I’ve just recently sold my house…

I’ve just recently sold my house through Gowland and White and from start to finish it was amazing service. Very glad I decided to sell through them. A big thank you to Clare and the team for everything. It was my first time selling a house and the team were great with explaining everything to me and getting the ball rolling. Throughout the whole process they booked loads of viewings and kept me informed on the process and sent me updates on how many people were viewing the property online to actual viewings and any feedback people had after viewing the property. Anytime I had any questions they got back to really quickly and were always happy to help or go out of their way for me. I think this was especially great because I didn’t feel like I was ever having to chase anyone up or waiting around for replies during what can be a stressful time. It also felt like they wanted to speak to me no matter how silly a question I asked and I am sure there was many. My house sold pretty quickly with them and for the right price so I am very happy! I would highly recommend the team to anyone looking for a very friendly, reliable and helpful team to get your property sold. The fees as well were very very reasonable considering all the work the team puts in. Thank you so much!

Generally a good experience. Took us 11 months to sell but the market was very slow. Initial communication, house description and photos were good. They kept in touch regularly and suggested different approaches. Sales progression process didn’t seem to add a lot as it often just duplicated information from the solicitor.

Lack of communication

I am concerned about the lack of communication. We were interested in a property and contacted them on a Friday. They could not get through to my phone for some reason, completely understandable, so I gave them my husband’s phone number and my email address to contact us when they were able to book a viewing. My husband was informed that they were talking to the vendor about a viewing but heard nothing more. I had to ring once again only to be told an offer had been accepted on the property. I think others who were interested in the property should have been informed as has been the case with other estate agents we have been in contact with. I had previously expressed interest in another property through Gowland White on Rightmove and received no response at all. Disappointing as other estate agents we have been in contact with have been very prompt and informative.

Absolutely horrible estate agents, let their landlords run into disrepair and leave a kitchen with electrics under the sink exposed with water leaking for 6 months. Only when the council got involved they immediately sent an eviction notice under lie that he's selling because of may renters reform so he can't be challenged over the section 21. No problem. They then try to lie and say we refused entry or cancelled appointments and continued this for months as a way to make the tenant look difficult. The tenant that has lived here for 3 years 1 year in unsafe conditions until the council got involved because my children became unwell. So C.A (look on the website for full name) the compulsive liar, who likes to talk to tenants like trash accusing them of not paying rent and threatening them with landlords only to find the rent was paid a week early as usual and no apology offered until I argued over it. She is an absolute nasty piece of work and has some kind of power trip going on. Provoked and provoked until I did call her everything under the sun because I am paying to live in disrepair and them saying we are cancelling appointments which we have not done! Do check all date on photos and to me line!!! Look at my SAFE kitchen.

Tells tradesmen the tenant has MH issues or is angry and difficult when for 2 years a kitchen needed repairing and it wasn't done, it ended up collapsing and leaking water over plug sockets causing the whole house to repeatedly trip. Blew up the oven, the fireplace, the lamp because of this issue. My children were terrified to even get a drink of water for fear of being electrocuted. 6 months like this. Got SBC involved.They were issued immediate safety repairs notice. We was then issued a retaliatory S21. We were told by the director of its so bad then why not just take your children and move. Like it's easy to pack up a house and find a new property in 2 months. Just because they broke their tenancy agreement as did the landlord. Slum agency representing slum landlords. Disgrace a tenant by getting the usual workmen to say they won't go there because of them being angry YET they refused all quotes from anyone who wasn't on their payroll of tradesmen. Which left nobody available, recordings of people stating were been told you have MH or are aggressive. Which I had to laugh at because of how disgusting it is. Filed with the ombudsman and sought a solicitor. Do NOT use this company. Absolutely take every penny and have no care or concern in the disrepair that you and especially children living in and paying to live in.
