GoogleI was a part of a group of students renting a property for the 2023/24 period and I must say that if you want a stress free experience, don’t use this company.
While the staff themselves were lovely people, the way our tenancy was handled was less than ideal and caused us stress on multiple occasions.
Initially, they lost multiple of our emails during the signing of forms, and even asked us to resend our deposit despite us telling them we had already sent it. We understood that they were busy with masses of students using their services at the time, so we didn’t think much of it.
However, when the time came to live in the property, the landlord had organised for some windows to be replaced without Enfields knowing, despite using one of their (now fired) contractors. This contractor on multiple occasions entered our house without permission from either us or Enfields, and it only took a third offence and a threat to contact the property ombudsman that they fired the contractor (after hinting it was not just our property that was being entered unlawfully).
It just seems like the staff themselves are quite overloaded with all the tasks they’ve been set, and thus the quality of Enfields service is sacrificed to serve the large amount of customers they take on every year.
I wish the company the best and have no ill will, but as a student I cannot in good faith recommend this company to my peers.

GoogleFrom my first contact with the lettings team at Enfields I was very impressed by their attitude and how they took time to explain the process and fees. This is my first adventure into the buy to let market and they gave me confidence that I needed. They quickly found a new tenant who moved in 3 days after completion !
Rhys and his team kept me informed right through the process. I will definitely use them again.

GoogleFor all students seeking house-shares, I’d be doing a disservice by staying silent about this estate agency. They made our university experience miserable for nearly a year. When we moved in, the flat was unliveable. It smelled of damp and cigarettes, with burns and stains all over the carpet and walls. Several light fixtures didn’t work, the shower door was removed, and the list of issues goes on. I had to move out immediately and stay in an Airbnb, as it was impossible to live there.
I promptly emailed the agency with photos, asking for repairs within a week and some compensation. I received slow responses, and when I had to move back in due to starting a new job, the flat was still in disrepair. They replaced some carpets and did a poor job on the rest, ignoring most of the issues I raised. They seemed unconcerned for our safety, whether it was the landlord or the agency. When they did respond, they defended the landlord as a “lovely person,” but that did nothing to improve our living conditions.
We were forced to live in a vermin-infested flat. To their credit, they sent pest control several times, but even the pest control company mentioned that Enfields had a reputation for not getting landlords to pay for necessary repairs. They informed us that the pest problem was ongoing and that we weren’t told before signing the lease. Had we known, we would not have moved in.
This wasn’t the only time we were warned about the agency. When we had a faulty boiler that made loud noises, we contacted the company Enfields recommended for out-of-hours issues. The company informed us they wouldn’t come out unless it was an emergency because Enfields couldn’t get their landlords to pay. The boiler was only “fixed” near the end of our tenancy when the landlord decided to sell the flat. Ironically, the plumber had previously claimed there was nothing wrong, despite the pressure gauge being at zero. This resulted in a high gas bill for us.
Throughout the tenancy, the agency did just enough so we couldn’t say nothing was being done, but they never fully fixed or apologized for the issues. Yet, they repeatedly assured us that our landlord was a lovely man, as if that excused their incompetence.
When we moved out, in what I can only assume was a poor attempt at humour, they attempted to claim over £700 from our deposit, despite the fact that one of the bedrooms had such severe damp and mold that I had to throw away clothes and an expensive mattress topper. At first, they admitted the damp issue, so we bought a dehumidifier and requested compensation. They asked for the receipt and promised to reimburse us but never did. Later, they sent an agent who claimed there was no smell. This baffled us, especially when their post-inventory noted that the room smelled strongly of mildew, damp, and mold.
But, nevertheless, our landlord was apparently a lovely man, so I guess that is a justifiable resolution to the 11 months & two weeks of incompetency.
We left the flat smarter and more cautious about renting. I now warn everyone I know who is looking to rent or buy. If Enfields ever responds to this review (which would be a miracle), please note that I have records of all communication, photos, and even testimonies from the previous tenants. I’m more than happy to sit down and discuss everything with them.
Enfields and the mysterious landlord, have the day you deserve.

GoogleAbsolutely terrible estate agents. I advise all students to steer clear of them. I was a student moving into my first year house, and the property had not finished refurbishment on the move-in date set. There was no furniture at all and I had to wait a further week for everything to be completed, meaning I missed out on my freshers week, making my experience of going to university a nightmare to begin with. On top of this throughout the entire year Enfields were useless and we had so many problems it would take me hours to list them all. Stay away.

GoogleI have previously had bad experiences with using a letting agent to manage my property. I have to say that Enfields are a breath of fresh air, they are professional, helpful and put you as the customer first. I have opted for the guaranteed rent and full managed service and it’s been great!
Kate has been a star, the council tried to charge me for council tax when they shouldn’t of. Kate must of spent hours on the phone to them sorting it for me, can’t thank her enough!
Keep up the good work guys

GoogleIf you ever wondered what it might feel like to communicate via smoke signals across the Atlantic, may I introduce you to Enfields Bournemouth. Their communication skills make carrier pigeons seem cutting-edge, and they approach urgent repairs with the urgency of a snail considering a marathon, particularly when our house became a miniature Niagara Falls for over 7 months. Leaking ceilings? Ah, just part of the ambiance, apparently!
As for deposit returns, well... ever played Monopoly and landed on “Go to Jail” for the tenth time in a row? That sinking, unjust feeling sums it up. Enfields seems to think they’ve entered the high art of creative writing when it comes to making up reasons to keep as much of your deposit as possible. Want to be charged for wear and tear? Or maybe you fancy some unsubstantiated cleaning fees? They've got you covered.
What really stings is after chatting with friends who rented through literally *any* other agency, they had zero of these problems. Responsive agents, honest communication, and *actual* repairs, what a concept!
To sum it up, renting with Enfields is like trying to have a coherent conversation with a wall, you end up with nothing but frustration. But hey, if you’re after a lesson in patience, or need an excuse to buy a bucket for your living room, look no further!
Honestly, in all seriousness, save yourself the time and hassle and go with anyone else. Especially if you are a student, you will be at the bottom of their priority list.

GoogleEnfields came highly recommended to us, and have been fantastic from start to finish. Greg did an amazing job preparing us and our property for sale, and got us multiple offers on the first open day. He's enthusiastic and professional, and a really great guy!
After we'd sold and had an offer accepted on our forward purchase, Jessica took over and did an absolutely incredible job chasing all parties in the chain and providing regular updates by phone and email as to how things were going. She took away a whole load of the stress of buying and selling, was brilliantly communicative, and managed to keep all the solicitors in line and rolling forwards. Any time we had a question or concern, she was more than happy to assist.
Enfields clearly have a fantastic team working for them, and we'd highly recommend them to everyone!

GoogleFrom start to finish in our property selling adventure the Enfields team have been nothing but first class - from the initial valuation visit from Greg, a top professional, impressive market knowledge, listening to our concerns as well as proposing a first class marketing plan, which was delivered 'in spades' - a superb enthusiastic, yet considered, video presentation of our home through to setting-up the Open Day and selling our home of 28 years inside a week or so of it being marketed. Backed up very ably by all his colleagues throughout the process - the support from Jessica, after our sale agreed, was also top-drawer, keeping us updated, advising us on where we were and what we needed to do in the chain, always delivered in a cheery yet professional manner - Really can't fault the Enfields team they are truly experts and on top of their game.

GoogleSTUDENTS DON’T RENT HERE💥
Enfield’s are known for being awful to their student tenants. Last year we were given a contract to sign that was £600pcm only for them to phone a month later and change the rent to £1000pcm because they ‘read the wrong advert.’ The agent who showed me the property, proceeded to lie over the phone and tell me she definitely told me it was £1000 despite pictures, notes and messages proving otherwise. They also then revealed that despite saying the contract had been completed by all parties, the landlord had never signed it and so it wasn’t a valid contract and therefore we couldn’t challenge it. It’s come to my attention that numerous of my peers have been falsely advertised too, being sold completely different properties and moving in to something entirely different. If you are a student, don’t rent via them, there are far nicer companies in bournemouth who care about student wellbeing.

GoogleI have used Enfields for the purchase of two Student houses over the last 8 years . They were exremely quick efficient and helpful. They then helped me to sell one of these houses and again a quick and efficient service This year they found four students for me and I have continued to manage the house. The students were found, shown round the house and signed up quickly. All went well with no problems and I continue to manage the house. I am so pleased with them that from next year 2016/17 I will give them the full management of the house. I care about the students who live in my property and I care about my property by looking after it. It is therefore because I can trust Enfields I am giving them the full management. I will of couse still always be there at the end of my email for my Students. Thanks Jonathan and co. for all your help over the years.

Harry · 29 July 2019
Agent replied
Hi Harry,
Thank you for taking the opportunity to review your experience and it is disappointing to read of your dissatisfaction.
Firstly we would like to thank you for thinking of Enfields in the first place to help you find your next home. We have now had the opportunity to look into your comments and can confirm we do not generally arrange 10 viewings in one day for our clients and had advised you in an email sent on February 7th at 10:08 that we would we would be able to provide you with a maximum of one hour to show you a handful of two bedroom homes in the area. Following this you provided a number of properties you were considering and we responded on the same day at 13:40 confirming that most of the properties are now unavailable due to other prospective tenants securing them throughout February. We also confirmed in writing if this was the case that we would show you the best available properties on the day.
We understand that you met Charlotte at our office as planned who had arranged a run of back to back properties to show you within your budget and you had advised that you had just viewed another property that was in your first choice location and the properties we would be able to show you were too far away. At this stage, given the lack of two bedroom homes available close to the University, we agreed with you that you should pursue this particular home as it fitted your exact requirements and we cancelled the viewings we had arranged.
Rest assured your feedback is very much appreciated and will regularly review our booking process in an effort to see if we can improve it for the future.
Thank you again for allowing us to assist you and our team is on hand should still require any help in the future.
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
