Robertson homes have left a community…

Robertson homes have left a community without a primary school after failing to keep to their deadlines. Finish our school!!

Dargavel Primary School is being delivered by Robertson Construction for BAE Systems who in turn are delivering for Renfrewshire Council.Robertson Homes and Robertson Construction have no contractual links. Robertson Homes has no obligation in the delivery of the new school.Robertson Construction has released the following statement.A spokesperson for Robertson said:“We have been working with our customer BAE Systems to deliver the new Dargavel Primary School for Renfrewshire Council. “Many of the local community have expressed frustration at the building not being available for the new school term in August and while we understand their frustration, we remain committed to delivering a high-quality school for the community.“The start of the project was delayed as a result of the March 2020 lock down instructed by government to protect the community and workforce from COVID. Since starting the project, we have been complying with stringent safe operating procedures which are in place to protect both the workforce and the community. This has resulted in a reduction of the number of people who can be on-site at any one time. Safety is our number one priority and as a result we cannot and will not compromise the health and wellbeing of our workforce or the communities we work in. “Due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic and the effect that this has had on our industry, coupled with our priority to keep the communities where we work and our workforce safe the school will not be handed over in August. “We appreciate the frustration of the local community and would like to assure them that we share their desire for a high-quality school which will enhance attainment and benefit the local community for years to come.“The date for opening the new Dargavel Primary School will be announced shortly.”ENDS

Regarding your review relating to Dargavel Primary School: The school is being built by Robertson Construction under an agreed contract with Renfrewshire Council. It had been hoped to have the school completed ahead of schedule in time for the new term in August, however the unprecedented pandemic which forced a three-month shut-down followed by stricter control on site working and numbers has pushed this back. It is unfortunate that this message has not been clearly conveyed to parents and we understand your frustration and concern for your children about to start their school journey in August. As it is Robertson Construction which is building the new school, may we ask you respectfully to remove your review of Robertson Homes.Best wishes,The Robertson Homes team.

Untrustworthy

Robertson homes have left hundreds of locals disappointed and broken their trust by suddenly announcing they will not complete the desperately needed new primary school only weeks after saying it would be ready . Profits before children and new houses rushed up while neglecting the local community completely unacceptable .

Disgraceful that with less than three weeks before the end of term Robertson have done a complete u-turn and said the new school at Dargavel they are building will not be completed on time. Robertsons not keeping their promises!

I'm disgusted at the recent news that Dargavel Primary school will now not be ready for August as promised. Up until 2 weeks ago we were assured it would be, now the bombshell has been dropped 2 weeks before the end of term. Blatant disregard for hundreds of children being left without a school, poor show Robertsons! I'm sure this could still be done on time if enough effort was made!

Glenburn Manor- Jackton

Hi, I would like to say a huge thank you to Robertson homes at Glenburn Manor for the great customer service. Fraser who works within the sales team was just fantastic from the moment to viewing the show home to all the enquires we had about planning to make Glenburn Manor our dream home. I felt the support my partner and I got through the whole process of purchasing the home was very pleasurable and not as stressful as anticipated. When moving into our new home (of course snagging items were expected) though I must admit my partner and I could count on one hand on the minor snagging items that needed sorted. The standard of the build blew my partner and I away with the high quality standard and only with a few upgrades!! The home looked like we had paid for the full house to be upgraded with extras but it wasn't just blows my mind!!!! Site manager and his team have really worked together to make this site special to build Glenburn Manor to a outstanding standard . You have an amazing team of workmen and workmanship. Huge well done. Thank You, S&M

Went well over and above his duties! Sending us photos, getting samples sorted out etc for us! First class service and a top guy all round!!!Did the handover today with him and the site manager Gary and they were both very very helpful with explaining everything and couldn't fault any of it! The finish to the house was very very good!!! A few minor snags which they are gonna put right in the coming weeks. But overall amazing!!! And would highly recommend them.

Given up trying to get our home fixed after 18 months, now asking the NHBC to support in getting the Robertson team to care in the slightest. Even their exec board team don't reply to customers, nobody genuinely seems to give a hoot once they sell a house.Avoid buying from Robertsons. Great marketing but the reality is very different.

Wynyard

Reserved a Wynyard house many many months ago in 2020. We chose the house based on when it would be ready to move as we wished to use help to buy (HTB) scheme which was soon coming to an end.Issue 1 - Builder running short of windows - so couldn't get a CML certificate in time - so we were informed we would now not be able to use the HTB scheme we initially wished to use saddling us with bigger mortgage. Importantly Robertson advised they'd still complete the house to original deadline though. We had to obtain another Mortgage as a result.Issue 2 - Soon after Robertson now informed us their builder was in fact running behind and it'd now be a month later than planned so they could finish properly, not rush and do a proper job. House readiness date moved back 4wks.Issue 3 - Just days before the rescheduled readiness date Robertson rang to inform us someone had forgotten to paint the house in the colour we'd chosen. Another 2-4wks delay to paint the right colour and address some snagging.Issue 4 - via their Robertson informed us via their solicitor they'll be pulling incentives previously agreed unless we exchanged ASAP (quoting that we were made aware they have the right to do so as it's in our customer journey pack and on our reservation paperwork) - granted it is but to us seemed very aggressive tactic from house builder.Sale fell through.Genuinely in this person's view the house builder does not meet deadlines agreed and now devastated we're forced to look elsewhere for our dream house.Ps do read all the reviews below from other Wynyard purchasers / other developments.Pps after reading some of the other house purchasers issues below on this page and in social media we also agreed with Robertson’s for our own appointed Quantity Surveyor to go in to look round the house and write a report before we considered exchanging. Perhaps something you might want to do also.

Great Glen Hall, Exceptional.

In the process of buying our 3rd property from Robertsons at Great Glen Hall Inverness. Sales manager Jacqui and Liz have gone above and beyond expectations to make the process of buying and selling an enjoyable experience, and to ensure we are totally satisfied with the end result. We used the easy move scheme which was exactly what we needed. We never felt pressured at any point and help was always on hand to assist with interior choices. The communication throughout all stages of the build process to ensure we were up to date with any changes and satisfied with the progress was excellentWe have bought new builds before but the customer service does not come close to what we have experienced with Robertsons. The interior finishings are excellent. Overall we are delighted with the house and service provided. We would highly recommend buying from Robertsons, and the warm and friendly approach from Jacqui and Liz and the site staff should be a credit to the company. Brian and Liz Kelman

poor finish, customer care non existent

It comes as no surprise that others have had the same poor experience with Robertson homes. They have an excuse for everything!Water coming through a utility room ceiling and i was asked to stop using the bathroom above as it wasnt seen as an emergency, bannister disconnected at the top of the stairs causing both a hazard and a pinch point for injury.Interior decor and finish is shocking, all done free hand. Nothing masked off. Some external doors painted, other left unpainted. Glass units in windows and doors scratched, front door painted in the rain. Sunk drive way, ripped door seals letting in water during the winter. All these points were mentioned prior to moving in and on the 7 day handover window. My front door was then sanded down and left for 8 months before i went and got the paint and done it myself.landscaping outside my house has remained areas of weed and mud for 8 months now with covid being the excuse, despite landscapers, builders, plumbers being in other areas of the site.I have made contact with the Director of the company who also ignored my letter - so from the bottom to the top this company lacks empathy and sympathy with the people who buy new homes from them.if you want a poorly finished house where nothing will get sorted once you move in buy a Robertson home!

Poor build quality, poor customer service. Avoid.

We moved into our new flat in Glasgow back at the very start of the first lockdown, after a few weeks the list of snags grew and grew, most of which are just poor build quality. Flooring not fitted properly, tiling and sealing not done properly, doors and door frames not straight, items we had paid extra for not fitted. Once the lockdown had ended at the start of summer, contractors were supposed to come in to fix the issues, most of them came in and made the issues worse or just didn’t show up at all. Now we are a year on and very few of the snags have been fixed. Customer service is non existent, so don’t expect any help with anything. You feel like everything is an inconvenience to them, they drag issues out for as long as possible hoping that you’ll give in and just forget about it. Also now the staff and managers have left the area, the site has been left in a mess, car parking incomplete, with building materials left dumped in our parking area for the last 6 weeks.

Quality isnt great, after sales care doesn't happen - Wynyard NE.

Moved into our home over a year ago. Still haven't had issues fixed even though whole streets of houses have been built and sold. Quality of finish is poor compared to other builders, almost impossible to get things fixed as they use contractors for everything and have no on site customer support. Complaining does not achieve anything, our issues are not major but being ignored is so demoralising. Worst new home experience we have had in the 5 we have bought to date. Some of our issues:- Built with missing lintels- Wall cassettes puncturing through plasterboard- Bathroom tiled with wrong tiles- Windows, scratched, chipped don't close- Front door doesn't lock - Heating wired wrong way round, upstairs was downstairs- Painting was terrible, all over tiles and woodworks- Electricals didn't work in kitchen- Back door scratched- Paint on brickworksI could go on....be careful when buying. Get a snagging company in! What is sad is that the design of the homes are great, they just don't seem to take ownership for the contractors who do all the work for them.
