I have rented a property from DJ Alexander for almost 9 years. I was charged £63 for a cup ring on a bedside table as the only 'issue'. Can you honestly believe that, after 9 years in the property?! They claim that the owner decided this but I would expect the letting agency to manage this much better, if true. In addition, I engaged an end of tenancy clean with a company recommended by DJA for £260. AFTERWARDS I was informed that they were going to do renovation works in the property and so the end of tenancy clean was a waste. Lost over £300 thanks to this nonsense.

GoogleI have had a good experience with DJ Alexander so far be it with viewing, follow up, response to my queries. I would like to add that I had a really nice experience recently as I desperately looking for a house. Johanna Burvall was very helpful and supportive. She understood some of my personal limitations and was kind enough to accommodate me in some of her viewings and proactively updated if there was any change to the schedule. It felt good to know that such professionals exist who go beyond their call of duty to help people. Much appreciated, Johanna. Kudos @DJ Alexander for having such professionals in your team!

DJ Alexander was consistently terrible to work with. When we moved in we were only given 45 minutes to supply guarantors because our agent was on holiday and gave us no notice. Throughout my two year tenancy DJ was unresponsive, dismissing queries and issues even when they were unresolved. A representative came in person once for an inspection, and instead of reporting issues like a leaky tap or a broken lock, told us they didnt want to report the issues cause it would "take a long time to do the paperwork." The door fell off the hinges at some point (all the furniture in my flat was borderline broken) and DJ reported it the same day as "fixed," even though the door was still broken. I had to continue reporting things as broken until DJ finally got bothered enough to send someone to fix it. Whenever I would finally manage to contact a real human being about issues, they were often robotic, curt, unsympathetic, and would randomly stop replying to emails even though I would try to be polite, optimistic, and courteous. I will never let from DJ ever again.

GoogleI have been using DJ Alexander as a rental agency for a few years. We moved into a lovely flat 18 months ago, and the team were graceful to support us through application and allow us a swift viewing. On entry, we had a few issues in the flat, nothing to do with the agency, but more to do with the landlord being unresponsive. Despite the house issues being a frustration (heating, boiler, loo etc) DJ were always engaged and proactive, ensuring we knew our options and a team of helpers were on hand. This was appreciated as our landlord was lacklustre and at times unresponsive. But DJ really pushed to support their tenants and make sure we were fairly treated in a timely manner whenever possible, which was appreciated. A tough job to mediate at times, feel they did this professionally.

LANDLORDS STAY CLEAR!I have been a Landlord for 28 years and have never dealt with such a useless Estate Agency.INCOMPETENT:- Badly designed app cause havoc; from tenants signing up to having access to statements, certificates and inspections.Since its crash, it seems they have no backup.- They have no record of an inventory for my furnished flat; so now that the tenant has moved out without giving notice and taken my Wooden Double Bed frame with him;DJ Alexander’s reply is. The tenant said he found it outside the property???So DJ A wants me to believe that my previous tenant moved the frame outside for the new tenant to find???DJ A obviously then had viewings of my flat with a mattress on the floor, like a squat? And nobody at DJ A checks the inventory or get the tenants to sign it?- Internal communication within DJ A is based on passing the buck to the next person.DEVIOUS:- From letting a flat for £840 per month I mostly received less than half of that after deductions this year.- I doubt that the back ground check on my last tenant was done properly as he has* Left without giving notice * Not paid for the 10 days in May which he did occupy the property.* Removed my Wooden bed frame and then have DJ A cover for him with excuses like; it was left outside.* Gary at DJ A suggests that I claim on the no deposit scheme after DJ A has sent a maintenance guy to fix the faulty boiler etc. Mmmm, that just sounds off.Why did the tenant not report that the boiler is faulty?DJ A maintenance will go in, fix ‘things’, send me a bill and then I can try and claim it back. WowSo now I’m flying up to Scotland to sort this mess out.When I started with DJ A in 2021 I thought their responses were up to standard, after the initial nightmare with the apropos app.In October 2023 I noticed things are getting wobbly.By January 2024 it was clear that DJ A is tumbling.Basically where I’m standing now; it’s unpaid rent and furniture stolen!I’m changing Estate Agents before this gets totally out of hand.
