Google1. They showed us a nice flat with lots of furniture during our first property visit in June and our contract had specifically stated that it was a furnished flat, but when we moved in in October, all the furniture were gone. If you really need to use their services, it is best not to confirm that you will rent their flat a few months in advance. Don't give them time to remove all the funiture from the flat!
2. They never reply any emails and never return our calls when we need them. If something needs to be fixed in your flat, they don't care and will never send anyone to fix them.
3. I had no way of checking my water and electricity meter because they never told me how to. I ended up buying key FB2 from Tesco after some advice from a friend, so I'm writing it down here in case anyone's facing the same problem.
4. For some reason, when I called the water company to register as a new tenant in this flat, I was told that there was no record of any flats, including mine of course, in the area I was living in. Even my neighbours told me that they had never received a water bill. However, at the end of my tenancy, Jackson and Co actually asked me to pay 60 pounds to THEIR COMPANY as my water bills!
5. When I moved out from this flat last year, they actually had the guts to claim a 290 pounds cleaning fee for a one bedroom flat, even when they had told me that I had kept my flat in a tidy and clean state during property visits throughout the term. Not to mention how unresponsive they were when I told the DPS I could not accept their terms. It literally took me eight months to get back my deposit. So thanks Lucinda Kane for doing nothing and never responding to the DPS.

EDIT: I am surprised that the company is objecting to this, because my experience with them was not good at all. My issue was not with the landlord choosing a different tenant, but with the following:
At the initial viewing the letting agent was not able to gain access to the property, meaning that the viewing could not go ahead. This was a waste of my time as I had driven 50 miles on a Saturday afternoon to be there. Then I was assured that due to the inconvenience, I would be given priority over other applicants. This was not something that the letting agent was in a position to offer, since it is the landlord's decision, but I took from this that the letting agent had some kind of influence that he was going to use on my behalf. After taking the morning off to attend the rescheduled viewing I called the company to confirm my interest and was told I would receive a call back later that day. This call never took place, and I subsequently saw online that the property had been let to somebody else - though I had to call the letting agent myself to ask what had happened the following day. I would love to know what part of this story Jackson & Co disagree with, or think is deserving of more than a one-star review.

GoogleAVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! We have had nothing but trouble since starting a tenancy with Jackson & Co. Broken beds, boiler not working and constantly having to chase up repairs and being told they will look into it when they don’t. They often lie about looking into things as well, and other assistants making light of this to chase it up again. They are rude and often give you the shortest answer and will hang up the phone as quickly as possible. It’s been the most stressful tenancy someone could think of and it’s all down to constantly being lied to by Jackson and Co and never following through with what the say. Even down to when viewing a property, they will lie about that too so it’s quite clear from the beginning. Save yourself the hassle and go with a better estate agents
