St James Park, Ely

Currently about to complete in Ely. Delighted with the property and how it has progressed with quality in mind and not been rushed. Sharon the Sales Consultant has been very helpful all the way through and lovely to have as a point of contact, also very accommodating to our changes and requests. The site team of Lindsay, Mike and Ken are great have been equally great and clearly take a lot of care and pride in what they do. Would definitely recommend HH based on everything to date, they are a class above other house builders in the region. Will post again 4 weeks after we’ve moved in but feeling confident.

Alconbury Weald

Alconbury Weald - 76 snags and counting, ranging from all carpets within the house losing tension, tiles not being level, 1X warped back gate then replacement fitted at an angle meaning doesn't close properly, window sills not painted, and those which are peeling, lose brick within garage, live cable not buried underground, bare live cables stuffed into metallic wall partitions, drafts through all sash windows, extractor fan screwed to ceiling and not vented anywhere, shower leaking into living room, 10mm gap where wall tiles meet floor tiles filled with silicone, 1 inch gap between bathroom door and floor, electrical certificates never received Hopkins do not have them. High staff turn over at customer services resulting in unnecessary delays, endless amounts of repetition sending the same email over and over again. All of the above has been raised countless times with Hopkins, some fixed some not and unfortunately some of the more serious issues have been ignored. Its such a shame that customer care is so poor as Ann does such a good job in the Office at point of sale, if only the rest of the company shared her passion and attention to detail. Overall very disappointed with the finish of our property. I have held off writing this review as I believe in giving people a chance to fix things so that a positive review can be left however nearly a year in and do not feel any closer.

Squashy development, poor noise insulation from cars and neighbours

IP4, St Peter's Place ( Griffiths Close / Willis Cresent ) in Ipswich is a squashy development, some areas have no paths, the roads are also very narrow and so vehcile noise can be very loud and you can hear people in the street clearly. Many houses on top of each other and at right angles to each other, so you can hear your neighbours even if they aren't attached to you. Now the council are looking to build a homeless unit opposite. The roads on the development are narrow and there isn't enough parking as most of the homes and flats have only one space. So you get a lot of cars, particularly at weekends blocking the narrow roads. I am not sure how the development got planning permission as there is a major parking problem on the development. The Council should learn from this and force developers to provide adequate parking spaces in developments. The current situation makes it dangerous for families to walk in the development as you often get cars coming round bends on the wrong side of the road and some parts of the develipment do not have pavements, just a road. All in all, it's messed up.

my daughter bought a brand new bungalow…

my daughter bought a brand new bungalow built by Hopkins homes, what a load of rubbish, the under floor heating is expensive to run, the kitchen is very small no work top space and water has been coming in the French doors and after 5 visits they are going to replace the doors, these new builds are put up by clowns not proper tradesmen, they are so small you would be better off buying an older house that at least has had all the faults sorted.

Quality from start to finish. Colne Gardens, Brightlngsea.

Having looked at a number of new builds, we came across Hopkins Homes, which were building in our local area. From start to finish we couldn't have been happier. At the early stages when we first reserved our house / plot, there were a few points about layouts / landscaping we weren't to keen on, and before we knew it, Hopkins had taken everything we had said into consideration and made a number of changes for us, without us even owning the house yet! Once we got the keys, we found a few minor issues, all that were resolved within a few days, and still after 6 months of living there they come out promptly to any issues that arise. We really couldn't recommend them highly enough. Our biggest fear was once the site was complete, having cars parked everywhere, blocking roads, like on a lot of new sites, however Hopkins have carefully thought out about parking, and visitor spaces and we have never had an issue. Would not hesitate buying another home from them.

We moved into plot 34 at Watermill Meadow last Saturday 3rd November. We would like to express our thanks to the Sales and Site Teams for all their hard work.Over the past year we have received a great deal of help and cooperation from the Sales Team which enabled us to secure plot 34.We are very impressed with the quality of build and the attention to detail both internally and externally. My New Home

I completed the purchase of my new home in April 2018.The whole experience has been problem free, money/keys were exchanged without delay. I have had no major issues, any initial concerns have been monitored by the Site and the Head Office team. Would i recommend Hopkins, absolutely, i have no fears that within the 2yr warranty period that any issues will be resolved and with any major purchase having peace of mind is everything.

Houses are ok but not worth the money…

Houses are ok but not worth the money you buy them for. All of the windows and doors are horrendous quality and need replacing .we have been missold on what the development would look like. No children's play park. Roads and paths not finished. Communal garden areas are a bad standard with weeds and no planting. Bad finishes on houses, drainage, driveways and landscaping. The worst part is the customer service and aftercare. Communication is horrfic. It takes an age for things to be acknowledged, addressed and dealt with, with the blame being passed to Warrenties and suppliers and nothing has been resolved anywhere near there 28 days as we were told. It has taken us a year to get the go ahead on our doors being replaced (all of them faulty throughout the development) and they still have not replaced them this was 8 weeks ago again and when you chase you just get a generic "I will chase the doors for you" response and nothing happens. If we had of known how appalling Hopkins were we would have never brought this house. And I urge anyone looking to buy one of their homes to think again and save yourself the stress, worry and frustration that we have encountered since moving into what should have been to forever home. Avoid. AVOID.

The house itself looks nice and the interior layout and design is of decent proportions. However, final finish is poor, too many examples to put here and worse still is the customer care and after care experience. They are after all legally obliged to correct and put right the problems and issues. The best thing I could say is I would never buy another Hopkins Home and advise others not to as well. I would expect the owner and MD of Hopkins are aware of the issues and disappointment of the people who's hard earned cash they are taking but do not have the decency to do the right thing and get things sorted.

Beware of Hopkins Homes

Beware of Hopkins Homes. They portray themselves as a more superior, quality home building company but in reality build more unique and sympathetic looking properties to a poor standard. The contractors they employ are sub-standard, they do not check their properties are finished properly and their developments are poorly designed. Good luck with getting a response or even an apology from their customer care team or head office. It will be the worst mistake you will ever make buying a Hopkins Home although the sales department will tell you whatever you want to hear if it means you buy one of their properties.

A decent homebuilder, happy enough with the house but silly mistakes and poor quality control let it down. Also worth a mention is the (lack of) grounds aftercare - grass hasn't been cut, ever.

Moved in with no broadband and looks like I won't get for 6 weeks. In this day and age that sucks. I cannot invoice anyone or contact anyone. If I had know I would be buying a brand new house without broadband I would have looked elsewhere.

It's been so good and comforting over the past 2 years, to know that you will be on the end of the phone or email when after care problems arise. You've dealt with all matters so professionally and with such a pleasant manner.Thank you very much for initially dealing with my concerns in regard to the rendering of my home. The person I dealt with was excellent at explaining and answering any questions I had including keeping me advised throughout.I'm thrilled with the job and it was a wonderful surprise to arrive home from holiday very recently to find the work completed. It looks great! Well done and a big thank you to the person I dealt with, his team and all of those involved in the work. Many thanks as always for your excellent help. I think you're a tremendous ambassador for Hopkins Homes after care team. Thank you so much for all of your help Meg.
