Jacqueline at McFarlane has been looking after my property interests for many years now. The time has come to sell my rental property (due to my ill health). She has a difficult job managing my expectations, the tenant and the contractors. She has demonstrated reliability and persistence. Moreover she has been respectful, efficient and reliable occasionally in difficult circumstances. I would have given 5 stars if I was reviewing Jacqueline alone, however this review is of the service as a whole and some of the contractors have disappointed the tenant.

I cannot rate McFarlane's staff enough. From the begining of our sale, which was handled brilliantly, through to the follow up with our contact Natalie, who was amazing. We were kept informed through the whole procedure of our sale and purchase, she couldn't have been more helpful. Cannot recommend them enough.

Ours was not a usual tenancy - a move to Australia meant we were truly absentee landords. McFarlanes and especially Carla Doole helped us deal with difficult issues and with the eventual sale of the property. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Professional, helpful and meticulous.

Awful customer service. I booked a viewing via their website for a rental property in April and received an email saying "Thank you... a member of the team will be in touch shortly", well, that never happened. Nobody called, and I didn't receive any further emails. After over two weeks, I checked their website and the property is still TO LET. I will never contact this agent ever again.

Avoid this estate agents. Terrible service and overall experience throughout my tenancy. They view their landlords as their clients and the tenants are just cash cows. Unhelpful and rude staff, one woman in particular who was unfortunately the main person managing my tenancy. Poor service, dreadful communication skills and an overall lack of respect for tenants. Upon leaving the house after 12 years, they very clearly advised the landlord to take legal proceedings against me and to try and claim my full deposit & more on top (they ended up with nothing after a lengthy dispute). Left a very bitter taste in my mouth after paying £93,000 in rent during my entire tenancy. This agency gives estate agents a bad name. I make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid using McFarlane’s and if you are considering renting through them, I would highly recommend exploring other options. McFarlane’s: please consider how you treat your tenants. Tenants are just as important as landlords as far as your business is concerned.

Yesterday I was visited by Veron so that he could create the floorplan and take photographs of my property. To say I was nervous going into this appointment would be an understatement. Many weeks have passed since the initial visit from Anita, we have progressed significantly in the journey to prepare for our move and accordingly, the house was in a real mess compared to when Anita had originally visited. The purpose of this review is to provide feedback and hopefully underline the real value and strength plus personable approach that Veron provided to me. House moves are stressful times. Juggling them whilst you are already managing a stressful workload can be tough, and at times it can all get to feel a bit too much. Veron came in, saw what needed to be done, calmed me down, took control of the situation and made sure he got what he needed. I want to say a big thanks to Veron and to Mcfarlane. If this review does anything to get him some recognition internally then even better. Veron took on physical labour, lifting and shifting furniture, boxes of heavy items and random items, which he shouldn’t have had to do. He did it all with a smile on his face, repeatedly declined offers for refreshment and kept the focus on me, asking about where I was moving to etc. Whilst I don’t know much about the industry in which you operate, I assume it to be heavily dependent upon relationships and the ability to build and develop relationships. On that assumption and my experience yesterday, I’d suggest you have a really strong talent on your hands with Veron. Thanks Veron - thanks Mcfarlane. Keep up the good work and keep doing what you do, exactly how you do it! This is a real load off my mind and a real significant milestone complete as we approach the big move date. Whilst it is true that paperwork and processes get these things done, we forget the true value and importance that it is PEOPLE and PERSONALITY which matters most - something which Veron has stacks of.

I rented my property with Mcfarlanes for 8 years, Theresa and Wendy were very good at dealing with my tenants. I've now sold the property to my tenants and Christina and Tim helped greatly with a very difficult sale that took 7 months to complete. Christina was incredibly vigilant, kept me informed, calm when things weren't going so well, she has the patience of a saint! Highly recommend to rent and sell through Mcfarlane.

Had the misfortune of dealing with this company. Spoke with 2 ladies, Debra and Rachel. Both were absolutely shocking and incompetent. Didn't know anything about the property they were selling. Avoid at all costs
