I had great service from All at J W Woods. From firstly purchasing my home through them. Julie who showed me around informing me of everything I asked. To the staff keeping me uptown date with my purchase. Again when I sold the property (I wanted the garden to build my new home in). Gary visiting and going through the sales procedure. Again, Julie bringing a seller to view and helping with the sale. Tony keeping me upto date with the seller this time. My whole experience was easy and smooth. Thank you to all staff at J W Woods

Rude,Unhelpful, It is because of staff like this that give estate agents the reputation of the most hated people to do business with, I feel sorry for the people whose property they are selling because they are no good at dealing with purchasers, I would never even consider dealing with these people again and strongly advise anyone else to so the same as there are hundreds of estate agents to chose from.

GoogleFrom failing to put our property on Rightmove until prompted (they thought it was there) to the shocking communication received when we accepted an offer we would never recommend using Woods.
We were given a "Sales coordinator", Kelly once an offer had been made, this in itself took weeks. Then between both myself and my partner across a 3 month period we made approximately 80 calls to Kelly, due to her lack of answering the phone, of which 3 were answered. We left voicemails and were repeatedly told she would call us back. If the phone line truly is that busy then employ more staff! Kelly instead generally preferred to send us emails even when we asked for call backs, which resulted in longer than necessary handling of many situations. We were also made aware by another staff member, that our buyer also had issues getting hold of Kelly so Woods rang us for an update one Saturday to pass on!!! Our solicitor was even shocked at how badly things were handled.
When I decided enough was enough and tried to express my dissatisfaction (I emailed the branch manager) I was told by the branch manager, Adrian, that Kelly is a very competent member of staff and I was wrong - again not what you'd expect when expressing your experience. Please note Adrian also didn't call me after recieving my email I instead had to ring the branch!
I have given 2 stars purely for the 2 staff members, Chloe and Tracy in the CLS branch who dealt with us before accepting an offer. They were easy to contact and very helpful. Overall I would never use nor recommend using this business if you expect a decent service level past the point of sale (which is actually vitally important).
Having read the replies to previous reviews I have no doubt this situation/review will be dismissed by Woods even though they will state they take feedback seriously.

Dealt with Amanda in the Bishop Aukland office. It brought to mind the old Monty Python sketch “do you want the 15 minute argument or the full half hour”Honestly trying to book a simple viewing in Crawleyside turned into major argument as I apparently told her the wrong time and God forbid she’d have to actually do something like rearrange a viewing. Either she’s having a bad day or there’s a policy of trying once only in that office and sod you if you screw up 😂

If you're thinking of letting JW Wood manage your property think twice. They charge high fees, communication is dreadful if something goes wrong and they charge you for things without asking! Members of the team admit they have fallen short however managers there do not answer questions in a timely manner and when you suggest a face to face meeting to try and resolve things they refuse! Honestly worse estate agent I have encountered.
