GoogleI have recently purchased my first property which has been a smooth process, made possible only due to the impeccable support from Alice Baker and her team. They have been extremely helpful. GoogleMy experience as a landlord with Gilson Gray letting has been very poor unfortunately. They let a property for me in Edinburgh for several years. The communication was always patchy at best with emails not being replied to and phone calls going unreturned being the norm. This improved briefly when the account was handled by Katy but unfortunately it returned to its inadequate level when she left in December 22. I sold this flat through Gilson Grey Estate Agency, they were fine. It was agreed that Gilson Gray letting would forward all correspondence relating to council tax, utilities and so on and I would deal with it. Unfortunately, they have not done so and I now have penalties of around £252.12 and 2 summary warrants that I know of. I have tried to contact them multiple times over the last couple of weeks to discuss but nobody is ever available on the phone, the calls are never returned, and emails are never responded to. It is incredibly frustrating. The letting side of this business is not run to a professional standard and if you are a landlord considering engaging them as an agent I would look elsewhere. I write this review partially out of desperation in the hope it will prompt Gilson Gray to respond to my previous attempts at contact, I am not hopeful.

I see just a couple of names mentioned in the good reviews. Take note. All I will say is that a bad solicitor can, all on their own, ruin your chances of a successful completion. Do your research. Ask for recommendations. Choose well.

It was a battle royal but we all got there in the end!It took approx. 8 months from acceptance of an offer to its successful conclusion, due to several challenges which included new Government directives along with a change of Managing Agents half way through the deal. While the commitment of the various Gilson Gray team cannot be doubted there were times when communication gaps added to the angst upon this client, which was due purely to his/her own desire to just see the whole thing "done & dusted".In the end...Good job!

This company appears to either excel (going by 5 star reviews) or fail completely (going by the 1 star reviews). Unfortunately you can't afford to lucky dip approach when trying to buy a house.Communication was appalling, not just unable to get through but a lack of promised call backs or email responses.They failed to pay money on completion day - had we been in a chain this could have caused real problems.Response to complaints usual platitudes - I guess they're big enough not to care.

Great work from Danielle Pullen and her colleagues helping me complete my first house purchase. Danielle explained everything clearly and responded very quickly to all communications and any questions or queries. Danielle and her colleagues were also very helpful in chasing up and pushing to get the purchase through when someone in the chain was delaying things.
