A big regret

I purchased my first home from Fretson Park in Sheffield in 2020 and if I can bring back the time I would never ever buy from them again! First of all they work with the cheapest subcontractors for all the jobs and the quality from the base to roof is less that satisfactory - all walls are horribly finished with lumps and marks - most of them tried to be covered with paint that have made the mistakes even worse and more obvious.When it comes to my experience, I had a heating issue upstairs when I first moved in that later on I had a visit and they fixed it...until I realised that the smallest bedroom's radiator is still not working. I kept booking this as an issue at their online defects portal and I was receiving funny comments such as an advice to drain the radiator and rejecting the issue couple of times. It was one winter season without working radiator in that bedroom, and then I decided to report it again in 2021. I had a visit and I was told that I need to empty the whole room that I already furnished in order to let them find the pipe issue therefore this visit was advisory and no job was carried on this date. Later we booked another date, I did everything as requested and they found the issue...guess what? ...The pipe for this room has never been connected under the floor! I spend two winters waiting for them to find out why it's all about.And the latest issue is the gutter leak that I have right on my front elevation. As said before Gleeson never cares about your issue - they pass the ball to the companies they work with and never check about the resolution, nobody even gives you a call to ask about your experience and they are also unreachable.My gutter leaks horribly and I am now booking the third visit and I have no idea if they will fix it this time. The first visit I had the plumber stated that it’s full with fallen leafs from the tree on the front of my house and he cannot do anything until it’s cleared, I paid for a gutter cleaner but the gutter was still leaking. I have been reporting this with all the photos and videos that clearly show how bad damage I’ve got from this leak. I currently have a massive damp mark on the front of the house that looks horrible and if the gutter keeps leaking like this, it will get worse and worse and I can get damp wall inside as well.I am utterly disappointed the sad about all my hopes and dreams about the new house that thanks to Gleeson is almost ruined in two years.I've asked so many times if I can be contacted by any of the managing representatives, if my emails can be forwarded to them and I never had any luck speaking with someone so my complaints at least be heard and understood.Rather than paying for insta brand ambassadors to bring your reputation up and asking people put positive comments on Trustpilot try speaking to existing customers instead and understand them, they are the ones that will give the value you deserve, not the fancy décor photos on Instagram.

Do not ever buy a house from gleeson homes! Take your hard earned money elsewhere. They are an absolutely disgusting company to deal with, they always deflect blame onto the customers rather than admitting liability themselves.We have had blocked toilets for 7 months BECAUSE OUR PIPES WERE FILLED WITH EXPANDING FOAM! It took them 7 months of over flowing toilets, a huge leak on Boxing Day, my cat sick and admitted to the vets for them to actually discover they had filled our pipes.I made a complaint and the response I got was that it happened because too many people were involved... too many people were involved because nobody in this company responds to you so you take things further. I had the blocked toilets logged for over a month the last time until someone actually did anything and still then they did nothing. They left us over the whole Christmas period unable to use our upstairs facilities!!! We could use the downstairs toilet and all this while we have a young baby in the house.I’m currently contacting all local papers and radio stations to make them aware and others aware of this awful company.

We had a appointment booked for 10 am regarding reserving a plot for a house which we want to purchase the advisor was helpful but ran off her feet people just walking in the office when there was confidential information about advisor having to answer phones and I could see she was getting stressed I don’t think it was a good experience and my wife was not happy surely if there is more staff on there would possibly more sales I just found it very awkward I am not blaming the advisor at all it is Gleason homes staffing issues

Rainsborough Park Phase 3

Finally moved in and settled into my new home. Completion date was always up in the air, not knowing when it would be and the time was getting closer to Christmas and still no confirmed date. Finally got the keys 22nd December (no chance of being in for Christmas). There were snagging which needed rectifying but this would be done after the Christmas break which was no issue as I wasn’t living in the house. Snagging has now all been completed. The site is still requiring finishing off where we are in terms of tarmac and footpaths but it is being addressed. Ideally a quick fix with the street lamps would be ideal as it’s very dark but we have a temporary measure at the minute. I had a pleasant buying experience just the fact that completion was up in the air for so long was frustrating as nothing could be planned or booked in which led to having an empty house for 3 weeks.O

My previous review got removed. It nice terms I got The money I was owed yesterday after I rang up customer care and was past to the accounts team. I found out that the people telling me they’ve sent my invoice over lied, and not just once, MANY times Iv given them the invoice and been told they’ve got it. Trust me when I say this…. I promise you’ll regret it, if your a first time buyer think before you buy, as it could turn out to be the worst decision of your life and be hell. If you do go ahead and buy then good luck that’s all I can say, if you don’t buy then well done! Worst company ever trust me

Would 100% recommend buying a Gleason, we’ve never had any major faults and the little snags we have had they’ve got it sorted straight away.Our sales advisor Karen at beacon park, has never let us down once always at the end of a phone call. She’s the reason we bought on the beacon plot. Couldn’t do more to help, nothing was to much and still comes an checks on us now. For a first time buyer she’s made the experience amazing. She’s included all our family when coming to visit the house build even our family from Scotland she sat an spoke to them while they waited for us. Amazing service.Gleeson also offer large garden areas. When looking at other new builds they couldn’t compete with the amount of land you get with Gleeson.Will definitely be buying again in the future and recommend to family and friends.Thankyou gleeson x x x

Brilliant 1st home buying experience

From the minute I stepped foot on the Canal Walk site in Hapton I was treated exactly how I would wanted to be when looking for a 1st home, I was unsure at first as I had never purchased a property before but gleeson have made me comfortable I have made the correct choice.. You’d regret it if you bought of gleeson.

I bought a house in April & a month after a big black patch appeared. At first we was fobbed off by the site manager, for months, until I got the building manager involved. They came round and told us to take the floor up and allow it to dry to check for leaks. Ultimately nothing was found but they screened the floor. The building manager promised us a check of the value of the floor which he failed to do so. I had to email the CEO to get help as non of them really care once they’ve got your money. Still waiting and being given excuses. NEVER BUY OF THESE

The Hays Park site is great

The Hays Park site is great. They changed their site manager a while ago and the one now has a completely different way of working. Sarah in the show office is ACE nothing is too much trouble. One of our sons has reserved a house and another is waiting for releases.Sarah has always been pleased to see us and very accommodating. She answeres all questions and finds out the ones she does not know quickly.she is very knowledgeable about how the houses are built and was able to tell us all about the installation of the build stages and inspections carried out.As it is our two sons' first time buying and a completely different way to how we have ever bought a house (prior covid) she has been helpful and understanding. We have visited lots of other Gleeson home sites all over the country as far up as Tyne side and to Lincolnshire. We have all different welcomes all but one of the staff have been very welcoming even though we were only looking at the show homes and not buying on their sites; the only one may have had a bad day (everyone has them now and again). this has been dealt with swiftly by Gleeson. Thank you Sarah lovely homes at affordable prices.

We moved into our new home on monteney park end of November 2021, from the day we signed for key the sales team don't want to know, everytime we try to ring just ignore the phone (personal mobile). We have still got lots of so called snagging to be done but if they didn't fit damaged worktops and kitchen cabinets to start with then wouldn't have to replace them. I could keep going with all things that need sorting but tbh just bad workmanship all together. Plus road constantly full of muck and sludge which where told would be road swept daily but never happens. We was told garden would be rotovated and topsoil same week we moved in but still waiting. Just so disappointed with the service as we where 1st time buyers and so looking forward to our new family home

Meadows at Rosebank

Myself and my partner bought a house on the Meadows at Rosebank estate. Originally, completion was scheduled for June 2021, then October, and finally we got our keys in December 2021. We had Wenda who was our sales representative, honestly she was the friendliest person I've ever met, she truly deserves recognition by Gleeson and a promotion. I know she was covering maternity leave but she should be given a permanent role, we had updates, advice and just a general decent person to talk to. I'm so glad we had her to guide us through the entire process. The house itself was finished beautifully. Every one of our families and friends have complimented on what such a great deal we had, (3 bed semi with a garage for 156,000), other developers in the area were 190,000+ for a 3 bed semi without a garage. Obviously there were concerns, how can a developer make a house so cheap? I don't know myself, but the location is stunning (facing a park) and the houses themselves are finished exceptionally. We had a snagger visit, as like everyone else we've heard 'new-build' horror stories. The only 2 major issues which he raised was a crack in a window bay, and a leak (which we later discovered was actually not a leak, there HAD been a leak there which was repaired before our keys were given to us). Every other snag we uploaded the entire report onto the MyGleeson portal, just before December 2021. Mid January 2022 around 5 different workers knocked at our door, and fixed absolutely every issue that was on that list. Site manager Neil should be recognised for this, he's no nonsense, he'll tell you everything about your house, how everything works and he will put your mind at ease about everything. Also any issue he solves within days, if it involves electricity or gas or a leak he will solve it within hours. Reading all of the reviews on here, my anxiety was through the roof, the developer does get things wrong (absolutely nothing major though) and holds themselves to a high standard. Every person we have dealt with has just been an asset to the team. We are so blessed to have received this amazing home and to have had Gleeson to guide us through also.

Sales and purchase great thanks to Linda, the guys on site (site manager Mick and gav amazing) after care absolutely diabolical they ignore you do not respond to defects I’ve been in my house since June and still can not get on my drive due to it being to high in the middle this was rectified by site but now issue is still not topped off with tarmac so still can not get on customer service have not once called us to apologise or to rectify this despite several calls and speaking to a solicitor and numerous defect logs opened which they keep closing without speaking or writing to us absolutely disgraceful disgusting service - other issues rectified by site manager have been great - but also now waiting as the garden was on a slope and over packed with soil so in a hump, they put the partition fence in then decided to lower the garden behind and level theirs off so the fence posts don’t go far enough into ground and there’s a drop down into their garden, so as soon as we decide to do the garden in the spring it will knock the fence over and the garden will heave into the other houses -

Bought a house from Gleeson in Burnley…

Bought a house from Gleeson in Burnley in 2015 and for the first 4 years everything was ok then this year 2021 we have had nothing but trouble first we lost out electricity as the electricity box outside blew from a poorly fitted cable installed by a contractor when the electrics where installed I have photos which show the electrical box almost set on fire with us in the house nightmare and even better the customer service people thought it was us the caused it to blow my electrician that came to make it safe would tell otherwise. Secondly we had some bad rain over the summer months which caused a leak in our bathroom which also caused the extraction fan to blow up turned out to be a cracked roof tile tried to get help from Gleeson but they didn’t want to know couldn’t give us any advice so sorted it ourselves. The third problem this year was our thermostat on the wall in the hall way which stopped working over the winter months is very cold so as we have zonal heating managed to replace the downstairs with the upstairs thermostat temporarily until the new one arrived then installed a new one myself but my question is should these issues be occurring only 5 or six years in a property NO probably not after 40 years in a house my mum and dads electricity box as never blown nor thermostat not working or leaks the the roof I know it’s hinges aren’t built to last these days but I also think they use contractors who are on a tight deadline and rush to complete a job also.AVOID THESE HOMES ALOT OF HIDDEN DEFECTS.
