GoogleI purchased a property from my landlord in April 2025 and Gilson Gray oversaw the sale. While it was a relatively low maintenance sale, they still made the process very straightforward and, crucially, I found them easy to reach and engage with, which isn't always the case with solicitors! As someone from England navigating the Scottish house purchasing process, I was grateful for their walking through with me what was required. As in Scotland you need a solicitor early on in the house purchasing process, I'd recommend reaching out to them if you're starting afresh.

GoogleI was extremely disappointed and shocked with the service received from Gilson Gray when trying to buy a property in Fife. The lack of care they gave was unacceptable and there was a disrespect to us as their client. You couldn’t get an answer to an email at a responsible timeframe unless you phoned up. Our lawyer always had his answer machine on so couldn’t ever get through to them. There was no safeguarding for us as a client. I would stay clear of this company if you are looking to be treated with respect by a lawyer and actually cares for their clients.

GoogleDisgusting attitude towards disabled people my son has autism and selective mutism,he cannot speak over the phone they made no reasonable adjustments at all it’s bad enough that my son lost his dad and grandparents in just over a year they have made what was a very difficult situation to begin with a lot worse,no care no compassion no thoughts for disability this company is absolutely a disgrace

GoogleAbsolutely appalling service. We had the misfortune of dealing with Gilson Gray for a house sale, and their incompetence and inefficiency were staggering. Communication was virtually impossible, calls and emails went unanswered, and on the rare occasion we did get through, we were passed endlessly from one person to another. What should have been a straightforward transaction was dragged out for weeks due to their delays, putting the entire chain at risk of collapse. Their lack of urgency, accountability, and professionalism caused needless stress and frustration. Avoid them at all costs.

I was put on to Gilson Gray by my mortgage advisor at Alen and Harris. The team at Gilson Gray (especially Kirsty) were great, they helped me out with everything from start to finish and made the process of dealing with my mortgage advisor breaze. I also work offshore so had times where traditional calls where not able to be taken or made. Through this time the team kept me in constant contact via email and this made everything running super smooth. I would highly recommend the team at Gilson Gray for any solicitor needs and if I ever required assistance I would not hesitate to contact them amd use them again.

Not only they do NOT deliver their services, they take advantage of vulnerable families and are simply the most unscrupulous “professionals” I’ve ever had to deal with. Do NOT hire them under any circumstances, unless you want to waste money, time and your dignity.

I paid two expensive accounts to Gilson Gray solc. then decided to use a monthly payment method I became critically ill and contacted them to ask could I pay most of the acc. and the balance the next week they flatly refused ! My health soon deteriorated greatly I was rushed to hospital unresponsive and had a major life saving operation ! I was unable to walk and spent two months in hospital !! I contacted them to advise of my circumstances but they showed zero compassion !!! They then started legal proceedings causing further distress and expense to me while trying to recover! I dont agree with their client care and support policy it is non existent all they care about is getting their hugely expensive and questionable accounts paid with absolutely no progress acheived !!!! You have that to look forward to with them !!

GoogleDreadful in all aspects, No transparency on billing and hoping for the easy option of settlement rather than fighting or properly negotiating for the client. Deadlines for court submissions missed on a number of occasions. Would avoid at all costs, and it will definitely cost.
