GoogleSteer clear!! They don't respond for weeks then demand that you sign legal documents and transfer money within hours. The contracts are riddled with fees that they can't explain when asked about them. Very poor service.

GoogleI am only giving 1 star because I cannot give less as I am writing this still appalled with the lack of professionalism Portico as showed. From allowing a mice infestation to proliferate in our property for 4+ months, making us not able to use almost 50% of the property for almost half of our tenancy and only blocking entrance points when ´forced' by environmental health. To bullying the tenants and ignoring our concerns on multiple occasions. To attend the property for viewings without no warning or consent whatsoever. To delivering the house in a gross cleaning condition and having a superficial check in report compared to an extremely detailed check out report, and then claiming money to clean an already cleaned property while refusing to show any receipts. If you are considering renting, run as far away from Portico as you can as they are the most dishonest agency I have ever had the displeasure to rent from. They will also not allow you to make a formal complaint.

GooglePortico Head Office provided a dire service to tenants. They take weeks to reply to queries, have let people in to the property without prior agreement, are exceptionally rude and extremely unhelpful. We received the flat in a filthy condition. Our deposit has been withheld beyond the contracted time at the end of the tenancy. Avoid using this agency - tenants and landlords!

Googlereally poor service, they fail to rectify issues that are of their own making! As other customers reviewing have written, the head office is just atrocious. They have a policy of only answering 1 question every 24hours so if you boiler is broken on friday, thats you taking a cold shower in the winter for the weekend, they will reply something idiotic on monday that you need to google how to work the boiler or something of that sort, and finally send help on wednesday. I don't know if the head office staff are rude or just plain simple, but can't do business with them at all.

I am glad the team managed to get it fixed, but I'll make sure that if you have any future issues they are dealt with more quickly. Unfortunately we're obliged to ask all the obvious questions before we come to do the repairs - I know it can be frustrating, sorry.

GoogleStephanie, Alex and the whole Portico Camden team were exceptionally helpful in securing a rental for our second year at university. The process was efficient and transparent, and we always felt like we could ask help or clarification about our tenancy. They were exceedingly patient with 3 typically unorganised students and found us a flat that fulfilled all our personal criteria. We will definitely be recommending them as an estate agency for anyone looking for properties in North London!

GoogleAfter seemingly fine service, I signed the contract and moved into the flat and am presented with two conditions to the flat that I was not previously notified about by Portico - not allowed to have overnight guests in lieu of a £75 fine, and having to pay for a coin-operated shower after the agent saying that the box next to the shower was a "relic" and hot water being included in the rent according to the contract. When I went back to the agent about these conditions, I was first passed between the agent and the paralegal department a couple of times, and then was told that they did not know about either condition. They also neglected to tell me that the electricity was also coin operated. The landlord informed me that they have been managing the property for 10 years and knew full well about both conditions. Due to my current situation I have no choice but to stay in the property for the duration of the contract, but am very upset and feel that I have been conned into this contract, as they claimed not to know of the conditions when they definitely did. Very poor service - will avoid in the future.

GoogleAstronomical fees and they have the nerve to charge other fees like admin fee, using their contract fee etc. They then say that they told you about some of the other fees when they hadn't. Why do people go to estate agents when landlords are advertising the same property for much less?!!
