We tried to buy a property from Hopkins but they pulled the plug the day before exchange (presumably someone had offered more money for the house we were buying). We found Hopkins a very unpleasant company to deal with after we got part the initial Sales team.

Hopkins Homes - Drive(ing) me insane

Drive(ing) me insaneWe moved into a Hopkins Home in Brightlingsea about eighteen months ago. To be honest wish I had not purchased as getting a response to snagging etc is appalling. just had to wait 6 months for a new kitchen cupboard door.We also have an ongoing problem with our drive. Hopkins in their wisdom lay drives consisting of stones over tarmac. The stones go everywhere and you are not issued with a stiff broom in your welcome pack. Stones end up on your car mats, on the pavement, in the road and generally everywhere. Basically in my opinion they are not fit for purpose so if you are buying a house insist on a paved drive. Update to Hopkins to clarify more details as requested.I have asked for my drive to be redone with just tarmac and received a reply today from Customer Care saying that nothing will be done about my drive. The drives are within planning regulations as Council have been down to check. They look nice when you move in but soon you are sick of stones everywhere and continual sweeping up of road and pavements. Stones go down our drain continually as they are loose.A simple remedy is just a plain tarmac without the stones. Block pavers are used on a lot of drives but our area which has 3 houses and approaching over one million pounds worth of property was deemed worthy not to have a proper road and drive surface.From a design point of view the drives are letting the design and appearance of the Hopkins sites.We now have a kitchen door finally.Still waiting on gutter check and drainage check reported at XmasIt would nice if Hopkins could respond with a comment regarding the drives as there are a lot of unhappy people with similar opinions on the estate.

Fantastic team and house

We purchased a home on the St Georges Park development in Needham Market a few months ago. We have been so pleased with both our new home and the Hopkins team onsite that we have dealt with (Katie & Lukas). The level of service both pre and post purchase that we received from Katie was outstanding. She regularly went above and beyond to accommodate or queries and requests and nothing was too much effort, she has been fantastic. The same can be said for Lukas, he has been brilliant answering any questions we have had and has also gone out of his way to male sure we are happy. As for the the house, we absolutely love it and have had no issues what so ever. We are very happy and glad we made this move.

Just bought our home at Kingley Grove from Hopkins homes and are very happy with it, especially the build quality which is not only solid but also has a classic feel to it. Right from the time of reservation until now, Jo Chapman from the sales office has been extremely helpful and attentive to our requirements and concerns. Jo and the maintenance team (Adam and Stuart) have been dropping by time and again, to check if we were settling well and help us whenever required. Great staff, lovely home

After we had reserved our home, the Sales Consultant we had been dealing with left, but this was perhaps for the best. Olivia, the new sales consultant for Kingsfleet, was wonderful in keeping me updated, and putting up with my anxious (annoying) emails.Even now if we need anything or have questions about the site Olivia is welcoming and happy to chat or signpost who to email.The house itself has a few minor snags, which Hopkins have been quick to address, and everyone has been polite and efficient in sorting these issues.The builders and tradesmen on site are friendly and courteous, always say good morning or give right of way to residents' cars.Overall we are very pleased to have picked a Hopkins home.

Good houses, excellent staff

Our favourable impression of Hopkins Homes at the Melbourn Development started with Jo, at the Sales Office there. She was immediately friendly and helpful and, having chosen our house and embarked on the purchase, we realised how efficient and knowledgeable she was. She couldn't have done more to smooth the process for us. The houses are finished to a high standard and, compared to previous experience with other builders, we had relatively few snagging issues. Those that did occur were usually promptly resolved by Adam, the Site Manager, who was also a pleasure to work with.In some ways we were relieved we had sold our previous house and had had to take up rented accommodation prior to completion as the build programme with Hopkins is 9 months, which must be more difficult for anyone hoping to sell and move on the same date.All in all, we are very happy we found Kingley Grove in the pretty village of Melbourn and have been able to settle in so quickly over the last few months.
