I recently bought a property through Enfields (completed today!) and have been very impressed with their level of service. From the initial viewing to completion they have been extremely professional and reliable. I was given a named contact at the start of the process and Freya has been excellent - pushing both sets of solicitors and really driving the process forward. She really kept me in the loop which was much appreciated as it meant I did not have to chase her for information.

Incompetence does not cover it. It has taken over 2 months to finally make progress in getting our deposit returned. I calculated in one 10 day period during this 2 month process, I emailed Jonathan (our property manager) 4 times and telephoned 6 times, each time to be told he would call me back the same day, and never received any contact whatsoever. Enfeilds has a reputation in the student community in Bournemouth for being useless. I would avoid. Basic maintenance issues reported upon getting they keys to property in September, and these issues were still not resolved by move out date in August. The landlord is now attempting to charge for these to be resolved, despite them being pre-existing before we moved into the property. We are having to look into the lengthy process of taking Enfeilds l, and the landlord, to small claims court to try and get our money back.

Oliver, Thank you so much for your feedback. We are disappointed to read your comments as we know you have allowed us to help you find rental accommodation on more than one occasion previous to this most recent tenancy. We completely understand your point of view regarding your attempts to contact your property manager during a particular week in September but this unfortunately clashed with the same week that they were assisting all new students moving into their accommodation. I understand that your property manager contacted you directly on the 29th September at the end of that week to apologise for not responding sooner and we wish to apologise again. We are aware we need to improve our response time during that period and your feedback is valuable for this reason. Having investigated the other points your raised relating to maintenance from the beginning of your tenancy we are satisfied we have acted in a timely and professional manor: 1. On tenancy start date all keys supplied to front and back door but landlord forgot to supply a spare key to second back door in downstairs bedroom, Once issued reported member of team obtained a key and drove over to you in person to drop off. 2. Hoover reported as not working, Member of the team drove over in person and rectified issue. 3. Reported issues with boiler pressure and radiators not heating up, Immediately passed on to your landlord who arranged to visit the property in person along with their plumber who rectified issue 4. 2 weeks later similar problems resurface with boiler, Immediately passed on to your landlord again who liaised with their plumber to get issue rectified Regarding the deposit deductions your landlord arranged for an independent inventory and check out inspection to take place and has supplied you with these reports along with all contractor invoices for the deductions you have been forwarded (landlord has requested to hold back approximately 20% of your deposit). Whilst you can take your landlord to the smalls claims court please note your deposit is lodged with a government scheme, The Deposit Protection Service, where it is much quicker and cheaper to use the schemes dispute resolution service should you and your landlord be unable to agree. Our director has already tried to reach out to you in directly without success to offer further guidance in this situation. Feel free to email them on jthomas@enfields.co.uk .

If I could give Enfields 0 stars I would. Honestly they do not know what time management is, they have no clue what sending an email by the end of the day means, no they send their emails weeks later. Communication with this company is really bad, they suck at responding, they are unserious and bad at what they do. As students staying months without an oven begging them for someone to come and fix it is ridiculous. Overall my experience with them was awful and I don’t recommend.

Svilen, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with your tenancy at Capstone Road and sorry to hear you have been unhappy with the overall experience. We have taken the time to investigate your comments and understand you had a couple of maintenance issues with the property during your stay. On the 6th October you notified us that the glass screen of the oven was not secure and we passed this onto your landlord who asked us not to take any action as they intended to rectify the issue themselves. It was not until the 26th October that your landlord contacted us requesting that they wanted us to arrange the repair and our contractor then attended within 48 hours. We understand your frustration in this instance but we can only take action once we have received your landlords authority. Nevertheless, we have reviewed all email communication between us and we are unable to see where we have failed to reply to you. One of our team has already reached out to you directly in order to help turn your experience around.

Absolutely top marks to Jonathon at The Enfield Estate Agent for being a complete star throughout all the processes of baying a new flat. was an excellent and responded quickly to texts or calls. It was particularly reassuring to know it would always be him at the end of the phone and not someone unknown in an office team. Enfield is just the right blend of professional and friendly, and was unfailingly helpful and cheerful.

A big thank you to Enfields who successfully sold our flat. We were extremely pleased with them throughout the whole process and can't thank them enough for all their help and support. We dealt primarily with Jonathon, Charlotte and Freya, who were all fantastic. At our initial meeting, Jonathon really took the time to explain how Enfields would go about marketing the property and remained on-hand throughout the whole process. Charlotte then quickly found us a reliable buyer for the property - we loved both her enthusiasm and how positive she was. Freya was our sales Progressor and was absolutely fantastic. She was always so friendly and called with regular updates to let us know how things were moving along. She was always contactable if we needed any advice or had any questions. Having previously had an awful experience with a large corporate Estate Agency, Enfields really turned things around for us and we will definitely be using them again if we decide to move in the future. Although we dealt primarily with Jonathon, Charlotte and Freya, we found the whole team to be extremely enthusiastic and helpful. Thank you again to Enfields for everything you have done for us!

Rented a student property for a year with two others. Had a plethora of issues with the property, including bug infestations, broken heating during Winter months (with poor insulation). It took 3 months for them to fix heating, so I had to move out of the property for said time due to health complications caused by the damp and coldness. I requested for matters to be solved on many separate occasions, and was met with complete apathy and a lot of 'it is the tenant's responsibility...' (despite it being written in the contract that it is solely the landlord's responsibility to ensure the heating appliances are functioning). Many issues weren't solved for the remainder of the tenancy, and we are now potentially being charged for said issues not being solved at the end of the tenancy. I requested compensation for the costs incurred by having to find somewhere else to live, but the landlord refused (despite having no involvement in the property's upkeep during the tenancy). Property was described as part-furnished, however most furniture at the property had a form of issue (either broken or bug infested, and for a student property there were no desks). Again, Enfields were informed of this, but no action was taken. Landlord had people come round to the property to pick up equipment/ cut down trees in the garden without giving us any notice. When Enfields were asked about this, they were extremely unhelpful, and ended up ignoring my future emails to them. In all honesty, I am unsure what their purpose was as property managers as they were unsuccessful at communicating between tenant and landlord and were extremely neglectful agents. It took a lot of chasing up, time and effort to get even the smallest help from them. Despite all the issues with the property not being fixed, the rent has somehow been increased for next year's tenants. Absolutely disgusting. Would definitely not recommend, and I am concerned about the number of students they are treating like this.

As a tennant in a student house, we have had a positive experience with enfields. Although the house has suffered a few issues, enfields - in particularly Kate Noble (our house manager) has been very efficient in ensuring our problems are solved i.g. proving us with a new fridge, oven and hoover promptly when asked. Kate is efficient in replying to emails and has a friendly manner in which we haven’t really received from alternate letting agents. We will be using Enfields again!

Excellent agents. As a landlord i highly recommend them. Found us tenants really quickly, in the first instance the first to see rented the place. Very good at matching the right tenants to the property too. I also carry out maintenance work for Enfields and i find that they always want any problems with properties resolved straight away. This is excellent for the tenants plus friendly staff, (in particular Michael, Lisa and Ryhs) that are always happy to help with any issues.

We have recently let a property through Enfields in Winton. They dealt with us as prospective tenants with the utmost of care and respect. Liz who looked after the paperwork and liaised with us on moving in dates was so helpful and provided great customer service with my many last minute questions and concerns. Alex was also kind enough to meet me at the property so I could take some measurements prior to us moving in. I have already recommended Enfields to our previous landlord to support him a sale and friends who are looking to rent. The stress of moving has been somewhat eased by this agencies professional approach.

Being first time buyers you never know what to expect and having dealt with many estate agents in the Bournemouth area we had almost lost hope in finding a property that ticked all the boxes. Enfields were fantastic right from the first call! From previous experience we were quite apprehensive to the service we would receive following offer being accepted however Lucy and the team have completely changed our opinions, by providing such an excellent and personal service. We have been provided with regular updates by Lucy throughout the process which makes you feel really valued by the them. Thank you to each member of the team that has helped us on our journey. We can't wait to move in!

They say a great first impression is what counts the most. This was certainly the case contacting Enfields for the first time. Sophia Riley was an absolute champ from start to finish. She was warm and welcoming on the phone, set up property viewings straight away and showed us around the properties quick and efficiently. Her bubbly personality and undoubtable enjoyment of her job really stood out to us. The property we ended up purchasing for next year is absolutely perfect and it's all thanks to how good Sophia has been. We are very excited! Being a fussy bunch due to previous experiences with property purchase, we didn't make it easy for her, but she stood by us till we were happy! So a huge thanks Sophia, for your great service and hard work! We really appreciate it!

If I could take away stars I would. This agency provided us with the worst ever experience in our lifes so far .We signed up with them to sell our property because of Bethany's proffesionalism ,but now we regret ever opening the door of their office .First viewing and their agent that should have been responsible for the safety of our property ,Charlotte, left the property unsecured as didn't even bothered to close the entrance door to the flat.Neil took over ,and he was great .He did his job.We had a buyer within a few weeks.Their conveyor was spot on ,but after two emils ,she left the company ,and this is when everything went ..down .Deep down .For weeks we haven't heard anything from anyone in the agency .Then we got in contact with the buyers(what I have learnt from this experience-don't ever do that)as neither of knew what is happening as no one was talking to us.For weeks. Then Jonathon put the responsibility of conveying on Neil, not his job! Then he took it on -Useless!To cut th e story short....er:We had to chase them for every information ,they refused to answer to my phone calls ,so we had to hide the number or call from my husbands phone(And We were supposed to pay for this service?!?!?!)When we managed to get hold of im ,in many conversations I had to ask why it feels like they are working only for the buyers? After all ,we were going to give money out to them .Not the byers. And we are not unfair people. But when it is good three months in ,and nothing has moved and Jonathon kept doing nothing...Well ,wouldn't everyone start asking questions?!Almost six months in ,million requests later, the buyers pulled out This would have never happen with Bethany being in the office ,or a proper conveyor.Thank you a lot Enfields! Where do I start.. rented a student property through Enfields at the start of the academic year, throughout they were fairly good at getting our requests sorted. However, since we have moved out almost 2 months ago we’ve been left in the dark regarding our deposit. Each of us receiving copy and paste answers that have been sent to not only our house but others as well. They have been absolutely shocking and constantly been pinning it on the Landlord when it is obviously an issue within Enfields. We have been moved out for almost 2 months now and new tenants are moved in so clearly nothing to have been claimed on deposit. Would not recommend them as a student tenant at all, let alone a normal tenant.

Isaac, Thank you for your review and we are glad to hear you had a positive experience during your tenancy hence why it is so disappointing to learn how unhappy you are since your tenancy has come to an end. Please take comfort that your deposit was protected lawfully by Enfields at the beginning of the tenancy via a government authorised custodial scheme called the DPS. We picked this scheme as it is the largest provider of deposit protection in the UK and the aim of the DPS is to ensure that you are treated fairly at the end of your tenancy hence why I am confident we can help resolve your concerns. We would ask that you email jthomas@enfields.co.uk with the property address who will be able help you.

Friendly staff when you can speak to them, however very poor communication overall which requires constant reminding to get anything done. The agent who first showed us our property didn’t appear to know anything about it and only gave us about 5 minutes to look. Our property was in a poor state when we moved in although I understand that is not entirely the estate agents fault and they did sort it quickly. Our tenancy is now over and we are awaiting our deposit back however we haven’t received any information or updates about it and it’s been over a month now. I’ve tried to get in touch both through email and phone calls over the last couple of days and have had no response. Not impressed.

We’ve just bought a property through Enfields and found the team to be really helpful throughout the entire process. Amy in particular has been absolutely amazing and we both felt completely at ease with her from the very first viewing. She was both friendly and professional, gave us the space to view the property at our own pace and always came back to us promptly when we had questions or wanted to arrange another viewing. She remembered us when the initial sale fell through and called us immediately to let us know, a lovely personal touch and ultimately meant we have now moved into a house we love. Thank you!

I have rented a student property with Enfields and have been extremely disappointed with their speed of responses and customer service. When we moved into the property it had not been cleaned at all, there were old rusty bikes dumped in the garden, bin bags full of waste left in the shed, overgrown trees and bushes, smashed glass left in the garden, broken doorbells, disgusting mouldy blinds on all windows (of which they only replaced half of after we chased them up for 2 months to have fixed), broken back gate, a toilet door that was hanging off. We were left locked out of the property for 2 days on a Bank Holiday as their emergency out of hours locksmith would not answer and they were closed, we were given a black bin without a lid and told it was up to ourselves to replace it and pay the fee for it (even though it was broken when we moved in). We complained about mould and damp for months until they sent a contractor who simply bleached and painted over the mould so that it returned, the carpets in the house were black with dirt and thin as anything. We cleaned the property when we vacated and have yet to hear back about our deposit over a month ago with no contact. Unfortunately, I am renting with them next year too and have already had similar issues about keeping a deposit for weeks on end that we were owed and having to constantly chase them up for any kind of action to be taken.

Georgia · 12 September 2022

Agent replied

Georgia, Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. We have now had an opportunity to investigate your concerns and am disappointed to hear of your negative experience, rest assured your feedback has been shared with the team in order to help improve our standards. We always strive to make the moving in process straightforward and wish apologise if you felt we did not deliver. In this instance I understand a member of our team came to the property on your tenancy start date to make sure you were happy with the house and contacted your landlord to let them know your concerns. Your landlord acknowledged that some of the blinds were old and agreed to supply new ones in the lounge, hall and two of the bedrooms, he has confirmed he had never promised to supply new blinds in all of the bedrooms, only where needed. Regarding the bin lid we agree that it is not your responsibility and your landlord paid the council for a replacement at the beginning of tenancy and I can see one was delivered to the property. Your landlord paid for a professional cleaning company to complete a deep clean of the house prior to you moving in and we have reviewed the independent inventory report which took place that morning confirming that the property was cleaned to a professional standard. We have raised the issue of the garden with your landlord who has provided us with an invoice from a gardening company who cut and deweeded the front and rear gardens before you moved in, we have also looked at the photos of the inventory report which confirm the rear garden has mature trees and shrubs but the garden was fit for use. The landlord has apologised if there was items left in the garden shed but believed there was still room for bikes to be stored. We have looked into the issue of the toilet door and understand you are referring to the old outside toilet. The inventory reconfirms that this outside toilet door is noticeably weathered (but still on its hinges) but historically has not been used as there are 2 bathrooms shared between 4 tenants in the main house. We notified your landlord of your request for a new door and he arranged to have a new door fitted straight away. We are sorry to learn that you all locked yourselves out of your house. We recommend a reputable local 24 hour locksmith and we have shared your feedback with them as well as add a second company to our site. There are several other local 24 hour locksmiths and we hope you were able to reach out to one of these. Regarding your deposit this is something not kept by Enfields as it was lodged with an authorised deposit protection scheme. Your landlord arranged to have an independent check out done and we understand that you have now received this report along with the landlords deductions. We wish to thank you for allowing us to help you find your accommodation again this year which will give us an opportunity to improve your experience.
