When letting agents are so bad both landlord and tenant will be at risk of abuse So sick that such people can be in positions of trust Difficult to know how they can sleep The one saving grace is Karma bad deeds will always come back in some form

There are indeed a number of areas which could put a landlord and tenant at risk, and an even greater number of pieces of legislation which must be followed (over 170 at last count). As you have experienced in the past, we do our very best to ensure that our policies and procedures protect all parties, and we understand the landlords are satisfied with the actions we have taken. TrustpilotFeeling very let down by Hackney & Leigh
We were purchasing a property through the Keswick branch. We had a dedicated Agent and the process was running smoothly. Unfortunately the Agent left, we were not told and the process was left to go in the wrong direction which resulted in a stressed out vendor and it wasn't great for us either. One of the partners took over the process but seemed to have little interest apart from completion. The property we were buying had several issues that needed rectifying from our Homebuyer's survey including damp and we were advised to instruct an expert damp consultant. We don't live in the area and so engaged a consultant that was recommended by the estate agency. Unfortunately the consultant took a week to complete the report (instead of the agreed 3 days) and then delivered some bad news about extensive damp. We needed to understand what how bad the problem was by speaking to the consultant but he went awol for a week and in-between the vendor got frustrated, demanded we exchanged the same day and not wait to understand the report as he believed there was no problem. The estate agency didn't back our corner and it resulted in the property being sold to a local family inside 2 days. We were all set to exchange and complete but needed to understand the report. It was a very frustrating and costly process to go through and I would be careful about how you engage with Hackney & Leigh as they only have the vendor's interests at heart. A real shame but a sharp learning curve when buying a property in a location where you don't have a network.

As we are sure you know, the choice of who the vendor sells to is solely theirs, and whilst we do try to act in the best interests of all parties, not just the vendor, there are sometimes things beyond our control. GoogleAmazing service when we were purchasing our new home. The staff showing round properties were knowledgeable about the area and honest about whether they would fit our requirements. Office staff always went the extra mile to answer any queries and kept us in touch throughout the purchase making it much less stressful than we have experienced previously. GoogleMy wife and I have been buying a property through the Carnforth and Arnside branches of Hackney and Leigh. Having been involved with a number of private house sales and purchasers over the years, our experience of Estate Agents has not always been positive. This company has been different. Although not actually their clients, their service and support to us has been first class - courteous, timely, and efficient throughout. Their communication at all times has been first class. Should we decide to sell at some time in the future, they would be at the top of our list to act on our behalf. For the record, we have never had any contact with this company in the past, nor do we know any of the employees other than as a result of our current purchase.
