Mark Huggins I was very disappointed to read your recent comments on Google, which suggested that records of all our clients could have been compromised so I wanted to respond to you personally. Can I assure you, and all our other customers, both past and present that this is simply not the case. In my view it’s actually a very serious accusation you have made without any real foundation. Very often the ‘phishing’ emails derive from hackers targeting personal home computers, which retain limited anti-virus software and not PC’s within businesses which generally have a higher level of security built in. Hackers will then use a particular email address held within a PC, recreate it and dispatch emails pertaining to be from the specific person or company to which the original email belonged. Rest assured we have removed your details from all our email platforms and it may be sensible to remove our details from your own devices, so any emails you may receive in the future pertaining to be from Beresfords would definitely not have been sent to you from within our business. In the meantime, it may be worth you reviewing the level of security retained on your own devices as this could well be where the problem derived from. For the record you reported your concerns to us on the 22nd February and we responded back within 48 hours. This included some useful security advice, an explanation as to how phishing emails occur and what individuals can do to protect themselves against them. I’m sorry that you have experienced these problems, which unfortunately are now quite common but hope my response has reassured you that Beresfords go to great lengths to ensure our clients data remains secure. However unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any unscrupulous activity which may occur on a client’s personal devices. Steven Bond Managing Director Residential Lettings

Catherine Having read the contents of your recent review I am sorry that you felt the attitude and approach of our staff was unacceptable and I have subsequently spoken to members of the team concerned. However to suggest that we provided no instructions regarding the location of the property you had arranged to view is in my view somewhat harsh. Whenever a viewing is arranged we always confirm this back by email in advance to the clients concerned. Also included is the full address and post code along with a Google map showing the location of the property concerned. In your particular case this was sent to you on the 3rd December at 12.47, three days before you were due to view. In almost every case this information proves sufficient for customers as they tend to locate the relevant property concerned via satellite navigation systems either on their mobile telephones or in a vehicle. In isolated cases where this proves an issue, our staff will always do their very best to try and assist. Of course it’s in our own interest and that of the landlords to make sure prospective tenants get to view the properties concerned. I’m sorry that on this occasion our performance failed to meet your expectations and I wish you every success in your search for a suitable property.
