GoogleI cannot thank Elli-Mae enough for facilitating my first solo rental as a separated parent. After months of fruitless searching being treated unfavourably by other letting agents- even going to the lengths of adding “no children” to their adverts as they knew I was going to request further information, my initial call with James and then a viewing and correspondence with Elli-Mae was the first experience where I felt seen, understood and that I had a chance in finding a home to start the next chapter in. From the bottom of my heart thank you and cannot recommend you enough.

GoogleAfter entrusting Moginie James with the management of our property for 7 years, the state in which it was returned to us is nothing short of shocking. Throughout our tenure, we encountered recurring issues with invoicing and maintenance, but nothing prepared us for the devastation we found upon returning to our apartment. In March 2023, we were notified that the floor required maintenance. We paid for partial floor and joist repairs, and Moginie James assured us the work had been completed and the floor was now fit for purpose. However, upon our return, we discovered a gaping hole in the floor and extensive damage to the bathroom floor that requires complete replacement. Despite their claims of managing and maintaining the property, Moginie James failed spectacularly. The checkout report noted minor damage to the flooring, which they dismissively categorized as "Lino damage." When confronted about the severe issues, Moginie James attempted to shift the blame onto the tenant, falsely claiming it was their responsibility to sign off on the work. Their response of "tough luck" demonstrates a complete disregard for their responsibilities as property managers. If you are paid to manage and maintain a property, basic upkeep and oversight are expected, something Moginie James clearly failed to deliver. To add insult to injury, we were paying an additional amount for insurance in case a tenant defaulted on payment, only to find out that such insurance did not exist. Our tenants were also treated poorly, Moginie James lost our keys and did not hand over all the keys that were provided by us. They then had the audacity to try to charge us for their mistake! The condition in which they returned the property to us is appalling and has caused a substantial financial burden. We are currently in the process of collating all necessary information and have commenced legal action against Moginie James for their gross mismanagement and failure to uphold their contractual obligations. Absolutely useless. Must do better.

GoogleWhile my original review for MJ was quite positive I have to report major issues in getting my deposit back. It has now been months since I moved out and had a great leaving report from them, saying I'll get my full deposit back. It took them weeks to get that officially signed off and months later the money has not arrived. Contacting them has been fruitless. Original: The property I rent was acquired by Moginie James last year. They resolve any issues that they can, rapidly, and have been a pleasure to work with since they took over.

GoogleGreat experience with Moginie James as a first time buyer, from the initial viewing with Michelle D who was knowledgeable, friendly and professional; to keeping in contact with Michelle L throughout the buying process who chased solicitors and was very responsive to emails. We saw their inhouse mortgage broker, Rob, who was also fantastic- efficient and professional. We wouldn't recommend the solicitors we were recommended by MG due to poor communication but this is not through fault of MG. Overall would recommend buying though MG, a smooth and easy process with a lovely team.

GoogleWhat a journey I've had. After a lengthly and trying refurb to a house I bought, Cameron from Moginie James politely checked in each month until I was ready. I was then referred on to James who was helpful in setting me up with a part mangaged contract for letting. As a first time landlord I am grateful to Moginie James for their patience and great communication (they emailed or called back the same day) in answering questions I had. I highly recommend them.

GooglePlease be warned, this agency is a hassle to deal with. If I save even one person the grief me and my former housemates went through I will be happy. No major issues occurred with this company until it was time to get our deposits back. After a year of letting a property through them, we moved out June 30. We were told the deposit would be back in our bank accounts by 10 working days (fairly standard and reasonable I'd say). Yet after the ten days had passed we still heard nothing so I followed up with my landlord inquiring what needed to be done to progress things. There was talk about final bills waiting to come, cleaning bills to agree on, etc etc. After numerous emails back and forth trying to understand what the exact issue was and many weeks passed (in which three different points of contact were made with the agency) I was still unsure of the hold up. We did not get our deposit back until Aug 4 - 25 working days after move out and after much hassle and inconvenience. Absolutely ridiculous. We never got a straight answer as to why it took so long, especially since we heard of others also renting from the same agency getting their deposit back before us when they moved out after us!! And if that wasn't bad enough, they double charged us twice for the"check out fee" as it was charged upon moving in and then again deducted off the deposits. Myself and another housemate tried separately to explain that they made a mistake and showed them all the evidence to prove they double charged us. Yet they did not understand what we were talking about and then stopped replying to our emails. At this point it was no longer worth the hassle, we had been out of the place for over a month and half so we decided to drop it. Please save yourself the stress and go with another agency.

GoogleWe definitely recommend Moginie James Cyncoed Lettings Team led adeptly by James Thomas. We had a zoom call together initially which was a great insight into how his team works. He took as much time as necessary to understand our own needs as landlords. We opted for the tenant find. It took 3 months to find suitable candidates which was more to do with the market at this time. Zoe and Elli did a great job, and informed us of progress, interest, viewings and offers. They were extremely professional and a pleasure to collaborate with. We will continue to work with MJ Lettings team in the future, as it was a positive experience and we are 100% satisfied with the work they did for us. Thank you.

GoogleCan’t recommend highly enough, from start to finish the team have been on the ball, super friendly and helpful. I’ve dealt with other estate agents when looking for a new property and they were no where near as inviting or helpful as moginie james. I dealt with Michelle on a number of occasions and what a delight she has been. Cannot fault the team at all.

FacebookI would NEVER recommend anyone to rent or buy off this company. I have been renting since November 2019, every single day is a absolute nightmare. There is so much wrong with my flat and they do nothing to help. My tenancy is only for a year thankgod but I can honestly say it’s been the worst year of my life 👍🏽
Absolutely useless company!!!!!!!.. They will read this and still ignore you!!.. How they can charge what they do.. For the state on the property and never carry out maintenance I don't know.. I'm currently on hold to environmental health for the 2nd time.. Through these.. Anyone reading this... Stay clear for your own sanity 👊

The service was amazing, all calls were respectable and compassionate. They had some of the nicest staff members of any agency especially Elle-may and Katt and Karolina. Would definitely recommend!!!
