GoogleGreat accommodation with amazing staff! Made a great stay for my final year. My only gripes would be the number of washing machines and no Ethernet ports, but you adapt to it quickly!

GoogleI had a great experience staying here. Nicci, my accommodation manager, was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. Communication was excellent, and everything was made easy from start to finish. The studio apartment was perfect, clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a hassle-free stay.

GoogleAbysmal is the only word to describe these flats. Stayed here for my final two years of study. In my first year there, I moved in to an absolutely filthy flat that had not been cleaned in the slightest. During this year there were frequent false fire alarms (not alarm test related) which would ring out for up to two hours at their worst in the middle of the night, leaving everyone outside shivering in the cold while we wait for the fire department to inspect the building. Alongside this, there were a host of other issues with utilities and general poor appliance/furniture quality. In my second year, this only worsened, where I spent almost as much time without hot water than with often for weeks at a time. On top of this due to poor maintenence a faulty washing machine (which are not free to use by the way), caused a flood, knocking out the power on multiple floors of the building, and it took a week to restore said power. Xenia also refused to provide compensation for any lost perishables and fridge/freezer contents unless full receipts could be provided. This was not the only powercut that happened, they were rather frequent. Furthermore, while when the internet connection was working it was great, it was subject to almost weekly downtime for extended periods of time, making it very hard to get any work done. Now that I've moved out of the flat, Xenia have tried to test their luck by claiming I was in arrears. They tested this twice despite the first time round confirming that they were wrong. The second time they simply havent responded. This non-responsive approach is a habit it seems, as it's now been three months since moving out and despite leaving the room in frankly a better state than it was found in, Xenia are yet to return my deposit and are not answering the phone or any emails. I'd like to say that the staff were great, however considering that they were hardly ever available at the front desk during reasonable business hours, I can't even compliment that. On top of this, when said staff failed to account for moving in/out days causing more rubbish than usual, causing the bin stores to pile up to the door leaving you unable to even get in, they tried to blame the tenants for leaving their rubbish outside the bin store and threatened them for Xenia's own oversight. Furthermore, it's not like its a particularly quiet or even safe area to be living as well (which admittedly isn't the fault of Xenia), with the Empire nightclub just down the road, it gets extremely noisy at night and fights on the street are not an uncommon sight. This is only abbetted by the fact that the doors (particularly the fob scanners and locks on the doors) have been known to break at times. If you don't mind living without basic habitability needs, reasonable customer service who when they do respond just say its not their problem, and the expectation that you won't be subject to attempted theft by the company after paying above the local standard in rent, then this is the place for you. If you'd rather have even a decent place to live however, look elsewhere than this crumbling wreck.

GoogleI had a great experience visiting Sovereign Newbank. Abi showed me around the property and was very friendly, welcoming, and courteous throughout the tour. She took the time to show me all of the amenities and also explained the upcoming improvements planned for the building, which was really helpful. GoogleNo Aircon in our bit, seemed like the main student bit did but very uncomfortable in the heat.

GoogleI really appreciate Abigail's help in resolving an issue that had been outstanding for months. My shower head had been broken since February and was unsafe to use, as it could have caused an injury if it came into contact with my skin. Despite reporting it months earlier, nothing had been done. At the beginning of June, I spoke to Abigail about the issue, and within just 2 to 3 weeks she made sure it was replaced. She was professional, responsive, and followed up until the job was completed. Abigail genuinely cares about residents and takes action when something needs fixing. She is a great asset to the company, and her hard work and commitment deserve to be recognised.

GoogleXenia HR 0/5 Stars It's been nearly 8 months and Xenia HR still haven't reimbursed insurance for a power outage that forced people on multiple floors to book a hotel room for 1-2 nights. On site staff & maintenance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars Friendly when I've talked to them, maintenance is fast and effective at fixing issues within their control. Noise levels (Exterior)⭐⭐⭐ 3/5 Stars Friday and Saturday nights mean listening to the bass from the Empire Club (which is great if you like raving in bed). There's also constant noise from loud cars with Temu exhausts that would probably fail their MOT if they didn't go to their uncles shop. But for the first 2 weeks, just don't look out your window every time you hear it and pretend you're in Monaco rather than seeing a generic German car. Safety & Location Be vigilant at night time. Avoid walking away from the busy areas at night as there are frequently people in balaclavas on motorbikes and e bikes around. During the day time the worst you'll get is an NPC asking you to buy them a meal deal; that's just Middlesbrough. Hidden Costs Laundry is extortionate, you will be required to take out a loan with a bank every time you use it. Also, parking a car whilst living in this building wont qualify you for a parking permit. (I use Cleveland Car Park for secure parking which is £50 a month)

GoogleLived here for a year during my 2nd year of Uni, and really enjoyed my room. Everything about my room itself was perfect, my own kitchen and bathroom and bedroom and I rarely had any troubles. The only troubles we had were unavoidable regarding some heating and hot water issues that were always solved as soon as reasonably possible. Absolutely loved Nicci as well, always enjoyed chatting even if was about boring questions- Thank you! Overall it's a great place to stay for students and it's decently cheap!

GoogleOur building had long-standing maintenance issues that weren't being addressed, until Abi came in. She's kind, empathetic, and genuinely approachable, and she made a real difference for many residents, including me. She sorted out problems I'd been chasing for ages. Honestly, I would have ended my tenancy if she hadn't stepped in.
