Gleesons bungalows lovely

So we seen a bungalow on right move at the woodlands it’s a gleesons build and we thought no harm to go and look. The lady “Deborah” was great really helpful nothing was a bother. No pressure no hard sell just you know nice. Anyway she answered all our questions then told us to go look at the show bungalow only a few miles away. They are very nice and great layout looks like we need to pick a plot.

Great pre AND after sales experience!

After reading a lot of negative reviews regarding after sales care, I wanted to post about my recent experience with gleeson. We have been in the property for 2 months now. I used a professional snagging service pre completion but completed before all corrections were made. Since then, most of the list has been completed. Gleeson have a dedicated follow up team who call you to follow up on your experience and discuss your snagging list. I was provided the mobile number of the 2 site managers when we moved in incase of any issues. The team have responded quickly to everything raised. They have been the ones chasing to get hold of me to sort the list of minor corrections out. I have been really happy with the experience as a whole. We have a lot of house for our budget, and so far without compromise.

Karen Woolley at Vickers Grange couldn’t have been more supportive! From the outset she explained and helped me and my partner as we’d never sold a property before and it was very overwhelming. Although we didn’t end up purchasing her plot, we didn’t feel like we had wasted her time. We visited the show house multiple times, and spoke with Karen about our current situation and she advised us of next steps. Fantastic Service - Cannot fault it

Now that I have finally taken ownership of my lovely new house in Chimes Bank ; I thought it only right to write you a brief email highlighting the absolutely excellent work of your sales executive Caroline . Caroline has been with me every step of the journey in me buying my house ; right from when I turned up at the Chimes Bank development last August in monsoon like conditions having driven 300 miles up the M1/M6 in the hope of possibly being able to reserve a plot ; to making sure she was in attendance when I completed on the purchase in May and was handed the keys to my dream house even though she had recently moved to another development . Now that’s what I call Customer Care !! Right from our first meeting she was professional with excellent knowledge of the Chimes Bank development , very friendly & supportive & always gave excellent advice . She listened to what I wanted , where I was in attempting to sell my property in Bedfordshire & what my financial limits were . I was over the moon when she said straight away she would reserve a plot for me . Throughout the ensuing few months I would experience a few hurdles in my attempt to finally get my dream home , but Caroline always was there on the end of a phone to offer cheery advice & support & never lost faith in me being able to secure the property ( even though I myself nearly did when the original buyers for my flat pulled out ) . The reason why I have such an excellent choice of colours for the kitchen / bathroom / tiles / carpets & flooring was that on the day I attended Chimes Bank in February to choose my options Caroline was there to guide me through the process & gave me her truthful advice when I asked for it over the choices I was making . I can honestly say that without her help , guidance , expertise , support , knowledge & friendly cheery manner , I would not have been able to get my house . She is that good in my opinion . She really is an absolute credit to her profession & in my humble opinion Gleeson are very very fortunate to have someone of her ability working for them . So long as Caroline is working for Gleeson they will continue to sell a good many homes because of the great customer service she gives . When you are speaking to her she makes you feel as though you are the most important customer Gleeson have . Please can this email be passed up to your directors at Head Office so Caroline can get the praise she so richly deserves in my opinion In closing I have to say my whole experience of dealing with everyone at Gleeson has been absolutely first class & I would have no hesitation in recommending Gleeson built homes to any of my friends or acquaintances . Great homes ; lovely friendly people & fantastic value for money . My personal opinion is that Gleeson really is a top company who genuinely care for their customers . I have no hesitation in awarding Gleeson Homes 5 stars on Trustpilot

Amazing Experience With Gleeson

Jackie has been an amazing help from start to finish guiding me through the process of buying a house at acklam gardens. Even though there was a language barrier, Jackie went an extra mile in making sure I understood everything. The completion process was very quick and took just over 2 months using the solicitors advised by Gleeson who also did a great job. Jackie kept me informed throughout the whole process making it an easier experience overall. We did encounter a slight problem however, Liam, the site manager and Jeanette went above and beyond to ensure this issue was resolved asap.A massive hats off to Jackie who has been absolutely incredible throughout, her service is very much appreciated and I am incredibly grateful and satisfied. Upon buying our house, we could not have been happier at first thanks to the agent who helped us throughout the process. However, after being in our house 12 months we feel we have been fobbed off by Gleeson. At point of purchase, we were led to believe that every plot would be occupied by its owners, and it was not until after completion that Gleeson revealed they had actually sold the remaining properties to an investor to be rented out. Since being off site, the place has been left an absolute mess. There are far too many patches of turf that are not tended to so are overgrown and unsightly. There is remnants of rubbish and equipment left over at the entrance to the site that is yet to be moved. The roads/driveways/pavements are a mess. We are constantly told that work is due to begin imminently, however months and months pass and nothing changes. The site unfortunately is an eyesore.

Acklam Gardens - Excellent advisor experience

I stopped by the Acklam Gardens development to view a show house type I wasn’t able to see on the development I’m looking at, upon stepping into the office I was greeted with a friendly welcome from Jackie. Despite not having interest in that specific development, Jackie spent a considerable amount of time listening to and answering questions around the house types and Gleeson homes overall, she was knowledgeable and professional in a warm and genuine way which didn’t give off any hard sell. It was a pleasure to be greeted with Jackie after having a range of different experiences whilst out viewing different developments across a range of builders. I was able to leave with my questions answered alongside more information which has certainly added to my buying experience - overall, great experience.

Extremely Poor Customer Service - Willows Park

Having purchased our first new build in December 2022, we were initially impressed with Gleeson as we had very little issues, and any issues we did report to them, were fixed promptly. However, fast forward 18 months and the story is very different. Gleeson are responsible and liable to continue to fix snagging issues for 2 years, but as we are nearing the 2 years, and with our site packed up, therefore more of an inconvenience for them to come out to us, they are declining our requests left, right and centre - most commonly for the reason of ‘this was not reported at completion’. How can we report an issue at time of completion that was not present at this time as it has been caused by the settlement of the house over 18 months? My favourite was when we reported the front turf as dying as it had snowed the day after it was laid. They told us they couldn’t do anything as we ‘didn’t report it at time of completion’, even though we moved in with no turf and the turf wasn’t laid by Gleeson until 3-4 weeks post completion - they chose to decline this without first checking whether they’d laid the turf.Our top kitchen cupboards are an absolute shambles and the extractor fan has even fallen off the wall. One of their OWN builders commented on the state and poor fitting of these cupboards and stressed we should report it to Gleeson. But as expected, they are refusing to fix this as we ‘did not report it at time of completion’. Across our development, many of the houses are struggling with drainage in the gardens. We too reported this issue about 2 months after moving in. At the time, we were told turfing the garden would solve the issue. However, our garden is constantly waterlogged. Even after several dry days, there is still squelching as you walk over it. We carried out our due diligence and performed a drainage test. This highlighted that the land drain under the soil was sufficient, however, the soil itself is too compacted and not permeable. We reported our findings to Gleeson, who have declined to correct this, even though NHBC states soil must be permeable. On top of all of this, Gleeson also failed to inform of us of an incentive that was available to us at the time of our reservation, thus breaching two of the consumer codes. We had to pursue this for 9 months before they finally admitted they were at fault and compensated us accordingly. Even throughout this period, the sales advisor continued to tell us there was no incentive on our property but could not provide us with any evidence to support her claim, hence why we continued to pursue. After finally being looked into properly, they confirmed we were eligible for the incentive and we should have been informed about it at the time of our reservation. As mentioned by another reviewer, we still haven't had our drives topped with tarmac, the damaged kerbs have yet to be replaced and the road has still not been finished either. If you are unfortunate enough to be buying a Gleeson home, be sure to check and ask about all incentives available so you don’t miss out like we did. You stand half a chance of snagging issues being fixed during the first few months, but 18 months in and when the builders have left your site…. good luck! We will be taking our issues to NHBC.

OUR DREADFUL GLEESON HOME

My wife and I bought a gleesons home in September 2023 and have had nothing but problems, we were told on 3 separate occasions including at the point of sale that NO houses would be council/social housing, then 2 months ago we found out (without consultation) they sold several properties which they had trouble selling to the local council and they changed the covenant which we signed to (also without consultation).We would NEVER had bought the house under such conditions and gleesons have flatly refused to compensate us or apologise.Our doors to the house have NEVER locked since the day we bought it and we have contacted the endlessly since September 2023 it is now nearly June 2024!!!!!.The salesperson who sold us this house is particularly awful and a liar, we were told our house had a sea view which was untrue and we asked her 3 times about the social housing and she promised us this would never happen, she couldn’t have been nicer until we had problems then we were brushed off like we didn’t matter.There is still no road surface despite being topped out months ago.DO NOT BUY A GLEESON HOME YOU WILL HAVE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE

3 years on and still no driveway!

We've been in our house now for 3 years. STILL waiting for the drive to be finished. We were told last October, the weather is now too cold to finish the drive (that's the 3rd drive they've laid), so let's agree on April 2024.April 2024 arrives and goes, appreciate we had bad weather, but still no contact from Gleeson, we have to start chasing them all over again! Customer service manager informs us they have passed it to manager who deals with this - we have to withhold our telephone number as he's blocked us, he says we'll be in touch when the drive people get back in touch, how long does it take to put a date in a diary?You would think they would sort this out, we have been waiting 3 years! They didn't wait so long to take our money from the bank.We're expecting them to tell us next that the weather is too hot to do the drive, that will be another year gone. I think the only way we get this sorted is through our solicitors. DON'T go near this company, you can get a lot better property and certainly better customer service elsewhere.
