My experiences were a 'game of two halves' of which I would give 2 and a half for the latter dealings but nothing for the start. we got off on the wrong foot with Neil when I was unhappy with the photos he'd taken, the one from the front with such a wide angle it included two properties either side of my cottage. He did come back and improved them a bit, but every one of the viewers was taken aback by the space as opposed to what they thought they'd be seeing. One person put an acceptable offer in but apparently they were 'hard to contact' and the Agents were not happy for us to accept anyway as the person hadn't been around to view. We found the person on FB and they said the Agency had been obstructive so they had decided on somewhere else. That was disheartening. The next few viewers offered way beneath the asking price, and in one case I was told by Fenn Wright that 'they didn't have much money, and couldn't afford anywhere else'. As much as I sympathized I wonder why they were directed to come and view something so much over their budget? Perhaps they thought I had a 'charitable look'. Neil then told us that we should take a lower offer as we 'would never get the price we were asking, he'd been an Agent for over 20 years and knew best'. The next bidder agreed to the price which was 15 grand more than our expert had told us we wouldn't get, and though that 'gentleman' bailed out four weeks before completion (ouch) the next one who matched the price completed. This is where the points come in, the ladies at the Office were brilliant, kept me informed and up to date through out and I was most appreciative. If some of you get out doing the viewings you'd be getting the company 5 stars!NegativeProfessionalism

I was ejected from the premises at FW Manningtree during a professional visit there, by a bearded employee who had recently been repatriated from Thailand (according to my Google search at the time) and who seemed to be in the midst of a breakdown about five years ago. I'm sure he didn't last long in the industry, but the experience has stayed with me, and I would have preferred it if one of his more compos mentis colleagues had intervened on my behalf.

I went into Fenn Wright Witham on the 22nd of June to ask about a property, I was promptly told that unless I was on the market or in a position to move forward it wasn't worth it as they had 20+ viewings fair enough. The chap in the office proceeded to the pester myself to come and value my property, having had the property valued at the beginning of the year I knew what it was worth but the chap was insistant that they be given an opportunity to value it. I said yes out of courtesy and it was booked in for Monday 29th June 2020 at 2.05pm with a call from the Chelmsford branch. I recieved a text to say my market appraisal would be carried out on the 29th June 2020!!! But low and behold no one turned up. I had taken an afternoon off work which is a premium at the moment having being self employed and just able to carry out my job after lockdown and not to mention the tidying and decluttering as you want your property to be seen in the best light. My son was an Estate Agent for 15 years and a senior lister and never failed to arrive at a market appraisal, even if running late a courtesy call was made and circumstances explained. I got the impression from the start that I wasn't taken seriously at the Witham branch, I was in my work clothes and (generally dirty as I'm a builder) the two senior agents in the office were looking down their nose and gave disbelieving looks at each other that I had three quarters of a million pound house. Safe to say they will not be given a second chance to view my property.NegativeProfessionalism
