It’s now been a couple of months since we sold and moved house with Gilson Gray LLP and we have no hesitation in continuing to recommend them to friends and family due to their service excellence. They were knowledgable on the Edinburgh property market, supportive while we looked for our house, active to get good interest for our sale, organised for sales viewings and generally fantastic all round. This was particularly appreciated as we hadn’t moved house for 17+ years and things change in that time. It’s a stressful time - especially when buying and selling at the same time - but the team at Gilson Gray were the right balance of professional and human. Megan and Lisa were fantastic with arranging all the pre-marketing materials and arranging viewings at a time that was convenient to us. Jenny was great with assisting us when receiving formal notes of interest/offers and negotiating the sale of our property at closing date. We we kept well informed throughout the process and everything was explained in plain terms which was incredibly useful during the sale of our first property. Communication is non existant

Marika never answers phones or emails. Day of so called completion she was absent. Never told us she was she wasn't in the office. Completion day didn't happen even tho our removal van was packed and ready to go. One of her colleagues told us it wasn't happening approx 4pm. All my belongings had to go in storage at short notice and accrued storage and redelivery fees of approx £1000!!! Removal company couldn't be delivered until the Wednesday after. Having to sleep on an air bed in an empty house for 5 days. Of course nothing happens over the weekend. No one called to tell us what was happening Monday morning. I called to find out. She didn't answer phone through out the day. My estate agent couldnt get hold of her neither could my vendors estate agent. 5pm I received a call from my vendors estate agent saying I could collect the keys. I had to contact Gilson Grey (Marika didnt answer) to see if I could actually collect my keys. Marika didn't pay my mortgage off immediately therefore another mortgage payment taken out (£1200) for no reason. Absolutely shocking experience from start to finish. Communication non existent. Still wanted paying on full. Will never recommend.

I recently sold my property and the purchaser was using Gilson Gray Dundee. My solicitor had to chase Gilson Gray for nearly 4 weeks for updates and progress chasing simple things. The information received from offer was incorrect and I myself had to call them multiple times to ask that they respond to my solicitors calls and emails. This caused massive stress during the whole process. When trying to call Gilson Gray multiple times at all times there phone just cut off and said please leave a voicemail. This whole experience was a poor one simply due to the stress that Gilson Gray put myself through and the chain I was in. Looking at other reviews recently clearly something is wrong at this organization at the moment. I never review anything often but felt people needed to know the kind of experience they can exepect.

I received great service and advice from the North Berwick Estate Agent and Legal team so far in the marketing, sale and purchase throughout my house move. I special thanks to Lori, Abbie, and Rob from the Estate Agent team, and to Paula in Legal. It came at a surprise at how quickly my property went from being surveyed to receiving an offer (~2 weeks). It's no doubt thanks to the team's hard work and in particular the marketing material created, i.e. the photographs and brochure, which were beautifully put together. I especially liked the online client portal Gilson Gray provides so you can keep up-to-date with the sale process of your property which includes who noted interest, offers made, ESPC views, etc. If I was to nitpick it would be that communication internally could be improved upon at times. Examples of this are some e-mails going unanswered, a potential buyer not being informed of the closing date, and trying to book a viewing after the closing date was set. However, the very positive experience in general far outweighs these minor grumbles. Again, thank you all for your effort in making the stressful experience of moving house very straightforward.

I was dealing with Jade who was doing a great job. Unfortunately she left and my file was passed to Afshar. Not only was she rude but she failed to follow basic instructions such as"send the transfer form" and "copy me into the email". She took so long to carry out basic tasks that the seller got annoyed and pulled the plug on what was a very simple transaction. Utter nightmare.

Beware..!! This is my first ever review of any company but I think it has to be said, I went to view a property Gilson Gray had advertised as I was very interested in the property I contacted my solicitor the next day to put official note of interest thinking this would keep me informed as I prepared an offer. To my surprise the house goes under offer I contacted my solicitor as soon as I was aware they in turn contacted Gilson Gray to be told they were unable to confirm the reason for this. The house owner was then told there was no other parties interested in his house so excepted a a FIVE figure sum under the asking price which I was prepared to pay . So think twice before using Gilson Gray…..
