TrustpilotSteer Clear - they don’t care!
I can’t even begin to explain what a shambles this company is. Don’t bother keeping your house in good order if you are wanting anything new as they only cater to tenants who trash the properties. Don’t bother booking repairs because they’ll cancel without notice or turn up at the wrong time every time you try and get somebody out. Don’t bother complaining unless you have the will to take it to the ombudsman because their attempts at a response or remuneration are pitiful. We’re in the process of liaising with our local MP about them because after more than two decades of living in this house, we’ve had enough. I would desperately urge people to steer clear of this company where you can so you don’t end up in this situation!!

TrustpilotMy mother has moved house
My mother has moved house, she suffers from mental health issues. There has been a mess up between the local council and places for people. Nothing to do with my mother yet when she tried to help clear it and explain herself the people on the phone wouldn't hear her out. She suffers from mental health and that was stated and your company doesn't seem to give a dam. They are refusing to listen to her and on top of that they keep sending her letters saying she owes money and they don't like the way she's spoke to them. ( She suffers from several mental illnesses ). Tried showing that the fault lies with places for people and they won't have any of it. Instead of trying to listen or putting on a worker who is experienced at dealing with people with mental illness and the faults that come with that you just keep harassing and now won't even talk to her. This is shameful and goes against everything the company tries to aim for. Avoid this company at all costs.

TrustpilotIt's just an observation
It's just an observation, I'm actively looking for somewhere to rent. An Occupational Therapist with whom I work pointed out that( PfP) offer tenants City Centre living in Newcastle. The Waterloo Street site appears to be a cut above Council dwellings in the city, and having investigated the rear of those flats on 2 occasions the street is busy with tradesmen, and they presumably will be there servicing property within those flats. Absolutely nothing to indicate anti - social behaviour almost all of the flats appear to be lived in and better still seemed from the street to be respected dwellings, it appears that tenants take pride in having nice windows.I can say categorically PfP that I for one are definitely interested in taking up a tenancy (subject to contract) with your company.Kind regards

TrustpilotI am not a Tenant of Places for People…
I am not a Tenant of Places for People thank God! My mother in law and her husband along with other neighbours in their close and otherwise friendly community, have all been victims of ongoing antisocial behaviour from one sole tenant, who it would appear can do anything she wants to harass and cause distress to anyone in her vicinity without consequence. Places for People make it clear on their website that antisocial behaviour is not tolerated, when actions speak louder than words, PfP have not demonstrated their capability to practice what they preach!!? When you have had several reports made from multiple tenants about antisocial behaviour about the same person, who has also had several visits by the police for the same problems, don't you think it's time to take action for eviction? I had to give your service 1 star because I couldn't write this review without it.. Your policy and vision is nothing more than a 'dream' and I can only feel sorry for the next person who comes along and is fool enough to believe in your fantasy service!Absolutely disgraceful...

TrustpilotWORST LANDLORD I HAVE EVER RENTED FROM!!! AVOID IF YOU CAN!!!!
This company are an absolute joke!!! I live in a communal block for over 55s. Last year I was found to have a leak from one of my central heating pipes in my lounge, which was made known to me by my downstairs neighbour. It took them 3 weeks to carry out the repair during which time I could not have my lounge radiator on as it made the leak worse due to pipes expanding when hot. The leak totally ruined my lounge cream carpet as the water leaking from the pipes was black, meaning I had to purchase a new carpet. When the finally came to do the repair, the casing covering the heating pipes, was left hanging loose instead of them revealing it. Recently, I reported a damp patch on my kitchen ceiling, when I was told that, as the leak was coming from the above flat, it had to be the tenant above who reported the leak!!!!! And also, I now have a RAT problem!!!! When I reported this, I was told, "Its not our problem, and you will have to get a pest control company in to deal with it". I have a chronic health condition which affects my muscles and joints, this being the reason I moved here. I feel like I have been treated like an inconvenience, rather than a full rent paying customer. Does anyone have any advice with regards to My RAT problem????

TrustpilotThis company is an absolutely joke
This company is an absolutely joke, sending lots of emails not a single answer, there are not parkings in the area for all the tenants There even though they are places to park they marked with yellow lines and put a private parking controller to make money, in the mornings you only see their vans parked anywhere without any tickets, no disable access, 2 lifts doesn’t work, they don’t reply emails.., avoid this landlord

TrustpilotA star is still too much for this…
A star is still too much for this company. This company lies and cheats blatantly one in the face. They have a motto - generate money. No matter how and at what cost. The houses are a disaster. The renovation status is before the second world war, including pathogenic toxic black mold.In the apartment, the floor is full of holes, because the roof is leaking. Sarcastic, this can certainly be described as a natural shower.Bathrooms are without a shower or shower attachment. The water tap is outdated and does not work. The bathtub is rusted. Water pipes are outdated and are mounted on plaster. It is the same with electric cables. Outdated cables and defective connections. I am lucky. I have a fire detector! (Ironic off)The apartment doors are from the 60s and full of holes. A bit of filler and already this company thinks that is aesthetic.Actually, you can only do one thing, demolish the houses and build new ones to EU standards. With insulation and water protection and neat plaster on the walls.I do not need to mention that repairs are not performed and sometimes you wait years to be noticed. You live there as a family with children in these circumstances? Do you pay money for this? Please, don't do it. This is an unsocial and deceptive company.Boycott this company. This company should be held accountable by the government.

TrustpilotAbusive incompetent personal data abusers and breaking data protection law
Oh my god I have never been driven to thoughts of suicide more than a business like "Places for People" but they have done it.Got a Housing Association place with SAGE Housing who were far nicer and far more competent than these "Places for People" incompetent jobsworths who took on the portfolio.SAGE Housing is rated 5/5Places for People is rated -20/5After 5 months of happiness I get an e-mail saying Places for People were taking over property management of SAGE Housing.Ok that's fine. As long as I can log into my portal and pay rent no issues like SAGE all is good. With SAGE it was log in and hit "pay rent" and the rest was done. With Places for People in less than 8 days I have made no less than 25 phone calls, 10 e-mails about their broken internet portal that has 10 pages to fill in EVERY time you want to pay rent. Only to end in errors and non-payment with.- Payment Error!- Payment Error!-- Payment Error!- Payment Error!- Payment Error!- Payment Error!"You sure you're logging in correctly?""You sure you're logging in correctly?""You sure you're logging in correctly?""You sure you're logging in correctly?""You sure you're logging in correctly?""You sure you're logging in correctly?"Click "Sage Rental Enquiries"Look, you guys (Places for People) have just not set-up the system right!!!!!!!!!!!!Sent a complaint to the Information Comissioners Office to investigate your criminal organisation who has my address down wrong and my weeks rental is 3 weeks behind as your system refuses to take my payments like SAGE did.Utter incompetence.PS- I have screen shots of all the e-mails and failed payment screens if Places for People want to contest this while the Information Comissioners Office investigate your Data Protection Abuses. If you get offered a Places for People property refuse it. I'd rather slash my own wrists than have to deal with another incompetent e-mail or telephone call saying they aren't going to do anything to resolve the exact same issue I've already reported 35 times. Or not having my equiries returned after 3 weeks of abuse from Places for People.

TrustpilotBeen a tenant since 2009
Been a tenant since 2009. These guys are just so unprofessional and phone you every year talking sh** about electrical surveys. They carry out bodge repairs which they take a few times to get right and don't invest in their properties. They wont give you a time for a repair and expect you to take a full days a/l and then they cancel. They can send dodgy characters around who think its ok to take a p*** in the back of their own vans in a bucket. Tip: Don't book repairs for a Monday as they will often cancel at short notice :(
