GoogleAlthough the initial value of our property was probably too high, which would seem to be the norm for this company, we did eventually sell for considerably lower price. However, Charlotte and Maria at the Penistone office were very helpful and kept us well informed throughout the process, I can't thank them enough.

GoogleExcellent service from the Simon Blyth Penistone office. Both Maria and Charlotte were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Maria was particularly "dogged" in pressurising our solicitors to complete in the shortest possible time.

GoogleI wasn’t very satisfied with their service. When we had an in-person meeting, they didn’t provide me with any details about the shop and just said they would send an email. Even after the email, it took some time for them to give me the necessary information. Now that I am trying to rent the shop, I constantly have to call and follow up. If I don’t contact them, they don’t reach out to me at all. Even when I do call, they just tell me to wait until they get back to me. I also have to wait a long time on the phone just to reach the right person, and sometimes the call gets disconnected, so I have to call again and again. It has been a long time now, and there has been no progress. That’s why I’m not satisfied with their service.

GoogleWe have had an excellent experience with Simon Blyth Estate Agents. The team at Barnsley and Penistone are professional and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to understand and communication was always clear and timely. Stacey and the girls couldn't have done any more and were always up for a friendly chat. Recently we have met Simon over another matter, and from his persona its obvious that his interest and enthusiasm within his industry is transmitted through to his staff.

GoogleStay away from Simon Blyth (Barnsley Branch). They are unprofessional, lied to us and delayed the whole process, which meant that our buyers had to pull out of our property and we lost the sale of the property we were going to buy via SB. The property we were going to buy was actually still in probate for 3-4 weeks after our offer was accepted, which they failed to tell us. They just kept making up excuses as to why they couldn't get hold of the sellers. We placed our offer on condition that the house was removed from the market, which took them well over a week to remove (mark at sold stc) after many attempts of chasing them and getting excuses/lied to. After further attempts of back and forth, we had confirmation that everything was going through and progressing well. Then immediately had a call back an hour after that all of a sudden another offer "higher" than ours had come in and would we want to up our price - yet they refused to provide us with proof of this offer - which is an amazing coincidence since the property had been up for sale for almost a year and all of a sudden a "higher" offer came in after they'd accepted our offer? Very hard to believe and we are in the process of proving that this was the case. That is fraud. We paid out a lot of money for the usual surveys, as well as additional structural surveys. It was agreed that the property was still going to be sold to us until we found another buyer, and despite promising this, they underhandedly offered the property to another buyer. Despite having lost money during the awful process of trying to purchase a property through SB and the lies, I am glad to not have to deal with any more of their dishonesty and games. ***EDIT TO SIMON BLYTH REPLY: Again, our property sale/chain fell through due to the delays at Simon Blyth's end because they lied and failed to disclose that the property we'd had our offer accepted on wasn't actually proceedable at that point due to it still being in probate. Excuses and delays were made by the estate agent, and when we eventually did get our initial paperwork from the vendors, it clearly states they'd only received ownership of the property earlier that week! Be upfront and honest with prospective buyers. Don't dupe and trick them into making offers on houses which aren't actually available. Not a trustworthy estate agent at all.
Dear Jade, We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with your interactions with our company, but I can assure you that all our actions were true and in conjunction with the wishes of our vendors. When dealing with multiple vendors, as we have in this case, communication can be a little slower due to agreement needed from all parties. On this occasion we also had delays from interested parties, who wished to purchase, but could only formalise their offers once they had achieved a sale on their own home, as was the case with yourselves. This led to offers being accepted out of sync, and on this occasion more than one buyer became proceedable at the same time. We agreed a sale with yourselves, but after the sale on your home fell through, an offer came in from someone who had viewed prior to the sale been agreed with yourself and as per the vendor’s instruction, we agreed a sale to this other party due to your inability to proceed. We have acted above board and in good faith throughout and assure you that everything was conducted as it should have been during the process. 72% one star - is that a record!? Absolutely agree with the other reviews - awful firm, hugely regret not reading these first. Extremely poor contact, rushed around to get me to reduce the price before a suspicious offer (that I was serially misinformed about the nature of), I felt that they were working for the buyer rather than me? Absolute waste of time and then they refused to remove a knowingly false advert on Rightmove (Rightmove are removing it). 'Avoid' doesn't even begin to describe it.Repeatedly asked them to engage - they repeatedly ignored! weird!
