Brun Lea Heights development

We moved into our new home on the Brun Lea Heights development in Summer 2024 and have had a positive experience so far. Barratts team were prompt at going through any snags we had found and we find staff approachable. We find they are proactive in getting things sorted. We have been pleased with the finish of the house and the development so far - it is kept looking nice and clean. Michelle at the site office has been helpful whenever we have needed her assistance and Jim has been helpful too whenever we have mentioned things to him when passing. We have even found the contractors/staff working on site to be helpful, I've seen them giving our path a quick jet wash if it's gotten dirty from work they've been doing on the property next door and one gentleman saw that our step could do with a quick repaint and so he offered to do it. These little things were not expected but are appreciated. Thanks goes to all who work on the site and thank you for doing a great job so far for us - it doesn't go unnoticed.

No attention to detail …

The quality of build was cheap and poorly finished. From poorly fitted kitchen units to dangerously flimsy thin bath tub. Bad paintwork and no fitted wardrobes and a snagging list a mile long. Inadequate amount of kitchen units for the size of the house with nowhere to put our food etc. The garden was terrible, the fence was leaning over and the slabbing was mismatched and laid incorrectly with turfed areas on the patio. Barratts refused to correct the mislaid slabs and gave numerous reasons why things were did the way they were. In fact the whole build screams of penny pinching to the point I've had to hire joiners, plumbers, painters, electricians, fencer and landscapers to get my new house in a liveable condition. Barratts did correct most of the issues i had but there was loads more snagging that I never reported to them. My front door has felt like it revolves everyday with workmen of all trades coming and going. For a brand new house there was no choice of kitchen units & floorings etc. Overall it's not been an easy house to move into and i expected more from a "5 star builder".

I can’t rate barratts highly enough

I can’t rate barratts highly enough. My house move dragged on for months because my sale fell through twice. But we kept in constant contact and Louise and Fiona really worked so hard to ensure I didn’t lose my house. The aftercare has been exceptional. I’ve bought new builds before and felt abandoned after the sale. This is not the case with Barratts. Rokas rings me every single week without fail to check on any issues and nothing is too much trouble to sort. Not that there have been many issues at all. The build quality is excellent. I can’t thank the team enough.

Shout out to Garry and Carl.

Moved into our home two weeks ago. Garry was super helpful and made the whole process so easy and stress free! He answered all our questions really quickly and addressed any problems straight away. Garry added a personal touch by getting our little fur babies some treats to welcome them to their new home!! Which we both loved!! Garry did our walk round with Carl and he too was really helpful. Remarkable Job - Ryan Anderson

I would like to leave this review, specifically for Ryan Anderson at Barratt Development - Caisteal Gardens, Winchburgh.Ryan has been remarkable. He was handed over the responsibility of my snagging list which was pending for many many months. Ryan immediately assured me that he will get the fixed and since then he has been working through all of them, ticking off the ones completed, making notes for the pending ones. He has regularly communicated with me on the progress. Most importantly after his taking over the list, I feel very reassured given how committed Ryan is to truly fix things. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience dealing with Ryan and would definitely recommend to my friends of the development that he is working on.This is my first ever trust pilot review and I feel that the work done by Ryan deserves this appreciation.

Appliances with cheap interior!

Appliances with cheap interior!We have been in our house for just over a year and was thrilled that it had built in appliances - including a Zanussi fridge freezer.Within the year all three freezer drawers have cracked and broken which i have found out are not covered by warranty and is down to misuse or neglect. We do not let the freezer ice up nor do we over pack the drawers.I have spoken with a good number of people on the same estate who are experiencing the same issue - I have just had to pay out £108 for the pleasure to new drawers. If this was just me experiencing this issue or a small minority of those who i have asked i would accept this - however everyone i have asked has at least one drawer cracked or broken. Very disappointed that because of the lack of quality of these i have had to pay out for replacements. UPDATE 11/11/2024 - Have supplied all info but have not been contactedFURTHER UPDATE: 12/11/2024 - Your 'contact' was to tell me you are palming off to someone else ad a possible manufacturer issue. No hel0 whatsoever!
