Con Artists! I would advise everyone to stay away from them in particular landlords. I decided to try them for the first time to let out a property in the canary wharf area. I was dealing with Harry Neal at the Canary Wharf area. Although I was pushed a lot into retaining them for management of the property I declined and only elected to instruct them to find me tenants. It was explicitly agreed they would only be charging me 8 % plus vat of the annual rent. I got a very excited call that perfect Tenants who had been with Alex Neil for three years were now looking for a bigger property to move into and had loved my property after viewing it. I was informed that they they wanted to rent my property for 3 years. As I am looking to sell the property I informed them that I was looking to only rent it out for 2 years (thank God for that). I however made it clear that I will not pay the agent commission up front for 2 years and wanted to pay that monthly. Given that I wasn't agreeing to proceed otherwise I kept getting sales calls everyday with an excited tone of how they had worked out a very special deal for me. All of these special deals turned out to be ways of how they could actually charge me more by taking up more services (management services etc) from them for less. In any event it was agreed in the end that they would deduct the first years commission from the first rent and then deduct the rent for the 2nd year at the beginning of the second year. My tenant then proceeded to transfer both the first months rent and six weeks deposit. Without any discussion with me or the tenants, they have retained the entire amount (including the deposit!!!) and transferred only £ 92 to me. I have them emailed them with evidence that this was not what was agreed and forwarded the emails to them. No response. This will definitely not be the end of it and although they are not formally regulated by any body, I will be making necessary complains to different bodies which may well take up interest in this matter. Retaining the deposit is unlawful on their end and I have also informed the tenants of this.This is an extremely unprofessional firm and are literally (as the other reviews suggest) out to only con people out of their money. I strongly believe the other positive reviews on other websites is as a result of paying for them and they are not legit.

We were unable to move in at the agreed date because of lack of cleanliness and many other issues. The biggest problem is that they've refused to resolve the issues and have been consistently been unresponsive and extremely rude. There is not one good thing to say about this agency and its staff. We have been living in the property for 1 month now, and none of the problems have been addressed. Be careful, and if you decide to go with them make sure you discuss everything in writing and keep evidence of everything because they will try to make a fool of you. If needed, seek help through formal complaint systems and the property ombudsman service.

Phoned regarding a valuation, got a call back from an extremely verbose young woman who had so much to say for herself that she hardly stopped for a breath! TOLD me she will get someone there that afternoon to take photographs? er hello: a) how about asking what is a convenient date for me and b) I did not appoint you so a bit soon to be talking about photographs? Declared herself to be 'better educated' and throughout her inane rhetoric lost sight of the one fundamental fact, that she does NOT own the property, the homeowner does and therefore has a vested interest in the conversation. I hope the calls are recorded so someone senior might provide her with some much needed 'education' on civility, courtesy and people skills. I will not be using this company as I do not wish to deal with people like her, she is not a good ambassador for the company.

Shaun was super attentive and proved to be reliable, he arranged me a good quality property, and it was decisive to convince me to rent the apartment, as he told me upon my arrival in London "this is the type of apartment which I recommended to my best friend". Over the last 15 years I have had numerous dealings with David Hatch who has acted on the sale of 5 of my properties as well as managing my Buy to let portfolio. I always find David to be very knowledgeable with regard to the prices that I could achieve when i sell my properties and I'm confident he obtains the best possible price for me when I sell. He also handles the progression of the sale extremely well to ensure a quick and stress free completion. With regard to rentals, David manages my portfolio of properties in Docklands and South London, and he and his property management team provide an excellent service. Any routine property maintenance is completed without problem with excellent value for money. Much recommended to anyone buying / selling or renting in Dockland and South London.

Good impression, personable and has a lot of local knowledge.

We used to live in Woolwich and moved out of London over thirty years ago and feel like it is time to return to the capital. I came across Alex Neil while attending an event at the Docklands and met David Hatch. Although we have not decided exactly where to live and what size of property we can afford yet, David was very helpful and gave us a lot of information regarding house prices and about each of the areas Alex Neil specialises in, even though the area they cover is quite large. He also gave us advice on what we need to do to sell our own property when we are ready, such as how to obtain the energy rating (EPC). David came across as personable and very knowledgeable. You do need to allow a bit of time with David though, as he does talk a lot, but not too pushy. This is not as negative as it sounds, because as a "new" buyer, I need all the help I can get. Would I recommend David as an estate agent? For the limited time since I first met him, I think he can be trusted, as far as estate agents is concerned. David, please keep in touch and let us know when something that you think fits our requirements becomes available. By the way, I didn't score anything on Valuation achieved because I am not selling via Alex Neil, and I can only give an average score for Value for money as I have not bought a property yet, but hopefully, I can confirm they are good value as well when we eventually complete our purchase.

David Hatch visited my property on 17th July to assist in ascertain its open market value and potential as a development opportunity. Prior to his visit he had researched the local market conditions, similar style properties currently for sale along with sold properties via the Land Registry in the past 12 months.. Three options were proposed with an explanation of all costs and projected time scales. A comprehensive written report was posted 11 days later for my perusal. I found David Hatch to be a very knowledgeable and well informed agent, willing to explore and explain all possible options.. His professional approach is to be commended.

After relocating to London from New York I had to find a new property to rent, in a new country. Daunting task. I sent hundred of request through property sites to god knows how many estate agencies, and shortly received and email from Lucy at Alex Neil. After landing in London I had a viewing on the same day, made my holding deposit and moved in to the flat the following weekend.
