Brilliant group of estate agents, especially the Windermere branch. As buyers from out of area (east sussex) our experience has been of a lovely, supportive office and caring agents giving full details of the property and area it's located in. GoogleWe’ve rented twice through Hackney & Leigh’s Kendal office in the past three years and both times we have received outstanding service and support, allowing us to secure our first choice rental properties both times. We can not recommend them highly enough, especially Hannah, whose dedication and total professionalism made what can be a very stressful experience very straightforward and satisfying. Unfortunately a dreadful experience from start to finish. Applied for a flat 4.5 years ago and paid the deposit they then came back to say the owner had now decided he didn’t want us. We were then offered a property elsewhere and have had the most awful time with a landlord, we have been threatened, harassed and bullied out of our home, now we are having a fight over deposit, things wear out over time and Hackney and Leigh seem to feel I’m responsible for that, I’ve paid over £25000 in rent and never been late, sure there’s a couple of things I’m happy to take responsibility for but my back was instantly put up with the way we were addressed by email, horrible rude and unprofessional.

We apologise that you feel that your experience with Hackney & Leigh could have been better, but must point out that the property was let to you on a tenant find (let only) basis for the Landlord, and as such we have had no involvement with the day to day management of your tenancy. As part of our service we provided you with an inventory and schedule of condition report at the start of the tenancy, and we have now completed a checkout inspection as requested. We have also offered advice to you on how to dispute the deposit retention, and will happily discuss it in more detail with you, if you feel need further advice. GoogleExcellent service from Chris and Ruth, from valuation to completion of sale. The marketing of the property was first class. They handled all the viewings for us and kept us informed every step of the way. We certainly recommend the Penrith branch of Hackney and Leigh and would definitely use them again if we were to sell in the future.
