Gilson Grey were a fantastic firm to work with on purchasing a new property. I have to give full credit to Rebecca who handled my case. It was not an easy transaction, with many delays due to titles deeds. Rebecca reassured me through out and kept in constant contact, providing regular updates. She is simply amazing. I would highly recommend them for any property dealings and they would be my preferred law firm of choice for any legal matters in the future.

GoogleWe recently moved out of a flat rented from Gilson Gray (on Arbroath Road, Dundee) after a 5 month battle to get a badly leaking roof fixed. Nothing was done proactively and I ended up dealing direct with a contractor. Gilson Gray passed the issue on to the landlord and did not step in at any point to help resolve the issue. They were more than happy to take a substantial rent each month though. I would not recommend renting with Gilson Gray

GoogleGilson Gray are the agent for our rental property (Specifically: Pauline Traill) and I can honestly say they are terrible to deal with as a tenant. I sold my own property and moved into a rental for the first time and they have been extremely poor to deal with even the most basic of issues. Minor issues which should be an easy fix are still outstanding, most of which were highlighted before moving into the property. The property was meant to be inspected before moving in, it must have been done with their eyes closed. I found multiple issues before moving in, most of which were easy to spot for anyone. Just do your job! It’s also no use complaining to the Head of Department Marcus Di Rollo as he’s just as poor at dealing with things.

Prior to your tenancy commencing, the property underwent extensive preparation, including a full repaint, professional cleaning, carpet shampooing, new blinds throughout, and garden maintenance. An independent inventory clerk also carried out a check-in report. We understand that you raised a number of points at the start of your tenancy which were acknowledged and addressed where appropriate, and we have continued to respond to reported issues in line with our usual processes. We take all feedback seriously and aim to provide a fair and responsive service to both landlords and tenants.

GoogleWe instructed this firm for the sale and purchase of our home and it was, without exaggeration, one of the most frustrating professional experiences we have ever had. Communication was consistently poor throughout. Emails went unanswered for days or weeks, urgent call-back requests were ignored, and we were repeatedly left chasing for even the most basic updates. There was a complete lack of urgency at key points in the transaction, which very nearly caused our chain to collapse. At no stage did we feel our matter was being handled proactively or competently. After completion, the situation deteriorated further. We were overcharged £480.20, something the firm acknowledged in writing and confirmed would be refunded in December. Three months later, we are still waiting. Repeated requests for repayment have been ignored. Even more concerning, after agreeing that we were owed money, the firm produced a bill dated 17th December which had never previously been issued to us, despite the fact we had already paid our final balance in full on 16th December. This invoice only appeared after we challenged the overpayment. The timing and circumstances of this “new” bill raise serious questions about transparency and billing practices. To compound matters, they also made an error on our Stamp Duty submission by misspelling a name. We were contacted two months after completion to urgently rectify their mistake, and we are still awaiting confirmation that this has been properly corrected. Buying and selling a property is one of the biggest financial transactions most people will ever undertake. We expected professionalism, accuracy and clear communication. Instead, we experienced delay, poor service, financial discrepancies and ongoing uncertainty. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this firm.

My daughter and I were recommended Gilson Gray as Solicitors to use when purchasing our daughters first home. From start to finish, both Kirsty and Helena kept in communication regularly and assisted in any way they could to ensure a smooth process. My daughter is autistic which added increased anxiety especially as there was a last minute delay on the sellers side with the entry date, however both Kirsty and Helena helped to alleviate any concerns regarding this and fully assisted with getting things back on track. I would highly recommend Gilson Gray and use them again in future.

Brooke was fantastic from start to finish during our conveyancing process. She was always quick to reply and stayed on top of all parties involved - ensuring the mortgage was set up, the required council requirements were in place, and that everything progressed smoothly so we could get the keys as planned (even earlier than expected - as a bonus!).
