I cannot rate the quality of their properties as we never actually got to live in one unfortunately, but the experience we had with the company was good. We agreed to purchase a property on the Lapwings development in Stafford. A couple of weeks before we were due to exchange contracts, we went to the estate to see if the recent heavy rain had affected the area. Unfortunately, the water had come up against the side of house and the garden was a bog. We were assured that drainage would be sorted prior to moving in - although it would be the responsibility of another developer to carry out as they owned the adjacent land which was the source of the problem. After consideration, we decided it was too much of a risk and pulled out of the sale. We did get our initial reservation fee returned, along with the deposit we’d placed for flooring upgrades, although I did have to chase a few times over the course of about 6 weeks to get it all back. We were gutted about the situation as the house and plot were lovely, and the build quality seemed much better than other new build properties we’d viewed nearby. Barbara at the Stafford sales office was a great help throughout, and very understanding when we made the decision to withdraw from the purchase.

House purchase Woodland Manor Wynyard June 23I want to thank the Duchy team for providing us with our lovely home .We want to compliment the team from sales to site staff for their amazing work , quality craftsmanship & service that we have received from reservation to after care of move in date.Key qualities that stand out are as follows:Trusted reputation of an award winning builder ( all external tradesman that we have had in our home have commented on the quality of the property & design) .The build was on time & site visits were handled professionally & were very informative.Ease of regular communication has been excellent throughout all questions were speedily answered and key updates were provided.Commitment to customer service has been second to none.The build specifications & extras purchased met the set out standards & were to a very high specification. Couldn’t be happier with the job he did!Also the plaster work from Andy Callahan and duane walker is fantastic. They checked over the pipes and leak to make sure there would be no residual issues. You’d never have known that there was a hole in the ceiling!

Fantastic quality well built home on a lovely well laid out estate. The buying process was smooth and contact through was of a high standard. The sales lady at the Ramsey park development was fantastic the knowledge and expertise provided was reassuring and comforting in the buying process. Dawn Elliott was the ladies name and what a fantastic member of staff she had been through at the process, dwh you should be extremely honoured to have such quality staff.The staff at DWH have continued to show there excellence even after we have moved in the site management are on hand, respectful and accommodating at every stage of contact we have had, again DWH you should be honoured to have Carl and Craig working for you with out staff like them you would not achieve the excellence we feel we have had.The build quality has been really good with attention to detail in the finish of the build obviously been a high priority to DWH.Fantastic all round experience with particular thanks to the 3 members of staff at ramsey park we had dealings with Dawn, Carl and Craig

We are losing count now of the number of reviews we have posted here, but until our complaint is given proper consideration and progress is made, we intend to keep posting. It’s Friday afternoon, and another day spent of trying to get answers and action. Our issues are with the public open spaces that surround us here in Abbots Green, Woolpit. Our complaint has been acknowledged, but the responses we have received have given us no information or have provided details that are totally false. We had a visit yesterday from a technical director who told us he “could not disclose” what actions would be taken to sort the drainage problem opposite our home. The issue is that the ground clay has been covered by more compacted material and DW have no idea what to do. We suspect there is no drainage in this area at all. We still have dead trees and ground that has not been cleared properly, turf that is dead. We have been promised that this time we will get explanations as to what has gone wrong, but of course, this never happens. They are a cynical company who just want to sell homes and move on. The company left the site much too early before the public open spaces and remedial issues were sorted, hoping that no one would notice. It seems that their strategy is to delay and delay in the hope that home owners will give up because it is all too much. We are again extending an invitation to the Managing Director of Barratt/ DW to visit us here in person to see what a mess has been left.
