointing & pathetic!

I recently viewed a property under the assistance of Kieran Mooney. He provided an outstanding service, was happy to answer all my questions and was very patient whilst I had a thorough walk around. After proceeding with an interest in the property Kieran was prompt to respond and take the necessary next steps on our behalf to secure the property within a couple of hours. I haven't moved into the property yet, but worked with Chloe Mitchell from the application to everything in preparation of the move in (reference checks, signing lease, paying move in money etc) and she was super super helpful! Prompt email replies, always picked up the phone, and very patient with (probably too many) emails with questions and confirming things went through correctly. I would highly recommend Chloe to anyone, her patience and knowledge made the process very stress-free and manageable despite the inherent stress of finding a new flat.

Attempted robbery

When you move in the place will have plenty of issues and then when moving out DJ Alexander will attempt to steal your deposit or add extra charges by claiming these issues were done by you. DJ Alexander will also deliberately not reply to your leaving notice to secure extra pro rata payments. Do not rent from this letting agency.

Viewed a Flat - very helpful

Recently had a viewing for a flat to rent. Found the process to be straightforward. Gemma-Louise from DJ Alexander was very friendly and offered to help with searching for other properties. There was was a slight issue with emailing the application automatically, but Gemma-Louise made sure we received an application form. The market is very busy but found it to be easier to look with DJ Alexander compared with some other companies.Although unsuccessful with the property, I'll certainly use them again to look.

Smooth, stress-free experience as students

We are students and just moved to a new flat, and it has been a very refreshing and different experience than we have had in the past with agencies. Our letting agent is Caroline Connelly and I am yet to meet a more friendly and caring agent than she has been. She had the whole place cleaned and furniture changed before we moved in and was just great support throughout the whole process. We feel very comfortable contacting her for anything and she has made us feel very welcome in our new home. The application process from their end was very quick and we were being communicated to every step of the way. We were able to get the move in date to work for our timeline and it took off a lot of the stress that we had from the process of moving which was extremely helpful. Overall, we are very happy with DJ Alexander so far thanks to Caroline.

We recently moved into a flat with DJA. The process was fast-tracked by the landlord so things were slightly more chaotic than I suspect the agency is used to, but we got the keys within 5 days of viewing the property which was impressive. There were a few breakdowns in communication but I’d put that down to the speed at which the agreement was being organised at. Everyone was kind and respectful which we appreciated.Kieran was the agent working with us, he was helpful throughout the process and continues to be now that we’re in the property. I just got my new rent with DJ…
